- Kobe and Gigi engraved on a Dollar Tree 8x10 Picture Frame Glass using The Ortur Laser Master 2 15w. The Glass was prepared with one coat of Rustoleum White Gloss Paint and covered by one coat of Rustoleum Gloss Black Paint. The image was resized in Gimp. The image was engraved and edited using lightburn Software. I used the negative feature in lightburn to engrave the image. My settings were 3000mm speed , 35 % Power , 254 DPI and 90 % scan angle using jarvis and passthru was not selected.
The burn took 2 1/2 Beautiful Hours.

@@zerica24 P.S.S. I told my daughter that you made your daughter a Naruto picture....now she wants one!! Ughhhh
@@viperone1000 lol it is a blessing that's all she wants lol only if you seen the amount of stuff I have made her lol Her room looks like my art gallery. She is my biggest fan that always wont something new . Her list is about a mile long but that is what keeps my creative ideas going . Wonder how long your daughter list will be 😁😂
Great video!! On my way to the Dollar Store, 😆 posted my second burn video today, gave you a shout out in the description. Thank you so much for your help as I learn!
Thanks for the shout out. I am here for any advice anytime you need it .
@@zerica24 the picture frame glass is an amazing idea!! I used watercolor paper for mine!!
I've got to try on glass to
I love it . The paint dries fast and it looks clean .
Sir, I want to thank you for showing me a method that gives awesome results for doing photographs on glass. This method is amazing! Question, can you use different colors in order to change the picture?
Im a huge fan!! Thanks for sharing all your work and settings.. bow im still new so its hard for me to tell... do you use air assist or naaa?
Thanks but no I dont use air assist
Ok great ro know
Dam that’s is awesome bro. I have to try that still trying to get this white tile Method down no luck all ready busted at least 20 + tiles
Thanks for the Support. You will get it bro I never really got the hang of it myself lol . The challenge of the Norton White tile is still haunting me I will have to jump back on tile til I master it . Lol
Lol I hear you man same here I’m going to keep trying till it get it down I did once and only once could recreate what I did. 🤷♂️ I could take a scraper to that one tile and image is on there no way you can get it off.
@@1nsanerazo255 Further than I got Soon as i wiped it of the image went with it lmao . I was going thru a faulty laser at the time also. I just never went back to tile but now I believe I can do it lol just have to build up the courage to do it . Keep it up bro your break thru is coming!
Thanks for this video. Did you do any post processing or sealing of this spray paint?
You can seal the Image after engraving it with epoxy or Clearcoat
I recently began following your videos and was experimenting with etching glass with the same laser engraver. However, I'm doing something wrong. It's not with the laser but with the paint. Even after 24hrs+ dry time I'm seeing cracks, especially on the second coat. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
Wait about 1hour then paint your second coat make sure your paint has been shaken up
Top videos fella, your work is amazing, I'm new to lasers, I've recently bought the Ortur laser pro, just wanted to know have you ever used Da Big Gimp plugin on mirrors for photographs
Yes I have and I hve glt some great results.
@@zerica24 thanks for the reply fella, i wont be rude and ask you for tips or settings, as i am a learner i think its best to hone my skills the old fashioned way, fail and repeat till its done, thank you for letting me know it can be done, your a true gent thank you
@@drut12000 shoot me a email for any advice
I have a two trees tts-55 40w laser. Should I decrease my power since your laser is a 15w?
Where did you get the Ortur Z Axis Adjuster from because I haven’t narrowed down it mentioned in any specific video except for this one briefly, but no mention or links to it. Thank you
I purchased mine at Slvrdesign3d.com. Thanks for your Support
What size laser do you have? Hardest part for as I get into this is the settings because all the lasers are different. Thanks!
So can you explain what the point of spray painting is for ? I've also seen people laser mirrors but I thought it wasn't possible to do reflective materials? I'm just starting off with my laser and would preciate the help
Dear friend, tell me what kind of program you are using for the laser?
If you're enjoy the content Leave me a comment, Like and Subscribe!
WOW that looks amazing. I have a question I just got my xtool d1 cutter can I use the same steps you used on my machine? I am new at this but I want to learn more after watching your video hopefully you can help me to learn with you videos. You are awesome. TIA
Yes you can might just need to adjust the settings
His method has worked great on my XTool D1 20 watt machine. I use 300 speed, 35% power, DPI at least 300 or better.
was that 300 mms or mmm?
I wish we still lived in down south then I could use my ortur it's too cold here in New Hampshire!
You haven't built a enclosure for your Ortur Yet .
@@zerica24 No not yet still have no room in the house for it. I see you have no air air assist and you seem to have no problems all other video's say you need that.
@@174859607 I have learned that it all depends on speed. If your cutting I think air assist would be helpful but if you have the correct settings air assist is not needed when engraving. I haven't built a enclosure either my laser is located on my lani. So no need to build one I try to keep it simple .
@@zerica24 Thank you so much my friend
ORTUR laser master 3 or Xtool? Witch you like better
Do you clean this after engraving?
Beautiful work, Where did you get your laser focus adjuster
I purchased mine at Slvrdesign3d.com
Awesome this is soo nice!!! may i ask how long was the burn time?
Took 2 1/2 Hours. Thanks for the Support
@@zerica24 You're the reason my fiance and i got our laser!!! keep up the awesome work!!!
Please advise me how the Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro laser could take a photo in black stone.
Customers want to take photos of monuments
Thank you
could I ask how long does it take to burn the 8X10 picture????? love it want to so for my kids.....
About 2 1/2 to 3 hours depending on speed and detail
I've watched many of your videos and you do amazing work! I do have one question though, is the painted side facing up or down? Thanks
Facing up I seal it with a Thin layer of epoxy or Clear coat
@@zerica24 HI, sir. This is awesome! I'm glad I came across you. Question? Do you put the clear coat on after or before?
@@ltconyers78 yes a few thin coats
@@zerica24 Is it necessary to put a coat on b4 you run it through the laser? I saw a person say their paint cracked a little.
@@ltconyers78 no just use gloss paint or seal with epoxy
By any chance did you get any spots scattered around the glass?
Did you go back and change the image mode to Jarvis? Looks like you selected Stucki.
Yes I changed it back
What do you use to clean the glass with after?
I use a foam brush to brush away paint ash.
I am not sure if this an idiotic question, but does this machine need a ventilated space? Thank you for your time im advance and I find your videos to be inspiring and insightful
Yes i engrave on my lani the more air the better
Great tutorial. Do you leave the minimum power at 0% Do you always run it at 0?
The lightburn version I am using dosen't allow you to adjust it so yes its at 0. Newer versions allow you to adjust. I like the older version
@@zerica24 Just got around to trying this, it turned out great!
@@jf6720 Happy to hear it
How many watts is the laser you used? Thanks ahead of time!
5.5 watts
After the burn do you do anything to the burn side of the glass? (such as clear coat, rinse it off etc?)
I clear coat it or I epoxy resin it
@@zerica24 really? Which finish is better or fool proof? Epoxy clear spray coat?
@@missicksjourney621 A few layers of clearcoat
How long do you let it dry between coats?
Depends on the environment. I live in Florida, so about 2 to 4 hours.
What doy you put on for a sealer?
Clearcoat or epoxy

Do you have an online store you sell these pieces on?
No I just enjoy engraving. I have thought about it
First I have to say that your work is fantastic. So here is my problem. I followed your direction (I believe so) yet I get out what I was expecting. A negative. What am I missing?

@@zerica24 can I ask what you set your gamma, contrast, and brightness to? I love that you put your settings in the description of your burns and have watched your tutorials as they are really helping me with my burns but my burns still come out dark...thanks for all that you do to help others in this!
@@joeanderson6797 I don't really mess with any of that . Try brightening up your picture before you engrave it . If it is still dark increase your power and it should make it lighter .
Can one use acrylic instead of glass?
Pretty sure it will work the same.
Thanks
Can this engrave on wallets?
Yes it can, the 15w model is the best price for performance, im getting mine soon, i've done quite a bit of research. It can engrave on almost anything from my understanding
no need to dry that much first coat?
Depends on your climate
