Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate - A Guide to unlocking everything easily

- Just a quick video giving some tips on how to get everything in Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate and, by proxy, all the costumes in Dead or Alive 3 if you own the US version of the game as all the Dead or Alive games are now available on the Xbox Marketplace now.
Quick update regarding Hitomi's unlock: It looks like they took out the requisite of having a Dead or Alive 3 save to unlock her if you're playing the game on the Xbox One/Series X - you just need to beat Ein's Story Mode with default settings to get the unlock. If you're somehow still playing this game on either the OG Xbox or on the Xbox 360, you still need a DoA3 or DoAX save file.

So Quick update on this - If, like me, you still have the Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate disc, You'll still need to unlock Hitomi by beating Ein's Story with default settings. There's no need for a DoA3 save.
DOA backwards compatible is great. These games are great and still hold up.
You actually don't need DOA3 anymore to get Hitomi. I unlocked her before I had even bought 3.
I'll have to do a bit of research on this. I still have the disc version of the game, so Hitomi's unlock condition might still apply for that...
EDIT: After a bit of testing, it looks like if you still have the Disc, you still need to unlock her by at the very least beating Ein's Story - there's no need to have a DoA3 save.

Can confirm, just bought DOA2U on series x and was worried I'd have to buy DOA3 just to get her but nope.
It’s easier to just play story mode and get everything tbh. Most people are going to get about 85% done with the item list and then give up on the more rare items.
It really depends, I personally found that, while it can be tedious, the survival mode item collection method to be easier since the only hard thing about it is getting the 50 wins for the Medal to drop, getting the character specific things are essentially just RNG which I appreciate people aren't too keen on.
If memory serves, getting the outfits unlocked via story mode and time attack (for unlockable characters) needs you to change the difficulty up to hardest and, for more casual players like myself, the harder difficulties can quickly become unfun.

But fair point yeah. I just enjoy the story and seeing everyone’s endings so I find that route more fun.
I’m from the US and I don’t have the “updated” DOA3 in my region (new intro and moves) if I buy a European version through the Xbox store via region change, will I be able to play that version?
I'm pretty sure that would work, yes.
I have the first page completely unlocked, but the last sixteen rares are incredibly difficult to get. Am I missing anything? I’ve spent hours and nothing is appearing.
Unfortunately, It's just RNG in regards to the drops from both KO's and successful Down Attacks I'm afraid.
I'm playing on the series X but I'm having trouble unlocking that last item in the collection. In order to get it do you have to get the gold trophy prize in survival? I just unlocked Tengu. The guide I read online told me to just be time attack mode with all characters but it was wrong.
I'm assuming the "last item" you're talking about is the Medal? I believe is a guaranteed drop upon defeating the 50th Enemy. If you're wanting tips, the only things I can give you is play as the character(s) you're best at, set difficulty to the easiest one and the lifebars to smallest in the options menu, and don't go hog wild with getting score since I'm pretty sure it's score that affects difficulty in this game mode and not number of wins (though I could be wrong with this.)
@@LetsPlayShadigo Sorry about that. You video explain how to get the medal 🏅 but now it opened up a second page with 15 more items. I'm like wtf lol 😆 I got the cherry 🍒 but man those rare items are hard to get. I didn't get anything with Ryu and I dropped 62 people and nothing.

This has been very helpful but I have 1 question. Is there something to get the rare items to be able to spawn after u locking the medal? I got the medal earlier and I’ve been playing for over an hour and still no rare item
You need all the other unique items on the first page of the Collection first before they start to show up. If you've already done that, then it's really just RNG for them to spawn
Playing on original xbox but having a problem getting the items after you get the medal and theres a extra row to finish.
The only thing I can say here is that you're just going to have to do the same thing you did to get the first page items. the Page 2 items are somewhat rarer to get, so it's possible you're just having bad drop luck.

I did do videos on DoA4 as far as gameplay is concerned, but not anything like this guide.
So you gotta unlock everything to get everything in sort
No you just gotta grind survival mode the hardest thing is getting the medal you gotta get 50 wins without losing so just set it to easy and the bars to low then pick tag mode use kasumi and ryu swap often so they heal and then just combo kick the cpu into the gens do that at you should get the medel quick everything else is pretty easy though you will still need to use everyone to get the extra page so just play it like normal when using everyone after you get the medel hope that helps you.
