Anthony Green is literally my favorite musician/songwriter of all time, but you have to admit Cove fucking kills it here.
Literally tell everyone to come and listen to this version if they say Cove was bad...everybody shit on Cove but he was a fucking great vocalist with an amazing voice.

I can't stop replaying this. I usually don't get into acoustic versions of songs but the passion behind the lyrics and his voice dynamic with simple slow guitar is unbelievably moving. Oh and how hilarious is the little mess-up where he makes fun of himself. "STPL ...STUPLED" =p

Okay here's my opinion on both Cove and Anthony. They're both accomplished singers, each with their distinctive style of projecting their voice. Anthony has a raspy kind of voice, whereas Cove is smooth. Cove has hit an E5 before (in Voices), but Anthony has only displayed ranges up to D5 (in Seven Years and few other songs). Point is, Cove has a wide ranger compared to Anthony. Anthony shows more control and is more all-rounded compared to Cove, but Cove's control in the upper range surpasses Anthony (see how smooth Cove hit that C5 repeatedly in this vid). All in all, you can't compare the two. They're both great. Stop bashing on Cove, guy gave it his all in Saosin. He can never be Anthony, and vice versa.
Anthony has sung F5 notes in the harmony-vocals of Act Appalled. He also hits E5 notes every night on Get Out. I don't think they differ a lot when we're talking about range.

@@orchidmalevolence9726 I watched that video. The high note is the same as the high note in voices. Plus, at the end of the video some one says "between that and the other one... we'll just have to work with..." so that's not a live unedited performance.
Both singers are very talented. Anthony growls out an E5 and Cove sings it with less tightness in his throat. Whichever sound you prefer is fine. Anthony and Cove are friends, idk why people argue about who is better.

This is honestly my fav performance of 7 years. People disliked Cove bc he had the unfortunate task of taking over for AG. But honestly, with the vocal mess up and the range in general, this is the version of 7 years I keep coming back to.
I have never known what Saosin looked like until now.
And oh my god the singer is fucking mesmerizing when he sings.
You can just sense the annoyance the other two feel towards Cove when he messes up that line. Chris rolls his eyes. Cove tries to laugh it off and nudge Justin, but Justin barely smirks. Listen to the impatience in Chris' voice when he counts him in! They say they "let him go" 'cause of his depleting singing ability, but it seems he was voted off Survivor-style due to tensions within the band. Oh, well--and the world moves on.
I miss seeing them live so much. It hurts to know I will never see this again
Cove still kills it in this i think, everyone that bashes him needs to shut their mouths. i'd like to see you try to fill in anthony greens shoes, every comment i see on a saosin video is " ah man, i wish anthony green never left, cove sucks" go listen to circa survive then ! cove fit way better in saosin, and anthony green fits way better in circa survive, yeah hes no anthony green. but no one is anthony green. Hes cove reber, and he didnt try to be anthony green, so stop trying to discredit the man, he gave it his all, and hes an awesome guy, so stop talking shit about him. They kicked cove out, and completely disrespected him about it, bashing him in front of thousands of fans, and he responded back with humbleness and grace, and thanked saosin for giving him the oppurtunity.Hes an awesome guy, and everyone needs to stop bashing the fucking dude. And this is from one of the biggest anthony green fans in the world.

this is actually coves better performances, his voice is pretty on with this song cmpared to the last fm sessions. but what i think was the problem with cove was that he tried to sing way to much out of his vocal range. wasnt using his voice right, he has a good voice but he never used it right, and thats why he lost his voice live. Theres actually alot of performances live where anthony green wasnt all there, hes learned how to use his voice the right way and control his range

I know that people say that Cove is washed up and Saosin is done but this video really makes it hard to believe that he has a horrible voice. Cove just needs to clean up, stop smoking so much weed and get his vocals back on track. I truly believe that he has the talent

How is it his song? To be honest the fact that the song is by "Saosin" and not by "Anthony Green" is a bold fact that is clearly missed out. If you're senile on this situation they're friends and Anthony has said many times Seven Years is Saosin's song.
Long time Saosin fan and Seven Years is my favorite song, but I prefer Cove's voice.This was good with exception to the outro which he sung rather low. Cove did an amazing job on their self titled album/ep and did the band justice. There are so many emo Cove haters out there and it simply comes down to you can't make everyone happy, especially when the people your're trying to entertain are already emo, unhappy, and have already come to the conclusion they don't like you before you sing a word.
