- Vancouver Island Helicopters has been flying one of their S-61s quite a lot in the past few months. These helicopters are always fun to watch, and I was surprised to find out that this one was built in 1960!

Beautiful helicopter. It's nearly as old as I am. I was 9 years old when that helicopter was built. It's probably in better condition than me. Great catch.

Lovely old Sikorsky, but hang on I’m confused - says S61N in the title, but it has the short fuselage like a converted SH3 Sea King, the fixed non-sponson landing gear of the S61L, and the cabin windows of the ‘61N…. Anybody care to explain, it’s been a while since I used to hang around with ‘61s (Ns) on the North Sea. 😊
