I loved this game so much as kid. It was fun and got me moving, but I never really broke a sweat on the Wii Balance Board. Only in the jogging game haha. Ring Fit really feels like the successor to making you fit!

I never played Wii fit. Ironically enough, there was a Mario sports game where you could play four different sports. WITH NO MOTION CONTROLS, or at least very little motion controls. It's not very popular, but I loved it so much that I'd bounce of the walls and just get drenched in sweat. Ironic that you played a physically interactive game and never broke a sweat but a stationary Wii game was my exercise lol

To be fair, they DO look almost exactly the same. They just copy and pasted the same minigame but gave you a snowboard instead.

Wii Fit was definitely the reason my dad (who grew up as a small school equivalent of a jock) bought my family a Wii. Ever since, I've enjoyed video games as a pastime and the Wii has always remained my favourite console.
I could just imagine the developers going like, oh frick, we forgot the twinkling sound effects. We need some twinkle. 🤣

I'm having flashbacks to when Miyamoto told Retro Studios to give Samus a "bug's head" in Metroid Prime 1 and how everyone was completely bewildered as to what the fuck he meant by that until they realised he was talking about the visor mechanic. I want to know how many other Nintendo games were conceived because of bizarre and random ideas Miyamoto suggested. It's like working for The Riddler.

I'm glad they pulled that trampoline minigame idea back out while making the last installment of the series. Whoever suggested it and got turned down originally must've felt SO satisfied when it ended up making it in the game.
Quite a great story, and I'm really glad it payed off! Many came together, and so many more were impacted!

I have wii balance board, but only game i play on it is We Ski and Snowboard.
Its really good game, it uses nunchuck and WiiMote as skiing sticks and by titling the sticks you turn, or you can use the balance board
I've heard of that game once and it sounds cool. I've never actually played it tho.
