Thanks for watching! At our 2012 event, we were able to raise over $380,000 For The Kids, and with your support we hope to raise even more on January 26th, 2013!
Iowa State Dance Marathon benefits the kids and families at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital by raising funds and awareness for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Each January, we hold a 15-hour event at our Memorial Union where we celebrate the cause.
All credit for the music goes to Katy Perry and probably her label.

@DanceMarathonISU Amazing work everyone! If you ever do something like this again and can get your hands on a Steadycam... that coupled with that lighting and white balance you were talking about would make a great video even better! Props to all of you!

@zeppelindude93 thanks for your feedback! we don't have a ton of experience with video production, this was really the first time we've needed to think about all those camerawork issues.
if you'd like to be even more helpful, maybe you could join our student organization and provide us with your expertise!
@lisaorgler Thank you! We've got an AMAZING group of committee members, and they made it surprisingly painless. It did take a few hours to get a good take, but they were all very patient. (HUGE thanks to them! maybe I should add credits...)
@sdhoyer It's a camera thing. We're still in our same teal (ISUDM's signature color) shirts, but with all the yellow/brown in the rest of that scene, the camera adjusted the colors and it looks green =/
now we know, and next time we'll have better lighting and white balance!
@jknust51 we worked with the MU, they let us "close down" for filming at like 11pm on a wednesday

Build a steady cam and it will help a ton. Pretty cheap and you will see the difference right away.

Good Job! But next time you should get a few journalism students to help with the filming. ISUtv could really make it professional looking, and then you wouldn't have to worry about lighting or white balancing because we know how to do all that :)
