This might be the strongest "towing power" electric bicycle with pedals I've ever rode. Top speed is not the specialty of this machine, this ebike is excellent for towing heavy weight and hill climbing situations, this could be a good hunting ebike. This video showcases the massive 160nm of torque the Fission Hellbender is capable of delivering courtesy of the Bafang Ultra mid drive motor powered with a strong 48v 20ah battery pack. I drained the battery a bit quicker than most ebikes I review on this channel, but I did push it very hard since it was capable of handling extreme towing and sand riding. Hope you enjoy the video and if you wanna grab on of these please click the link a the top of this text to support my channel and get the best price.

I like it, but it has no business being 4 grand.
Just get a telaria or whatever it's called at that price/review
Damn. I think the light bee is around that price. Right?
@@spottheturtle9568 the light bee is a a little more, but the ERide pro s is that price.
Yep I could build one that goes 100 mph + for £3K. Not that I'd go over 15mph living in the UK. Lol
When you start getting into high-end brand-name components, mid drive motors, higher capacity batteries etc., price starts to go up.
Man I was afraid that chain was going to snap and whiplash on your calf during the incline test with the weights
"this ebike is excellent for towing heavy weight and hill climbing situations", exactly the type of e-bike I'm looking for!
Thank you for the review, especially with the trailer, the added weights and your usual hill climbing test at the beginning.
There are smaller chain rings and adapters for the 620 if you need more low-end as well as shorter crank arms for short legs or avoiding pedal strikes on serious off-road rides.
Seems like its own category of ebike. Better than other "hunting" ebikes I've seen. I think dual hub motors would suit such a bike better, especially with that trailer hitch position. Would have liked so see braking tests with 190lbs on trailer.
Mfr needs to add derailleur protector, headlight, taiIight, turn signals, right hand throttle, bigger rotor, and make it in 20 inch wheel size
If you get a chance, the hellbender max is even better...it WILL climb what u have thrown at this model if you have traction...its incredible. Fun review!
Although irrelevant for an e-bike review/test (for us city folk anyway), I enjoyed that sand berm test at 21:47. Agree, I don't think any bike would make it up that berm, unless the bike has a track drive (think snowmobile or M1 Abrams ).
How much difference does cassette derailer gearing & free rolling makes, in combination?
If right gear+power combo is used on regular commute.
Does it increase range?
happy can you do a video on bike trailers? for kids and and groceries? building materials, thanx man.
I have a Biktrix with this motor, but I have a Sram 11x1 driveset. I can tell you are used to hub drive motors. With this motor, you really have to use the gears, like driving a motorcycle. If you want natural pedal assist feel, but still want big torque, the Bafang Ultra is the way to go. Just make sure you run a high quality chain and check it for stretch, because that motor will wear out chains.
Would be very helpful if you would include a review section on all bikes, of the control panel, what settings are necessary to ride the bike, to get max. speed, and what settings and functons are available at the control panel, and which are not. Was this review of the 750 or 1000W bike?? Tires look like the 4.7" tire on the more expensive bike.
It's 750w max in eco, 1500w max in Sport. I have the same motor and controller on a Biktrix
Can you review the Fuel Fluid 2s?
I have the Keteles K800 Pro, a dual motor 23ah 2000 watt 48v for $1300 shipped. Because both wheels drive it goes up any hill, goes 35 mph and seems to be such a better buy than this bike. I can't seem to justify spending 3 to 4 times the money for a bikes that really do not offer much more performance.
The Philodo H8 he reviewed already is the same exact bike as yours.
No rear suspension....but I agree, 4k is a lot of cash.
I have the eunoura version of this bike and I race mine. It's essentially a fat tire Enduro/down hill bike. It's definitely worth $4k.
Just an fyi for these powerful mid-drives. On throttle you can often get higher top speeds by choosing a lower gear. This motor will spin at 160+ rpm. Much faster than you can pedal. But top speed is limited on these by power. Mine will hit 4km/h faster on gear 7 than gear 8
Perhaps he misspoke, but riding at nearly full throttle “all day” is a little misleading. If you’re pulling 1500 watts continuously from a 960 watt hour battery, you’ll get about 40 minutes from full charge to dead. Realistically more like 30 minutes before range anxiety kicks in.
Any chance you are going to try the new Himiway zebra D5 Pro (mid-drive) ?
Did you try the Philodo H8 on that sand hill?
By comparison a 300cc Honda motorcycle has a torque figure of only 27Nm.
But I got the feeling you were having massive fun this day. For someone who has a small business this rig with the trailer will cover a lot of tasks.
I wish these bikes had the ability to run 2 batteries. 20Ah goes quick with fat tire ebikes.
I want to see a review of the quilbix bike
I have the eunoura branded version of this bike and it's definitely not a commuter bike. Its a fat tire Enduro race bike. And yes its definitely worth the $4k+ when youre using for what the frame design if meant for which is downhill bombing
As usual, another entertaining and informative review by Matt. (Indeed, I have four e-bikes and don't need another; but I like watching THTV's reviews to stay up on what's what, and being entertained watching the happenings in Santa Monica, where my ex-GF lives.)
Regarding this bike, it seems a tad much for what it is, but I duly note you get what you pay for (e.g., that Bafang; quality brakes, frame, and full suspension).
Interesting they don't include front and rear lights. The website shows the front light listed for $40. Assuming it cost them $20 wholesale, why not just include it on their $4,000 bike. Not sure what's going on there.
Thinking about it. They are probably thinking that these will be used out in the woods where most people will upgrade this to the brightest light!
Great power. Aluminum frame. Tough. Mid drive. Cool. Great review, thanks!
can u review the nireeka mega 1500?
Do you think philodo H8 AWD can go up that hill
In which speed you climb the hill?
How long until you're attaching a doggie basket to all your review bikes for that puppy.
You'll add a whole new demographic draw to your channel with that puppy
Can you give us the sound level in decibels ? I have an old e-bike and the whining of the motor really is annoying.
Could we get a link for the trailer please?
*"If you like a big rack..."* 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 *BEEFY!*
*Your pup is adorable!*
I bought this bike based on this review. I received a bike that would not go as fast as tail Happy said that it would. Also, the bike had a pronounced clunk coming from the motor, confirmed by a local bike shop, to Fission. Fission Bikes did not offer to replace the bike or the clunking motor, and refused to pay return shipping. Beware of Fission Bikes and this bike.
The link you post takes you to the 750 W model not the Bafang Ultra 620 1000W which is $4,800
Also, learn to back off the power for a second when you shift, otherwise you'll be replacing chains and cassettes all the time. Thanks, I enjoy your reviews and am pleased you are starting to review higher end bikes.
I know the mid Bosch motor on my bike auto releases drive for a split second to allow smooth changes , no crunching etc , I wonder if this does the same , or as you say ripped up chains and cassettes , I home it has an extra strong chain to cope with the torque 😁
I'm surprised they didn't include a shift sensor on that bike. Mine has the same motor and has a shift sensor. The plug is there, so it should be included, especially at that price.
Yeah, almost all the bafangs have shift sensor port so I don't really know what's going on here.
Cool bike. It should have 203 mm rotors. Grease that motor so the gears aren't so loud.
I bet it’s a lot of fun to ride.
Oh my god new puppy coolio😅
For that price and power, it should have at least a 40ah battery, otherwise seems like it would definitely be a fun shredder.
can you shift it when using the throttle?
He keeps doing it in video. Loudness results. Not recommended.
What trailer is that
all the cool kids are waxing their chains, and staying out of jail by obeying the rules of the road.
Wish you could test mine. 34mph but built by me. Its on my channel. Even tows stuff and rolls on a car wheel
I bought a 250 Ninja from 2012 for a grand.
Can the dual motor ebikes clim that sand hill?
A lot of times the steeper the hill the less traction you can get down to the front wheel on a dual wheel drive motor
bafang is releasing the m630 late this year most likely with 230 nm of torque and a 40a controller so you will see even stronger bikes than this soon.
Will it bolt into place of the 620?
@@stanleyn.2476yes its a direct bolt on it has the same shape but depending on the ebikes battery output it might not be able to supply the m630 enough juice.
@@Timbodacious Sweet! Thanks.
Might as well get a edirtbike and add a petal kit at these price points
Some dude walks into the gym in your building to start his workout. "...where'd all the weights go?"
Nice bike. The power reminds me of my 60v system with 1000w bafang motor that I put on my rad bike
4K 😳.
In 1982 I bought a KZ750E for $3100
I wish you would add a no hands segments to your videos
🤔 This is an expensive (and competition to) Hemingway Cobra Pro model with the smart and useful benefit of a trailer that is attached to a FRAME MOUNTED rear rack. Not bad. Not bad at all!! Great review, California Dude. 👍
Frey as well
I wish so bad you had a review of the NIREEKA MEGA 1500 .. pulling the trigger on it in a couple days , wish i had a video from you on it . none of the others are even close to your quality of video bro. Just sayin
You’re supposed to say on your left when you pass foot traffic or they’re going to start complaining about e-bikes flying by. On the east coast anyway
💯‼️
I don't care if it makes me breakfast after a night of loving... Not $4K... ill buy a car.
That thing has a lot of torque but way too expensive.
Aa someone who has a heart promblem and cant really pedal and cant have my drivers licesne, electric bikes are perfect but the price ranges on these are ridiculous.... almost easier to get a cheap car. Trying to find one i can get back and forth to work, decent speeds as im near main roads. Im 6'4 and 215 pounds. Any recommendations? Anything 2k and cheaper ideally
There's many for 2 grand or cheaper. What kind of range do you need?
I got similar problems. I bought the Fucare Libra for $1199. Got 1300 miles on it so far with no problems.
@spottheturtle9568 I'm looking at a 10 mile commute to work, an my worry is if the battery does die I won't be able to pedal all the way home.
@twinge2254 what's your top speed with it? I know I'm not going to get any 50 mph bikes for around 2k but I need something that will go at least 35 40.
Wired freedom runs about 2k. I have a VELOTRIC Nomad. I’m 6’2 245lbs and it has been great. $1400!!!
If you had to spemd your money and could buy only 1 bike would you buy this one? Have you ever done a review of a QUIET KAT APEX PRO? Have you ever done a review of a high end bike like a GAS GAS or Husqvarna? Keep up the good work. By you reviewing all these bikes it really helps me make my decision.
Can you tell us how heavy the bike is before and after you charge it? (kidding)
Lol
The thing that bothers me most about the "in-frame battery" E-bikes is: what do you do when the battery fails? E-bike batteries have a very short life.
The question is... UrbanGlide ULTRA or the Fission Hellbender?
Looking good but over half way through vid and no price,!
See ya
i just got a Ridstar Q20
What does it feel like riding bicycle that can go 35 mph
Like driving a car at 100
My sick sense of humor has you going down into the garage, slamming into the parked cars, and saying, “Guess the brakes don’t work all that well”.
4k? No way
I'd just buy a motorcycle for that price
4k🧐
I saw a comment that the bike is 4,000 dollars. Didn't even watch the video. Next
Mashallah ♥️♥️♥️
So what is your favorite long range ebike?
Great bike, too much money though.
❤❤VERY ❤VERY❤NICE, BUT ❤ VERY UNAFFORDABLE ❤... THAT EV IS FOR RICH PEOPLE. DUD TELL ME WHAT YOU DO WITH ALL THEM EV BIKE AFTER YOU REVIEW THEM DO YOU GIVE SOME AWAY CAUSE IM IN NEED OF ONE 😊😊😊
So nice seeing ppl comparing bikes to a SHITRON.
these motors eat chains, cassettes me and my freinds had lots of motor problems too
For 4k you can buy a full purpose built e mountain from many other companys with far better components like haibike with😮 & a better mid drive mounted motor for me this ebike has no buisness at being £4000 when it probably cost them about £1000 or less to make & build it is shockingly bad value for money at that price it should be half the retail price there asking in my opinion what a rip off at that price
FISSION NOT MAILED
Hard to take anyone serious when they can't manage to adjust their seat.
No experience here.
750w 48v
$4000 no thanks, nice bike but the wired freedom 40mph $2000
The Himiway COBRA Pro has nicer specs...
You could buy four decent ebikes for four grand .This thing overpriced by miles
No thanks, Aniioki all day 😊
Perfect bike to haul my mom on a wheelchair stroller trailer but bike too pricey.
Besides Bafang everything is cheap Chinese stuff, cheap parts. Where are the $ 5'000,-?
The motor is cheap China junk get a bosch
You are too tall for literally every bike you review. It is uncomfortable watching you compress your legs just to stroke the pedals.
That bike is garbage
