Are you going to vax your chickens and cows?
for what?
Of Course He Wouldn't He's an Intelligent Person !!
Sure hope not, but just wanted clarity. I do admire your work. There are some YT that do vax. Tax for your cute response:))
Vax chickens? Never heard of it. What kind of vax?
@@MandatoryMyocarditis7I don't know what it's called over there in the USA, but if you ask google about "vogelgriep" it'll tell you about a (worldwide!) pandemic among birds, that's been going on since before the corona-pandemic.
Over here in the Netherlands (and lots of other countries) birds held for food production as well as birds kept as pet are not allowed to be outside for a few years now, even if they are vaccinated.
Just for reference you should show a picture of what the land looked like when you first bought it ever once and a while. Some people would like to see how far you have come!
I've been using a Run Chicken automatic door since December. Very easy installation. Absolutely no issues. Works as advertised in rain, snow, below freezing temperatures.
I've owned dozens of breeds of birds. Nothing outlays the White Leghorn. Excellent coop 👏
They are number 1 on production, but a lot of people like brown eggs. Most don't know there is no difference in quality.
Agree on production but they also seem to more resilient and rigorous as well. I’ve lost very few White Leghorns vs other breeds
I have trained my birds to herd.
Outside during the day, in at night.
This is the second time I have herded chickens.
That’s a cool chicken coop.
Your birds will love it.
I’m sure my Egg layers would stay outside, if I had one of the solar door. They like to stay out until after dark .
My daughter just lost 32 of her chickens in a coop and set up like that. Couple of dogs that had been abandoned out in the country had got through the fence and killed them all. And if there’s not going to be a fence around it, you really need to block off those flapping backs on the nest box, because anything can get in there.
That's a really cool little chicken door! Love it! Of course, the coop is a beauty too. Good job!
A very cool addition to mobile coup Josh. The oil wood finish looks great! Those birds have it made now! Wooooo!
I know right!!! Thanks buddy!
I love my Run Chicken auto door!!! Hardest part for me is teaching my chickens to go in before it closes.... They just don't seek shelter like my older flock does ( youngest ones are 18 weeks, oldest ones are 6 yrs old) lol
Thats a cool "Egg-Mobile". Thanks for the inspiration and design. 👍
You did an awesome job !! congratulations very !! impressive !!
Very Good Josh.
LOL! I only have 4 girls, but I love your egg-mobile, and plan on using your tips in the future!
🐔❤👍
I just bought 5 baby chicks and I am glad I came across your channel!!!
Welcome!!
Beautiful property you have.
Awesome
Good afternoon Josh your chick coop is looking awesome and its American pride love it
What is that opening jingle from? I'm not normally a country music fan, but I want to hear that whole song because it sounds awesome!
Looks awesome!!! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Hey, Josh!!! Wondered where Ms Stoney Ridge is, when there's all those cute chickies around? Missing her bright smile!!! 🥰
You are an inspiration to me. My family bought a farm in Cocke County Tennessee, Eastern on border of NC. Next month I plan on moving there full time to farm and work remotely on the computer. We plan on chickens and rabbits. Rotating crops between alfalfa and grain. Maybe making some whiskey with surplus grin and fruit. I will plant berries, melons and fruit trees: Peaches and cherries... Small greenhouse as well.
better do some research on growing alfalfa my friend.....alot of it! Takes a special kind of soil and potential irrigation...research it strongly and talk to your local ag center
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I will do. Thank you very much for your advice.
@StoneyRidgeFarmer Our next door neighbor grows alfalfa on a large scale. I will do as you advised. I will also learn from my neighbor who does it for income. I love your channel and the wY you think. Your ex is missing out on the fun there, the fruit of your labor and extreme discipline and passion for your work.
Impressive!
You need a ramp for them to go in and out!!
He had one at the end of the video... I thought that too.
Such a nice set up and build. For 100% raccoon protection use 1/2" hardware cloth instead of chicken wire and put 2 x 4 blocking between each rafter. Poop board shelves over the nest boxes with some sweet pdz or sand would help.
With the Cabots, you are supposed to reapply every 12 to 18 months when colour change occurs or water repellence diminishes...
yep.....it looks nice for a bit...then fails...but has a lifetime guarantee!
would love to see a up date in that field you cut awhile ago that has the brush pile in the middle.
You should see the looks i get when i use my drills as hammers 😂 ive had the same makita kit for around 10 years and they get used all day every day. Its awsome you still have some dewalt XRP going strong
My mother had chickens. One time many years ago there was an eclipse of the sun. Her chickens trotted up the pole to the roost at two o'clock in the afternoon when the sky darkened.
👍🎶🎵🎶 you rock!🐔🐥🐣🐤🐣🐤🐥🐔🐔
Hey Josh thank you for the video I enjoyed it and I would say that that was a good job everything that you did there but the only thing I would have done differently was I would have stained the inside also
3:00 The nest boxes are right under the perches (roost poles), aren't you worried about the amount of shit that will fall on or near the nest boxes? Is it better to place nest boxes in front next to doors?
anything in a chicken coop is gonna get pooped on for sure. So...in hindsight....maybe the next eggmobile will be put together a little differently
Just remember it takes two to argue.
Paint the Coop. Up down up down. Good job Joshua Son
Those doors are nice but I wasn't thinking when I spent money on mine. My flock is mixed chickens and ducks and a goose. The ducks don't put themselves to bed so I have to go out there every night anyway. But my chickens are almost always in there waiting
yep....domesticated ducks aren't very smart ...they're cute...and smart in their own way but self preservation isn't their strong suit lol
What kind of wood did you build your coop out of?
Does it matter what wood is stained with this Oil?
Pine my friend...that's what kinda tree I cut and milled...you need to put a wood preservative on this soft pine wood or any wood for that matter....or it will decay prematurely and rot
Man I wish the premiere net fence was a Lil cheaper
Where is their walkway ramp?
Originally I was concerned about the raccoon getting in. Not so sure right now. Looks like the human access prevents raccoons from fully getting in. But without a hands on inspection I couldn’t be sure. But looks like you are coming up with an idea
Why didnt you just use the door clips that came with the hengear laying box? Theyre kinda z shaped. Every hole there is on the swing door is where they go...
Wondering why a mobile coop. Is it so you fertilize the grass in different places?
this will be explained in more detail soon...these chickens are "pasture sanitizers" they go in behind the cows and eat the bugs/flies and larvae
How about solar panels above the egg boxes to keep the eggs from frying in the sun?
ya know...I never thought of the eggs getting too hot....I'll have to keep an eye on that and maybe have to glue some bubble wrap insulation to the nest box....I''ll keep an eye on that! Good thinkin!
Love my run chicken door. But I like yours better. 'MERICA
How do you muck it out?
You need a ramp so they can go in n out
Kind of sucks that it has all of those squares in the middle. I live in north Quebec the breeze and cold and snow is not good. I would love to get one.
MERICA!
Are you going to use rainwater catchment from the roof to provide water for your chickens.
maybe at some point
Are you not afraid of hawks swooping down to get them?😳
Hello Josh,
You should have run the ribs going the other way for better drainage.
Love the videos. Keep up the good work, and God bless and stay safe.
you understand that this will never be sitting on perfectly flat ground right? I could have cut 15 pieces or 3....so I diid 3 lol
I followed the link but it looks like chicken wire, not what’s in your video. Can you direct me? Need that netting.
Please tell me thats not blood dripping down the underside from cutting into the door with chickens behind?!?!?
You put the roofing sheeting on the wrong way????
You're right, maybe the cart is higher in the front? Then it would work...kinda.
why put the auto door and ramp where it will block the door??
??
Hey do me a favor and send me the info on the next boxes please.
there's a link in the video description buddy
Nothin like patriotic chickens
85 chickens, how many roosters?
Should all be hens
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer If you can put up with roosters, fertile eggs make the best testosterone food. I wish I could get a hold of fertile eggs.
Looks like the design will keep the rodents out as well!
I have seen Danish Oil on American YTers projects, American Oil on Ukranian projects, and now Austrailian Oil on yours. I'll bet they are all boiled linseed oil. Any takers?
Cabot is probably the worst product to use. Sorry 10 years of painting made me say that
I'll agree with you!
