đđđđđ
Truth is, sadly: Humans ARE dangerous. And thus it is actually good for them to think so, because there is a LOT of sick people out there....
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
I'd like to think that wild animals don't need our protection but only our absence. Especially those poachers.
Having the photographers around would also keep some predators away, so it's like a semi symbiotic relationship: photographers get to study the meerkats, and the meerkats get some protection and height advantage.
That's an interesting thought: that by being there filming them in what's supposed to be a neutral way, they are becoming part of the meerkats' way of life. So it's not neutral anymore, and... Oh, what a headache, I'm gonna lie down.
@@miguelbranquinho7235If you consider humans are a natural product of the planet and part of nature, even though our presence might seem "artificial" - in the sense that we have have technology and an intellect that places us far outside the fight for survival like most wild animals - we're still very much a part of the natural world.
The same way a clam might synthesise minerals into pearls, humans have simply figured out how to synthesise natural materials into all manner of fantastic shapes and purposes, from early stone tools to modern fuels and electricity, complete with the technology that brings.
It's all still taking place within the framework of a natural world with natural minerals and processes, we've just harnessed them to an extreme degree.
The only way humans and our actions could be see as "unnatural" would be if our origins were interstellar and not native to planet Earth... right?

I used to watch Meerkat Manor on PBS in Ontario years ago. The dog I had back then, it was his favorite thing to watch on TV. I remember their rival gangs with a leader named Hannibal who had 1 eye . Flower was a leading matriarch of the little group of them featured. She was bitten in the head by a Cape cobra and had a terrible demise. Their lives were so happy and carefree until a predator was in the area. Very dear little creatures and so much fun to watch, except for things that predated upon them. I'm sure my old dog is cavorting around on the other side with his beloved TV characters.

Humans: The ultimate apex predator, conquerors of the world, annihilators of entire species as far back as 10,000 years
Meerkat: Gonna c l i m b
Even as powerful as humans are there not actually considered apex predators. Are strength is below average for our size as a mammal, we donât have sharp teeth, we canât run insanely fast, weâre an omnivore. We use tools and strategy in order to rule over the animal kingdom
@@bigfloppa5731 we can craft and use tools, that's why human *are* apex predators
ĆparrowYT actually our innate physical ability is much better than you think. For instance we have the highest running endurance of any other mammal. No seriously we can outrun horses, wolves, deer. Not run FASTER than them, but for longer. In fact in some less developed countries people still do this, they chase down an animal till the animal gets tired. Itâs just that humans overtime have gotten lazier and lazier due to technology, and we no longer naturally build muscle we now rely on weights and other âfasterâ methods. Not to mention all the genetically modified foods were forced to eat. Itâs really our own fault weâre no longer able to physically compete with animals.
CruiseCraft YT technology has barely been around and we havenât evolved to become slower or anything like that that just people being fat
ĆparrowYT well not necessarily just that. Our bodies have adapted to our newer and much more convenient life styles. We no longer have to all maintain farms and do a bunch of physical work. Even the way we build muscle has changed. Rather than naturally building muscle we force our bodies into it at the gym. So yeah all that accumulates over time and as our bodies adapt to those circumstances... yeah we do literally become slower.
Meerkats are priceless....

Filming us for hours and only stopping to eat or relieve themselves. Thank goodness all the humans don't do this, just a few odd ones on occasion. They do provide a few useful services to our meercat families. 1) reduction of predators who are reluctant to come near when humans are present 2) we can perch on their heads and see farther than on the hills f the landscape scouting for predators in the distance. 3) their buttocks makes excellent shade in hot weather.
