      Not only lyrics, the sound of his voice was what every rapper wished they had. It’s a deep, commanding tone that’s rich, smooth and and complex, with a touch of sweetness, like blackstrap molasses. When you hear someone with a voice like that, you take notice and listen to what they have to say.

      imo Follow The Leader and Lyrics of Fury were his very best and The Ledge 3rd.. Rakim was so ahead of his time and his bar onslaught still holds up because his skill is timeless, these current mc's should study this man and know he did all this in a very short time frame

    Eric B and Rakim were revolutionary in various ways. Rakim is credited with being on the forefront of modern rhyming for emcees. He was one of the first to completely break away from the “throw your hands in the air and wave ‘em like you just don’t care” type of rhyming.

    He was ahead of his time lyrical beast he was like 18-19 when this album came out in 86-87 ish do more of his stuff and some LL cool J. Rakim heavily influenced so many rappers including Nas they used to call nas the new Rakim when he came out in the early 90’s. Rakim has been quoted and sampled a lot he has a one kind of voice smooth and good tone and he NEVER curses hardly ever on all songs. Listen to more songs

    Now youre on to something. I still think Paid in Full is the greatest hip-hop album of all time. It was so groundbreaking and changed the course of rap music. If you want to be blown away do "Lyrics of Fury". BTW this is the club remix, not the album version.

      Definitely. This video is the club remix that Eric B does not condone. Please update this reaction to the og track on the album. Every reaction video of Paid In Full uses the club remix. I do enjoy this remix when it came out. But the og track was the anthem of the streets when it was out. Also, look up the Mob Depp version of it. Pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥

    Love it, but I remember when Eric B and Rakim was new. If you dig his styles, you might be a fan of Kool Moe Dee. I recommend "I Go To Work".
