Another great video Pete. I was just waiting for an flg 5 video, I only use it for clear and 2k which is what it excels in, I've had some incredible glass finishes with this gun, even painted a jaguar E type full respray with it. Cranked that puppy all the way to 2.3bar for clear and 2k 10% extra slow reducer bosh! 🤙🏾

Hi buddy, I've had an FLG5 for years and always enjoyed using it, I've had to replace the small nylon seal on the tip a few times, but otherwise, it has been fine.
The Sagola here can certainly give it a run for the money, but its price very much depends on where you are. Cheers, mate, I appreciate it 👍

Hi Pete, that was a good idea to have these to guns in a spray off together are they are quite similar but I would say the Sagola would be the fastest if they were both running full fluid and knowing Sagola I'm not surprised that it's the better made gun👌
They both did a great job on laying the basecoat with a nice smooth even finish, it would be great to see them together laying the clearcoat😁I know the FLG lays the clear very nice as I've used mine so maybe it would be hard to split these 2 for clear🤔
    Cheers Pete👍

Hi John, Yes, it was a logical thing for me to do putting these two up against each other, very similar in a lot of ways, although the price varies a lot depending where you are.
I paid the equivalent to £85 GBP for this one, Sprayguns Direct are currently £140 GBP so quite a lot of difference.
I will get a video of the Sagola for clear coat and have a bonnet on video I did in the summer with the FLG5, which came out lovely, so will get that up sometime too, cheers mate 👍

Felices Fiestas!

Great spraying, Pete! I saw the Pro XD some time ago and wondered how it represented the Sagola brand. Appears to be a decent pattern for a less flashy gun from Sagola. Unfortunately, in the US, the price has stayed around $200 for some time now which changes the value quite a bit. The FLG5 still isnt available here and probably never will be except in the HVLP version that comes with 3 different tips (not a fan of that version for obvious reasons). However, the price has also risen for the FLG5 to $140 before shipping from the UK to the US. Both good guns, but a bit out of touch for higher value, at least until Devilbiss either drops the price or adds another improved gun altogether in tradition. FLG4- FLG5-> FLG6? 😊

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Před 9 měsíci +1

Hi Boss, I was pleasantly surprised to be honest, when I ordered it I was hoping that it would be just a less exotic version of the 3300 which it essentially is although not at the expense of build quality because imo it's as good as the 3300 , so solid and reliable, it's not quite finished to such a high degree but something has to give I guess.
Sagola certainly seems to be expensive in the US and in the UK really, just goes to show its the market that dictates the price rather than the nett cost of manufacturing.
An FLG6 would be quite interesting, I know Devilbiss now made them in the UK wearas they used to make them in Brazil, which is where mine was made, we will see, cheers mate 👍

Hi Pete. Both guns seem to do well. It mite be that I have a soft spot for the Flg5 since it was my first "real" spray gun, but it seems to me that it layed the metallics slightly better and got coverage faster? Can't fault either. I have the 1.3/1.4/1.8 tips for the Flg5. I'm really liking the 1.3 for most bc/cc. I use my APa610 1.7 for HB primer. I've really been liking my APr500 1.3 for bc/cc. I can't believe the nice finishes I get with it. For bc metallics I run it full fan and 2.25-2.5 turns out fluid just under 29psi and for cc full fan/fluid at 33-35psi. Can't beat it for the money. Been playing around with my Lph400 1.3 silver cap. Its probably going to be my dedicated clear gun. Super fine finish and very low overspray at 16-22 psi. A little slow but that's OK for me. Cheers👍

Hi Marc , I really enjoyed using the Sagola. It's pretty good at most things, similar to the FLG5, but it's definitely a step up in build quality and nicer imo to use. It just feels better in the hand.
It's good that you're enjoying the R500 , they certainly are good for the money, I think that's why I was so disappointed by the R100 mini.
The LPH400 is a great gun. Those split tips definitely make a difference, particularly if you use a better quality clear coat as they can lay real thin super flat coats, as you say, they are great at lower pressures as well, cheers mate 👍

They are new around 200€, and Sagola is 150€ at the moment. I always liked faster guns, they suite me better. Might try out Sagola instead of Walcom Kombat for primer, they are about the same price at my location.
