  • The Philodo H8 dual motor, AWD, 2000 Watt eBike has been a blast to ride. The Philodo H8 has enough power to go faster, speed up quick, and pull harder through both wheels while not being too much for people that don't want to feel unsafe. This eBike provides a great balance of power, speed, and functionality without having having a much higher price tag.

    Looks like I was subscriber 100 😀 I commented once and it disappeared so I apologize if both show up.
    I have almost 5000 miles on mine and it is a blast. I changed my freewheel as I could not stand ghost peddling. Now I can peddle no matter how fast I go. I do have a video on my channel showing me changing it in 15 min, it is a real easy change and so worth it. I ride 50-60 miles a day. I am planning a dual battery setup so I can ride 100 miles a day if I want to. My wife asked my I ride so many miles, I say it makes me feel 16 again and I like that feeling. I also put a seat post suspension, and I wonder why I waited so long. I put almost 11k miles on my Hardtail Ecotric and wonder how I ever made it. Anyway, nice review. This bike is a blast to ride.

    On mine ive gotten through a set of pads at 700km, headset replaced and extender fitted, gear cables stretched and put the headlamp up on the handlebars, the torque is pretty good compared to my 250w bike, I've been riding in all weather including frost and snow, for the money its great and very comfortable, if you find it starts making weird noises, mine has slightly warped rotors and the kick stand came loose......but love mine, it's a keeper like you said 👌

    Thanks for your review. But did you skip mentioning it doesn't have any rear shocks? Was that a suspension seat you were using? I like a number of things about this bike, especially the price. But it seems a work in progress as the batteries and controllers are mounted outside the frame and rather vulnerable. Did you have to install the rear rack? Also I take it there's no option for using just the rear motor... And the range on the battery seems that it must be low. What kind of range have you been getting? I switched my regular ride to an Aniioki A8 because of the range failure of my Wallke H6. It's one of the first considerations in purchasing... I'd love to know more. Thank you for the effort and on your $$.

    • @LWTeBikeReviews
      @LWTeBikeReviews  Před 3 měsíci +1

      It has been a while since I made the video but I believe I mentioned that it only has front suspension. While hidden components or in frame components are really nice, they generally bump the price up. This is a good option where the price is manageable but you get a bike with solid performance and features. The range I quoted was worst case of using full throttle constantly. When you pedal, I believe it only uses one motor and you would be going slower and helping the bike instead of all on the electrical system. Doing this your range would increase dramatically.

    • @LWTeBikeReviews
      @LWTeBikeReviews  Před 8 měsíci

      Each taking their own 6 km ride? Yeah, I forget the exact number but I think I was able to do 20 miles top speed full power with a little left. If you are going slower speeds or pedaling with, you can dramatically increase that range. I am also pretty big so 20 miles is probably the lowest range possible. You can do a lot of things to increase that range if you need to.

    Thanks. This video helped me decide to purchase the Philodo H8. It arrived today and I am the process of assembling it. One question that remains unanswered is how is the power dain having front and back motors compared to just having a rear motor? And, is there a way to only use the rear motor if there is no need be using both, especially if the bike uses less power over the course of the same amount of miles (ie long flat road riding)?

    • @LWTeBikeReviews
      @LWTeBikeReviews  Před 5 měsíci

      My pleasure and hope the bike works great for you! I have not had a chance to test it, but I heard that throttle uses both tires but pedal assist only uses rear motor reducing power consumption. So, riding with the bike through has the potential to really increase range. Also, slowing down a bit will really help. I would test for ya but I have the bike in storage for the winter.

    • @nrnoble
      @nrnoble Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@LWTeBikeReviews After reading the owners manual I discovered that the front motor only engages when using the throttle, and recommends using peddle assist to conserve the battery for longer rides.
      It appears this bike is sold by a few different brands with slightly different features. One brand has a button to engage\disenage the front motor and has rear suspension, otherwise the bikes are near identical. My general speculation is that there is a single manufacture that makes the bikes for resellers based on reseller's design specs.

    What do you mean you have to straighten the bars? What if you have to drive drunk? Then you'll be pulling to the right...Great review. Looks exactly like the SMRLO bike and has the same specs I was looking at but the SMRLO bike now has full suspension. Allegedly, if you pedal the SMRLO bike only the rear motor comes on, with the throttle both motors come on, can you confirm this? It would be a good way to increase your range by just doing a little ghost pedaling once and a while.

    • @LWTeBikeReviews
      @LWTeBikeReviews  Před 10 měsíci

      I will see what I can do. I know when I hit the throttle, the front wheel spins so that does both motors. I will see what I can find out about pedaling but you are right, that would dramatically increase range. Slowing down a bit would as well. Maintaining 35 MPH draws a lot of power.

    • @chrissinclair8705
      @chrissinclair8705 Před 10 měsíci

      For Sure. I've seen it confirmed on other bikes with a different brand name. Usually they are all built at the same factory and just put whatever logo the reseller wants on there. I guess you could put the bike on the stand and tilt it and move the pedals to see if only the back wheel has power. Be sure to have it on level 1 so it doesn't go too crazy. Lol. I plan to buy the same bike but it's a "version 3" with a full suspension in the winter so I'll have it shipped to me by spring.@@LWTeBikeReviews

      I have ridden dual motor ebike s in the snow... it's a no go for me with the front motor. The front tire will spin out on you due to lack of weight. I commute year round in South Dakota, and I wouldn't ride a dual motor ebike in the winter. I have tested....to sketchy for me lol. Ice, even with studded tires was a no go. For my winter commuting now, I ride a Himiway Cruiser on studded tires and I never spin out and haven't been tossed off as of yet. Traction is great with the rear motor.

      @LWTeBikeReviews  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I am actually going to make a video about that so hit that subscribe button, but honestly, I would not focus on wattage. That is usually the go to for understanding power but I don't think it should be. One 500 watt bike can be completely different than others. Personally, if you are not looking for anything crazy but a solid road ride, I would try to find something that has medium power. Enough to get through intersections and feel a little safer because you can go. I would figure this out by watching CZcams reviews and getting a realistic idea of how they function. Hope that helps.

      I believe I said that in the video (I don't remember 100 percent), but I think I made it 20 miles full throttle worse case riding. Pedaling or slowing down would extend that dramatically. When you pedal I believe it only uses one motor which also helps with range. Throttle uses both.

I am going to guess the Ariel has a better feel and overall suspension setup, and maybe some better components overall. The Philodo may feel more like a bike instead moped feel as you can move the seat up and down and get in position to properly pedal where I don't think you get that as much with the Ariel. Once the battery was lower like you mentioned, I believe I was getting around 19 miles per hour if I remember correctly. It was slowing down quick as the battery dipped low.

      @@LWTeBikeReviews I got mine 3 days ago and I’m totally loving it. Because I live I Japan and the laws are very strict over here, I went to the police station yesterday to learn what I need to do. They told me to go to the city office and get a license plate because the power “potential” even if I take off the battery, the mere fact that this bike can do 50kms p/h puts this bike into a Moped category. So now I have a license plate hanging off the back of my bike, but the good thing is, I can ride it up to its full speed and even use the throttle legally over here. To be honest though, I’ll only be sitting around 35kms p/h most of the time because the roads are too crowded and I have a family to think about.
      All that aside, the H8 is an incredible bike. Just need to get the sprocket ⚙️ changed to 11-28. 14 just doesn’t cut it on this bike and I’m not pro enough to do it myself.

      If the ride is manageable (distance) on your current bike, I would recommend sticking to that. You are going to get more exercise and considering exercise and saving money are your goals, I would put the work in with your bike. If the ride is farther where you talk your self out of it and drive, and the eBike may help you stick to riding a bike, then maybe you could justify it.

    The minute I see the stem crooked I can tell its just to promote the bike and not a real review 😅. It's a great looking bike. Unfortunately for me it didn't work, with just 32 miles on it the back motor fail and the controller started tonget really hot giving me error E007 and E009. The motor started to make lots of weird noises and stop working. I love the frame and the feel of the bike. I live in a area with a lot of steep hills. Im 6' 238lbs the bike is supposed to be support up to 300 plus pounds. I returned it since i bought it through amazon. If you do think about buying it again at some point, feel free to reach out and I will let you know if I have run into issues over time.

      @extemos6476 Před 11 měsíci +2

      @LWTeBikeReviews I'm kidding about the stem. I know you're trying to give your most hones review. Unfortunately for Philodo, they should've sent the stem tight and straight it was the same case for my bike the headset and stem became really lose without me realizing it. It's not a big deal for us who know how to fix that problem, but if they want their bikes to work out of the box that is something to consider. I loved the bike but I wasn't lucky enough I got a defective one. The customer service was willing to pay for the swap of the motor at my local bike shop and I was going to do it but then I noticed the controller under the bike was getting insanely hot and showed me a different error code doing my research I came to the conclusion the controller was also faulty. And I just sent it back, I really enjoyed the bike specially the frame and the breaks. This bike with better electronics would be a beast but you know what they say. You get what you pay for. I hope it serves you well and you don't run into any issues. I'd like to give it another shot, but for now I'm gonna keep watching videos on it and see if I come to the conclusion to re buy it. It is important to note in most states in the US, a 1000W ebike is considered an electric moped, and as such would have different laws applied to it and this could limit your legal access to many trails that don't allow electric mopeds. We in the ebike community need to know, understand and adhere to local, state and federal laws so we can be responsible riders.

If you were to compare this to a Fabulous Road Warrior X2, it would be night and day the power at take off and even top speed. The front tire should spin and much higher speeds faster. The Fabulous Havoc X2 also. And the Ariel Rider Grizzly.. All more peak torque and power. Even the Wired bikes with just a single rear hub are higher speeds faster than this I'm thinking.. And I don't think this bike is any faster than my Ariel Rider Kepler. About 35-36 throttle only. I'm sure up hills this bike is better than my Kepler. I'm surprised I never got back to you, so strange that I find myself stumbling on your channel again today, but there is a reason for everything sometimes: Anyway to pick up where we left off, at the beginning of my E-Bike journey when I saw these 100.00 Ebike Pop Up Ad's I had no perspective to draw upon, now I do, I think those Pop Up ads and sources were either fraudulent, or they were an exaggeration of the finished assembly of a Ebike conversion kit. There is no way they were a full E-bike with battery and motor and tires and a frame, I mean how could that be possible? Anyway, here this month of September 2023, I share with you the 2nd best value I've see in the E-bike marketplace
      from a motor and battery range bang for your buck: It's this model and this link specifically you must use to get this 2000 Watt motor with 18 AMP UL certified battery with
      built in rear basket for 1120.00 (yes that's right no joke, but here is the bad part) There are no reviews on CZcams from actual owners of this brand. This brand I think has been around a while, so it's strange there is no independent reviews for them. I suggest you reach out to them, and tell them, they need CZcams exposure and you want to review the Ebike for them, (maybe they'll send you one right out) hope so, I'm dying to see a independent review of this model's suspension and rear rack build quality. Here is the link:
      www.amazon.com/CRIPRO-Electric-Brushless-Mountain-Removable/dp/B0CGL6XQP5/ref=sr_1_219?keywords=adult%2Belectric%2Bbicycles%2B2000&qid=1695924729&s=outdoor-recreation&sr=1-219&th=1
      1269.00 with 150.00 coupon as of this comment left 28 Sept, 2023 for 1120.00
      This is probably the cheapest 2000 Watt E-Bike model out there , as there are not many offering this in the 1200.00 and under market. What is really unique also is the frame design: It's unique in that, you could with zipties and a backpack, easily attach a 2nd battery to the frame section closest to the front wheel to carry as a spare battery when
      the 18 AMP battery runs out of juice, (this is something you can't easily do, many E-Bike frames make it hard to do this, but with this CRIPRO one, I could see it done safely)
      P.S. Please ask for the ''green'' model I think that would give better visibility in both day and night VS the grey model.
      If you get this E-bike, let me know, and I'll pitch it with what I know to do about the lack of it's rear suspension, and how to upgrade that.

      @BucketHeadMark Před 11 měsíci +2

      If you use pedal only, it uses the rear motor alone with the throttle it uses both motors. That helps with battery use. I've watched a lot of reviews of this bike and will probably add it to my other bike in the near future. Good review, I liked and subscribed 👍🏻

      I think there are so many variables. @chadsebike did a throttle only 14 miles full throttle, then a mix and he got about 30 miles. I am sure if you stay on pas 3 or under it would easily do 40. I did a range test [on my channel] I rode for 5 hours and ended up at almost 60 miles. I still had 2 bars over a 1/2, so I am sure I could have went another 20 [wife was tired LOL] I rode 34 miles on pas 2 and then pas 3 for the rest. I think I could do a 100 miles if I babied it. Pas 1 is really hard to ride as it is so slow. Pas 2 is tolerable especially on a rails to trails route I did. When I bumped it up to 3 it felt like I was flying and so much fun. I am almost at 5k miles and still love the bike.😀

    • @LWTeBikeReviews
      @LWTeBikeReviews  Před 11 měsíci

      Completely agree. I am a big guy and moving all that weight at full throttle and top speed is going to drain the battery quickly. Slowing down or assisting the bike by pedaling should extend the range dramatically.

    • @LWTeBikeReviews
      @LWTeBikeReviews  Před 7 měsíci

      Sort of. I actually think 20 miles was not too bad for how much power I was pulling at a constant top speed. If I were to slow down a bit or pedal with the bike, the range would extend dramatically. But yes, if you plan to do throttle only at top speed, you are going to need more battery if you want to go further than that.

      Yeah, higher voltage, better controller, torque sensor. There are things that could be better and change the experience, but that would put it at a different price point and for a more extreme user base. I think this one is meant for riders that still want a good ol ebike experience but with a little more power. Not going extreme though.

    The real question is, what kind of range does this bike get with dual motors sucking up one battery? No offense to your review, but I feel like ya skipped the most important test. This is critical information as the websites are notorious for overstating how much range these bikes get, which is why I always come to to CZcams to get the truth. Dual motors sounds fun, but without decent range, the bike is a waste in my opinion. So, how many miles do you get off a full charge using throttle only?

    • @LWTeBikeReviews
      @LWTeBikeReviews  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Check out the video at the 1:20 mark. That is included. I was able to make it 20 miles. It still had some left but it was really slowing down. Now, this is worst case scenario. If you pedal or slow down, you can get much better range but full throttle and my 225 lb. body.... around 20 miles.

    • @LWTeBikeReviews

      Exercise. Extending range. Experience. Rider preference. Not sure exactly what you wanted to learn, but this is still a bike that you can pedal with up through PAS 4. The only time you can't is when you go full speed in PAS 5. There are better pedal focused options out there, but this still provides a great balance of motorized, pedaling, or mixed ride opportunities.

      I see what you are saying. For me, it is the mixed experience. I like bikes. I enjoy riding around getting exercise. An eBike takes that to the next level. I can still pedal, exercise, and go places but I can go further, faster, and take breaks when I need to. Sort of a best of both worlds.
