    I own one and have about 300 miles on it. This review is pretty spot-on. I was wondering when you would review it. Thank You for taking the time to produce this video.
    *****
    What I would add:
    1. The rear shock is a shock in name only. It requires a really hard knock to make it move at all. It is getting replaced on my bike with a lighter mechanical spring shock with a compression and rebound adjustment (about 55 bucks). The front shock is nicely compliant. I weigh about the same as the poster of this video. **Post Edit** a new shock was installed to day, a DNM DV-22AR 165mm with a 750 pound per inch spring. Much better. Only complaint was that the bushings had to be shortened to fit the cantilever mechanism on top. ** (Epilogue: Moved to a 650 pound per inch spring, and it was even better. For lighter riders who are under 200 pounds, a 550 pound per inch spring would probably be a better choice).
    2. Battery life: Flat out-dual motors, 31.1 MPH (according to the bike's display), about 12 to 14 miles on level streets. PAS mode 3, with light peddling gets you around 30 miles at 21.1 MPH (with front motor switched off).
    3. For riders under 6 foot tall you will have to lower the seat to it's near minimum height. This makes the bike-seat-taillight at the rear rack height. This results in poor visibility of the tail light. Suggestion: Get an uprated tail light and mount it where the rear reflector is on the rack. (I suggest the WSDCAM taillight (Amazon), which includes multimode tail light, an automatic brake light when you slow down, turn signals, and a loud alarm. It also includes a horn, but that is redundant.)
    4. For serious commuters on this bike, consider adding a second battery. The Zeegr battery was the "promised" 22.4 Ah battery, and is labelled as such. But, it is only a 20 Ah battery (13S4P 21700 cells, rated at 5 Ah per cell (for 20 Ah of capacity).
    5. Dont lift the bike by it's seat and handlebars. The two #10 screws which hold the back of the seat to the mount will strip out and the seat will come off in your hands. I fixed that by replacing the screws with larger #12 screws and upgrading the washers under the screws. I also NOW know to not lift by the seat, use the rear rack as a lift point.
    6. The street handling of this bike is vastly improved by running street tires, especially higher pressure street tires. (I suggest the Innova Hybrid 30 PSI tires, mine are ran at 25 PSI until the rear shock is replaced). I suspect these tires would work well in sand as well.
    7. Energy costs: It costs me 5 cents worth of electricity to commute to and from work (a total of 10 miles). I couldn't start my car and drive a block on 5 cents worth of gas.
    *****
    The bike is equally fast on one motor as two (on level hard surface ground). What the second motor gains you is acceleration rate, and the ability to run over soft surfaces (sand, mud, etc).
    The stock orange reflectors were replaced with 3M Scotchlite spoke reflectors, to eliminate how much the orange reflectors "unbalance" the tires. Note the wheel hop at the beginning of the video when he has the bike lifted to test the motors out.
    ******
    This is the same bike as the SMLRO v3. The SMLRO v3 bike has a genuine 22.4 Ah battery (which weighs 8/10ths of a Pound more than the Zeegr battery). The SMLRO will go 35 Mph.
    Please note, the SMLRO battery has a 5-pin connector at the battery, the Zeegr uses a 4-pin connector. You cannot simply swap the battery.

      Thanks for your input. I have 2 questions for you. Does this bike have 2 controllers or 1 and how many amps? And does the front tire interfere with your foot in turns? I plan on wearing heavy snow boots and knee boots and I wear a size 12? Thanks for any input.

    • @addertooth1
      @addertooth1 Před 7 měsíci +7

      @@davidmarcoux6349 It has two controllers (side by side) in the box attached to the seat post, which is above the bottom bracket. And yes, I have dragged my toe across the front tire in tight (slow) turns when I don't have the axle of the peddle under the ball of my foot. i.e. If the peddle axe is too close to the middle or back of my foot, then there can be a problem.
      As long as your foot is positioned right (or you don't have size 12+ shoes), then you should be fine. The best test would be to put on the boots, position the ball of your foot on the axle of the pedal, and swing the handlebar too it's extremes. I hate to say it, but with a size 12 boot, you are definitely in a grey area.
      In my menu, the controllers are "set" to 28 Amps. I haven't felt the need to tinker with that setting (yet). I am about to mount a secondary (and possibly tertiary) battery on the rear rack. Once I have all of those usable amps available, I may look more into the controllers themselves. Personally, I feel drawing 2Kw from one pack is just pushing it. High discharge currents increase the rate of aging of any battery pack. If I go triple pack, then I could potentially cruise 90 miles at 21mph under throttle only.

    • @addertooth1
      @addertooth1 Před 7 měsíci +7

      @@davidmarcoux6349 On the boot clearance, I went out and made a measurement. From the front of the pedal, to the front wheel (at it's closest point), the distance is 5 inches.
      If your boots have a big rounded front which is tall, it may contact the fender. This could be addressed by trimming back the plastic front fender for more clearance.
      Summary: Put on your boot, put your booted foot on the pedal, with the ball of the foot over the axle of the pedal. If 5 inches or more of your foot sticks out beyond the front of the pedal, you will most certainly rub.
      Strong compression of the front shocks (from a hard bump while the wheel is turned, or heavy braking while the wheel is turned) will reduce the distance a little. But, most people don't jam on the brakes in snow while turning. However, you could hit a hard bump while the wheel is turned hard left/right.

    He burns through a lot of JUICE but you can get some decent battery life and mileage on this bike if you don't go beast mode. I keep the front motor off and keep it at PA2. In my longest ride Strava says I did 28 miles, with moving time of 3:20 hours. 1070ft elevation and 8.4mph average, with a top speed of 32mph. This ride was 90% on mostly level dirt trails. The battery meter had switched to one bar of battery power just as I finished. I weigh about 190. I figure might have been able to get another 5 miles. This is not bad for such a big bike.

    Just recently got mine (Canada). I had to wait for the shipment which was enroute when I bought it. Shipped from Montreal. Purchase was painless, delivery happened when promised, assembly was straightforward. On normal flat ground the extra motor is not really noticeable - the bike doesn't accelerate very much quicker. Where you do notice is starting out on a hill or simply going up a hill. This is in comparison to another ebike I own. On a gravel hill or loose soil the bike will spin front wheel briefly - that's a surprising feeling of torque. I tried the bike out on several steep rough surface hills and the bike is capable of propelling me up the hill faster than I'd want to go - had to use less than full power.

  • @chuckwolf9869
    @chuckwolf9869 Před 5 měsíci +3

    Some a comparing this bike to the Philodo H8 but there a a few differences between the 2 that can be pros or cons based on your preferences. This one has a selectable Rear or AWD switch, rear suspension 160mm rotors and 21 amp controllers with motors that peak at 1150 watts on a full battery charge. Whereas the Philodo has system where the throttle engages AWD and Pedal Assist is Rear drive only without the need for a switch, The Philodo is a Hard Tail, but some of us actually prefer that, and can be countered with a decent suspension seatpost. The Philodo comes with 180mm rotors. finally the Philodo comes with 27 amp controllers for a peak output of 1500 watts on a full charge, the bigger controllers are the reason for the "controller in a bag" as the controller built into the Zeeger and others is limited to 21 amps, so Philodo opted for a separate battery mount and controller

    Awesome videos like always gets me hyped when you upload in this channel or juicedjoyrides ❤
    Using 2 motors is more efficient than using 1 motor, because lets say that you are power outputting 2000 watts and you decide to use single motor for that and that would be harsh for that motor, but if you use dual motors it will split the power between them like 1000watts rear and 1000watts in the front.
    Someone correct me if im wrong.

    • @addertooth1
      @addertooth1 Před 6 měsíci +2

      It is complicated. Most brushless motors have a "sweet spot" where they are efficient. If you are pushing a motor at the ragged edge, you are producing heat and less mechanical motion per watt utilized. As long as the "ONE" motor is in it's sweet spot, its efficiency will be high. A motor pushed harder will have the coils approaching "saturation", which leads to more energy being used to produce HEAT instead of rotational force.
      The motors on the Zeegr are reputed to be 82 Newton-meters of torque. This equates to about 60 foot-pounds of torque per motor. This gives a total of 120 foot pounds of torque. However, to preserve the internal gears in the hub, the controller has a "soft ramp up" when you peg the throttle. So your first second or so does not unleash full torque immediately. This is why the creator of the video had to take multiple stabs at the 0 to 20 time, until he realized if you tag the throttle, let off, then immediately tag the throttle, this can defeat the soft ramp up feature. This gave about a 5 second 0 to 20 time.

    What do you think about this vs the Philodo H8 aside from the obvious lack of rear suspsension?

    • @addertooth1
      @addertooth1 Před 7 měsíci +3

      I have one. For me the rear factory shock is too stiff, and feels like there is little or no suspension in the rear. I am upgrading mine to a 55 dollar shock unit which is "sprung lighter". The H8 also has less favorable location for the controller boxes. Some have complained they get rubs from the wheel on the H8 under full suspension compression on the early models, they have since moved that box down closer to the crank-set to resolve this issue.

      I'm not crazy about the look of the bike but, it's probably a little better than a lot of these new inexpensive AWD bikes, because it runs off of a Bafang system and it looks like it comes with a rebranded RST fork witch has more robust drop outs so it should be able to handle the torque of the front motor. I don't trust the dropout of a lot of these budget suspension forks with a front motors.

      It's very similar to your Philodo. It's probably made by the same manufacturer in the same factory . I think the only differences are that the Philodo has the second motor controller in a bag. It does not have dual suspension and does not have a button to turn off the front motor. You can get a suspension seat post to make up for that. The Philodo only uses the front motor when you use the throttle, which I wish the Zeegr still had as an option. When I need extra power I have to hit the button, make sure my PA level is at least 3, and then use the throttle. It would be nice to be able to do that in one motion by just using the throttle but also be able to use the front motor at other times.
      BTW, love your videos.

    I got my bike today and put it together. I took it for a test ride and Holy Shit this bike moves. I am not a big peddler so this one I think is perfect. It was getting late so I could not ride as much as I wanted too but tomorrow is another day and I plan to rip it up!
    Update: After almost 2 weeks on this bike and I really enjoy riding this beast. Any terrain you want to master you only have to point your front tire (with both motors engaged and PAS > or = 01) turn the throttle and hang on. I;m telling ya, you will go with the power! It took me a few days to get use to the weight and power and now I only use the rear motor on the street and paved trails, which we have tons of them here by Chicago, When I want to rip dual motors engaged with the touch of a button and again hang on your going for a ride. Now I spent the first 3 days setting it up for the power and speed I like and this bike as it is perfect for me. I;m 5'10 and 165 lbs and I feel this is how the default settings were set. Put it together while charging (topping off) your battery jump on it and ride. As for range I can't really say as sometimes, because I pedal all the time and the battery meter reads full on short trips. Even if I cruise around town running errands within a 5 miles plus radius. When you buy this ebike I highly recommend pedaling, which feels really good on this Zeegr S1. Guarantee you get the stated mileage if not more just by putting the pedals down, it is good for you too so. They should name this bike "The Ripper".

    • @jdnuhdfdf
      @jdnuhdfdf Před 6 měsíci +3

      It depends on your riding surface and riding styles. I've had the bike for about 1.5 months. I can get about 30 mile range on dirt trails with a total elevation of 1k feet using PA2 and single motor and me pedaling most of the time. I can quickly activate the dual motor to power through mud, sand, gravel and other terrain that could prove challenging for bikes with standard size tires. The extra torque from the second motor also comes in handy when i need good acceleration for crossing road intersections, or climbing tough hills. I've yet to encounter a hill where I had to walk the bike. I live in a semi-mountainous area. After my ride, I'm exhausted, so this range is good enough for me.
      Now, If you spend most of you ride on pavement or asphalt then perhaps this is not the bike for you.

    • @acerkrt
      @acerkrt Před 6 měsíci

      @@jdnuhdfdf i get it but I've yet to go up hills on a single motor bike with a good assist in peddling with much of a problem. If you are talking huge long winding mountains than of course not but that's where I think the battery drain of duel motors would actually be more troublesome . If this was a 40 ah battery bike made with a lighter frame than yeah maybe but to me it's a gimmick to sell bikes . But if you get 30 miles at your pace I guess that's a lot of conservative low mid speed riding that isn't bad at all . They really got to do better on Cranks and gears with all of these Ebikes tho. Ghost peddling on pas 2 is why battery drain is such an issue. By next Christmas I see a front, rear and middrive motor ebike out there . What's next after that

    • @jdnuhdfdf
      @jdnuhdfdf Před 6 měsíci

      @@acerkrt I agree on the gears. With this particular bike, any level above PA2 and you're hardly doing any work. I believe there's a way to hack the display to adjust the help given at specific PA levels but I have felt the need. PA2 works for me. It gets me to about 14mph and I work to go 15mph.
      If I had to do it again, I would probably go with the ReAspire Hurricane. It's at about the same price point but is a very different bike. It has a 500W mid motor and torque sensor. Torque sensors are said to have a more natural feel for pedaling. One drawback is that it's not a fat tire bike, but I see lots of people with standard tires on the muddy dirty trails where I ride, so it's likely not a big deal. The other drawback is that there is no throttle. I do use the throttle quite a bit to cross dangerous high speed roads quickly, but the torque sensor on the ReAspire might be just as responsive. The ReAspire is also legal in a lot more places.

    • @acerkrt
      @acerkrt Před 6 měsíci +2

      @@jdnuhdfdf yeah I tell you I have ridden mid drive Ebikes and I don't care too much for them . Yes they are better climbers but you will also be using much more leg work and to be honest they are just slightly easier rides than a good regular light weight mountain bike . I'm not in tip top shape and I'm a smoker so Ebikes brought me back to how I rode when I was in my healthier younger days and I like you really don't need the 23 plus speeds. I like the 16 17 mph ride with some leg assist and throttle just to start up the bike from a dead stop or to keep balance going slow by just tapping the throttle for steadiness without peddling and sending the bike into 12 mph . Throttle is great for those 2 purposes but I'm more of a pas 2 or 3 mode rider especially in the streets on NYC where I live where car ,bike and people traffic are insane . My first Ebike was a cheap 250 watt hyper eride that was like 300 bucks and I tell you it was a great bike for 15 mile rides . No throttle but even after having bought the lectrics and the engwes and the 750 + Ebikes over the years I really found that there isn't that much of a huge difference in power from 500 wall to 1000 . 250 had me doing well and I'm 6 foot 2 250 pounds. Hills is another story but even still it wasn't a huge difference and the lower watt motors did feel better on the paddling . My first 250 watt bike only had a 7.5 ah battery and 36 volts and hot me around my 8 or 9 mile rides just fine without panicking if the battery was going to run out and alot of the times when I was on flats I turned the bike off and coasted like a normal bike do to the lighter frame and smaller battery. I guess it's just preference. Now my favorite bike is my golfing Engwe ep2 pro and it was 900 bucks on a deal that came with two 12.8 ah batteries . It rides great after 2000 miles now and I have the spare battery on the rack just Incase I ever needed to swap out .
