Update: Ordered 4 more cichlids from Snake River (total of 20). Those arrived healthy the following day. Also, ordered 10 clown loaches who came out of quarantine this week. All 30 fish are healthy and thriving. And yes I know I will need a tank upgrade in a few years. Can't wait!

I feed my guys Northfin Original. I tried the Veggie flavor and it didnt take even mixed in with garlic guard. I also do Xtreme Cichlid Formula which is probably my favorite because it absorbs the vitachem, seachem vitality, seachem garlic guard, and seachem zoo plankton really well. I also mix in Bug Bites, Xtreme Krill Flake Food, and Blood Worms. I know it's a lot but I got to spoil them. Most of the things I do comes from Kaveman Aquatics and Aquarium Co Op.
Great looking fish! Recommend using some active sponge filter media from Angels Plus next time. I cut up the sponge & threw it into one of the FX6s I’m running on my 125. Instant cycle! Added 20 male peacocks & haps from Imperial Tropicals a few days later. Definitely beats waiting over a month on a fishless cycle.
Lol you have the same exact set up as kaveman aquatics. Its nice tho and I just received my shipment last week snakeriver ciclids have wayy better fish than coastal ciclids and they have more of a variety smart buy I hope to see an update at 6months and then 1year wanna see the progression of your fish
Haha yeah I will definitely be doing that. All of my fish are really healthy too. I couldnt be happier with them. They've really colored up. I have completely changed the aquascape since then and am liking it so far.
SR is great, I got some of the same fish, zrock, lemon, OB grab bag and some others. They’re starting to color now, especially the zrock…you’re gonna love that guy Dig your scape btw
FYI- an easier way to cycle is to go to a trusted LFS and get cycle media, and get some bottled bacteria. I cycled my tank in 5 days that way. I stocked light at first, got two fish from Ron’s, then 10 from SR two weeks later and then 4 from Tampa bay a week after
If you are close to Kansas City I will give you mine. Still have 1 left. They were store bought. Since then I have switched to Cichlid Stones (Underwater Galleries) bought from Amazon and a hollow log from Universal Background.
You're lucky I received an order from them that was supposed to be overnight showed up two days later at the facility with a box of dead fish. Now of course they're trying to say it was my fault. Highly would not recommend these unprofessionals they got a bad reputation anyways I should have did some research on them

What kind of sand did you use for your substrate?
It is a petsmart white gravel. Really fine but heavy so I can deep clean and vac without sucking too much up.
