Pennzoil Platinum is refined in Qatar and Motorcraft Synthetic is from Korea. The bottles with the offset spout often have a graphic on them, to pour them with spout at the top. It shouldn't pulsate like it does when held sideways or with the spout at the bottom. 5W20 synthetic oil is now turbocharger rated, but 0W20 oils are not turbocharger rated.
I've used both Amsoil and Pennzoil Platinum. Both very good oils but your price for the Pennzoil Platinum was very misleading. I buy it at Walmart for less then $7 a quart and I have a full oil and filter change at Pep Boys with the Pennzoil Platinum for around $60 ( which does include my Rewards discount). What you do show was how some dealership are masters at overcharging and taking advantage of people.

Thanks Josh yeah I just wanted to show different places on how they price the oils to me it's entertaining and I figure a lot of people would get a laugh out of it I think it's very comical. There's another video that's really funny It's the ATF fluid versus the Mopar I think the Mopar was like $47 a quart. As far as a list of oils the only ones that I know that are 100% synthetic that I've heard of is Enos in Japan and also I think there's one called motool but that's pretty much it there's not really anything else out there that I'm aware of. However I haven't traveled the world to discover every oil lol 😄

I think these are realistic temps during the winter in parts of places like Montana or Alaska. I'm in TN so I'll never have to worry about temps like this, but it's still fun. :))
Yeah basically showing what the oil looks like during extreme cold temperatures will give insights into the oil as it oxidizes it will get thick like this at a much warmer temperature For instance as oil gets older it will thicken 20 30% thicker and that's when it's even colder so this is what oil could look like at only negative 20° below zero Fahrenheit as it gets oxidized. It's really a big eye opener considering the circumstances and that about 80% of the wear on a motor is during the cold start.
Good info should I ever move to Antarctica. Here in northeast PA, 0 degree Fahrenheit is about the worst I'll need to worry about it so any synthetic oil will get the job done... And that's been the case for me over the past 50yrs. Pennzoil Ultra is $24 for 5 qt jug online at various retailers.

Of course and if you ever want to try amsoil you would be very impressed with the performance and smoothest of idle You would also notice a difference in fuel mileage. I always recommend the signature series motor oil and the PI performance improver gasoline additive and the upper cylinder lubricant. I would also do an engine flush which will clean out the carbon deposits on your motor and your motor will run a lot stronger. I only say this because I get really good results when I send mine out for analysis. Better than most do when looking at the data. I have two turbos tho, so I end up changing mine around 8000-9000 miles due to fuel getting into the oil at that point.

I live in Alabama, it never gets colder than 32 degrees Fahrenheit so i dont care about how it flows in the cold lol . I think using full synthetic motorcraft in my ford fusion 1.5 ecoboost should be good for my engine right???

So question, why flush a known amsoil using vehicle if amsoil is known and proven to have far more TBN and detergent than any other oil? I use signature series and engine stays cleaner than ever. No need for a flush right?
Great question Gregory yeah on a turbo diesel I would still do an engine flush every oil change just to make sure the oil screen is clean and you have less oil coating and everything will just last longer That's what I would do if I personally owned a turbo diesel. As far as a gas motor I would just do an engine flush on the very first oil change
@@Syntheticoilprotection i agree with you on diesels. I work for cummins and i see what low quality oil does to big rigs. The sooty sludge cancels out additives in oil no matter. Especially in todays EGR diesels forming more and more soot which is very abrasive.

Any big rig or small rig with cummins comes here as overflow. We do not have any amsoil unfortunately. We carry shell rotella as bulk. I work on cummins isx and paccar mx13. Of course Alex there's lots of additives you can add to oil that will give it more power and less friction however that will shorten the life of the lubricant and it can also deplete other additives like anti-sludge and anti-war additives. there are all different motor oils that are designed for different purposes For instance there's racing motor oil that is designed for a shorter drain interval but will make more power in the motor because there's anti-friction additives

That’s not getting the best, Pennzoil ultra platinum is the best. The plan platinum is not as good as the ultra platinum. I think the ultra platinum is worth the extra money. Just my opinion.

Pennzoil Platinum is refined in Qatar and Motorcraft Synthetic is from Korea. The bottles with the offset spout often have a graphic on them, to pour them with spout at the top. It shouldn't pulsate like it does when held sideways or with the spout at the bottom. 5W20 synthetic oil is now turbocharger rated, but 0W20 oils are not turbocharger rated.
I've used both Amsoil and Pennzoil Platinum. Both very good oils but your price for the Pennzoil Platinum was very misleading. I buy it at Walmart for less then $7 a quart and I have a full oil and filter change at Pep Boys with the Pennzoil Platinum for around $60 ( which does include my Rewards discount). What you do show was how some dealership are masters at overcharging and taking advantage of people.

Thanks for the video! I was planning to use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in my new Ford Escape, but it doesn't have the WSS-M2C962-A specification recommended by Ford. Right now, I am debating between Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 full synthetic that Pennzoil's technical team recommended for me to use and Motorcraft 0W-20 full synthetic that Ford recommends for me to use.

Why not freeze to more real world temperatures before pour to cold
I think these are realistic temps during the winter in parts of places like Montana or Alaska. I'm in TN so I'll never have to worry about temps like this, but it's still fun. :))
Yeah basically showing what the oil looks like during extreme cold temperatures will give insights into the oil as it oxidizes it will get thick like this at a much warmer temperature For instance as oil gets older it will thicken 20 30% thicker and that's when it's even colder so this is what oil could look like at only negative 20° below zero Fahrenheit as it gets oxidized.
It's really a big eye opener considering the circumstances and that about 80% of the wear on a motor is during the cold start.
@@tofupower64 Chicago is colder than them both. Lake Michigan can help to produce some of the coldest temps in the country.
Good info should I ever move to Antarctica. Here in northeast PA, 0 degree Fahrenheit is about the worst I'll need to worry about it so any synthetic oil will get the job done... And that's been the case for me over the past 50yrs. Pennzoil Ultra is $24 for 5 qt jug online at various retailers.

Great videos but just a little disingenuous, i love amsoil and use it in all 4 cars i have but you can pick up penzoil at basically any parts or grocery store for much cheaper than even OE let alone Signature Series.
When it comes to value the Amsoil is by far the best because you have the ability to go longer per oil change also you have the 100% synthetic film strength keeps the metal part separated less where less friction.
Over the course of the year themselves becomes less than free especially if you drive decent miles this will give you a good idea of how different it is than the other oils on the market.
Keep in mind the 100% synthetic film strength.

Awesome yeah the Pennzoil and is definitely an impressive product there are some different lubricants out there that are actually quite a bit better one of them is called Amsoil it's 100% synthetic a oil manufacturer can call a full synthetic full synthetic when it's only 25% synthetic basically like a watered down orange juice Amsoil is quite a bit different because of the film strength which keeps the metal part separated you'll see in this one test with the diesel oil how different it is compared to the others with the cylinder.

Of course and if you ever want to try amsoil you would be very impressed with the performance and smoothest of idle You would also notice a difference in fuel mileage.
I always recommend the signature series motor oil and the PI performance improver gasoline additive and the upper cylinder lubricant.

@@Syntheticoilprotection Why not find some Pennzoil Ultra Platinum for that test. Pennzoil makes a better oil than their "standard" Platinum. I only say this because I get really good results when I send mine out for analysis. Better than most do when looking at the data. I have two turbos tho, so I end up changing mine around 8000-9000 miles due to fuel getting into the oil at that point.
Of course we'll definitely be testing those in the future

Try adding some marvel mystery. Replace 1 quart of oil with 1 quart of marvel mystery. You may have some stuck piston rings

Nothing like a shill for a product (Amsoil) doing "testing" on competitive products and extolling the viewers on how they "fail" some sort of contrived cold test that's not indicative of how a product works. So question, why flush a known amsoil using vehicle if amsoil is known and proven to have far more TBN and detergent than any other oil? I use signature series and engine stays cleaner than ever. No need for a flush right?
Great question Gregory yeah on a turbo diesel I would still do an engine flush every oil change just to make sure the oil screen is clean and you have less oil coating and everything will just last longer That's what I would do if I personally owned a turbo diesel.
As far as a gas motor I would just do an engine flush on the very first oil change
@@Syntheticoilprotection i agree with you on diesels. I work for cummins and i see what low quality oil does to big rigs. The sooty sludge cancels out additives in oil no matter. Especially in todays EGR diesels forming more and more soot which is very abrasive.

Any big rig or small rig with cummins comes here as overflow. We do not have any amsoil unfortunately. We carry shell rotella as bulk. I work on cummins isx and paccar mx13. Ive seen a vid where you changed oil and fuel filter on a paccar. They are one very picky engine.

Hi everyone, i have been using Castrol Edge for my car and its doing pretty good as smooth and no oil consumption after thousand miles but next oil change i am considering switching to experience Pennzoil Ultra Platinum but hearing some comments that Pennzoil can cause sludge inside engine.
So can anyones help to reconfirm this stuff? Is pennzoil safe to use? Does Pennzoil burn oil much?

Of course Alex there's lots of additives you can add to oil that will give it more power and less friction however that will shorten the life of the lubricant and it can also deplete other additives like anti-sludge and anti-war additives.
there are all different motor oils that are designed for different purposes For instance there's racing motor oil that is designed for a shorter drain interval but will make more power in the motor because there's anti-friction additives

That's what I used to think.
A lot of those sales are all a gimmick with Amsoil there's no gimmicks It's you pay for what you get next next level protection.

That’s not getting the best, Pennzoil ultra platinum is the best. The plan platinum is not as good as the ultra platinum. I think the ultra platinum is worth the extra money. Just my opinion.

Yeah it's a totally different product it's a huge difference definitely not even comparable one is a synthetic blend the other one's 100% synthetic a oil manufacturer can call a full synthetic full synthetic when it's 25% synthetic or more.
