My 4XE is my first Jeep! Traded my Prius prime plug-in hybrid for it and I’m STOKED. I love this thing and I’m no longer afraid of getting stuck 😂

@@GTGarageTalk the Prius was killing me but that 100% electric miles for my daily driving had me staying.
Glad Jeep came out with a PHEV. I will admit I DID have to invest in a Level 2 charger because the battery on this thing is about twice the size, but that was going to eventually happen anyway.
I’ve driven over 5k miles and if I could get my husband to trade in his car for a 4xe we would have 2 in the driveway.

Just ordered my 392 with the Xtreme Recon package. Wasn’t sure exactly how it looked until this video. Wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. So happy with my purchase should be arriving early 2022.

The only thing I wish my 4xe Rubicon had was the V8 sound. Aside from that, it's pretty much the same. Speed wise, it's got plenty of go.

@@GTGarageTalk Max regen wasn't working as well as when I first got it, after going into fuel and oil refresh mode at 1,700 miles and around 3,400 miles of mainly electric miles it started going into that made about ever 400 miles which it shouldn't have, the power to me just isn't there in electric or hybrid mode, but in E-save absolutely. It was also charging like 21 hrs a day between work and home as I didn't want to invest in the level 2 charger in case I didn't like it. It also has this weird jump when coming to a stop. Electric range was ok but 50 miles would have been better but I get it for the first time hybrid. I was also concerned about issues people were having and them being without a vehicle in a lot of cases for up to 2 months due to them waiting on parts to fix them. I drove a Sahara previous to the 4xe and really wanted to like the 4xe but it just wasn't for me. Yes it was a gas saver as I only filled up 3 times in 5 months but I am way happier in my as guzzler lol.

For everyday driving the torque and hp are more than any standard wrangler except the 392. The 392 costs significantly more up front, in gas and in maintenance. You really need a level 2 charger for the 4Xe. There are continuous software updates of which several have came out very recently latching max regen, changing max regen efficiency and so forth. All vehicle manufactures are waiting for parts. I have a 2016 dodge charger for work and it spent 2 months in the shop waiting for parts. The 4Xe isn't for everyone nor is the 392. It is awesome to have a bunch of great choices. Thanks Jeep.

@@jenbayko19 As a new 4xE Rubicon owner (having come from many other Jeeps), I have to agree with a lot of your gripes. I'm keeping mine because there's no way I could afford a 392 at this point, but if money were no object, I'd go 392 all-day. As for now, I am very happy with my 4xE and am making it mine by putting a lift and 37s with other personal mods for overlanding. Once I'm out on the trails, immersed in the places that it's able to take me, it won't really matter what engine is under the hood.

Great video! Amazing Jeeps! I don't know if it's because they didn't let you, but I wish there was a thorough walk around. Many in the forums are questioning which suspension (2 inch Mopar lift or something elese) and which shocks are on the 392 Xtreme Recon.

It was lack of time. We only had them for about 30 minutes, which included wheeling.

As a first time Wrangler owner, we love the 4xe Rubicon. We can hit difficult trails in Colorado on the weekends and hardly burn gas on the week days as my wife’s daily. Also offsets the cost of gas for my Power Wagon. If we had a 392 I might need to dig my own oil well and build a refinery ;)

Loving my 4xe! I did notice you didn't mention price in your comparison unless I missed it. The 4xe has the same amount of peak torque much sooner in the powerband and costs significantly less, especially after the tax credit. I'm assuming it's also a lot cheaper to insure and more fuel efficient as well. The 392 will impress your NASCAR fan friends more but I think that's about the only category it wins over the 4xe. The 4xe does give up almost 100 hp to the 392 but that is relatively meaningless. I hit the speed governor in my 4xe with no perceptible strain on the powertrain, and honestly I had no desire to go any faster as it was not feeling too sure footed at that speed.

No, we didn’t mention price as they are too far apart to matter for this comparison.
