What breaks my heart, is knowing the bike theft epidemic at the moment, and seeing a post about a classic like this being stolen, then found burnt out. They are beautiful machines and I respect those who care for such old yet majestic things.
just a beautiful bike, the sound , the beautiful design, lovely sunny day too.
My dad and I completely restored a 1964 moped (Rabeneick Binetta) over the past few years and this summer was the first time we were finally able to ride it... Such an amazing feeling even if I'm not the biggest motorcycle guy!
I've only used for really short trips to next village so far and mostly in a bit of a rush, but next summer I'll get back on it and enjoy some 42km/h rides haha :)
I remember your first video about this bike. I thought it was extraordinary that the owner kept it for so long. I plan to do that with my current bike, mostly due to the fact that I'm not rolling in cash, but it's also a pride thing I suppose, but also my current bike is my dream bike so I wouldn't change it for the world.

Nothing like an old BMW, their performance is astonishing considering how long ago they were made. Hopefully in the future we will see Rj on an old Beamer of his own ;)

Ahh the clunk of a BMW gear change,nothing like it.
A known "feature" of bmws not sure bout the new ones but mine does clunk into 1st pretty loud 😂

Ambro recently i was ridiculous riding behind a Bmw 1200gs 2017 model, you bet that it clunks in first gear, it was a very loud one.
@@ripmax333 guess the new ones clunk aswell😅.my k1300r has a quickshifter and that boi really helps with those clunks.but 1st is always loud as fuck tho.let my dad take it for a spin once..he put it in 1st and was like.."holyy shittt did i fuck up the gearbox?!?!"🤣🤣

The R50/2 is my favorite. I’ve had the R60 and R69S and they just don’t compare in my opinion. Smooth and quiet. Old and slow just like me but who cares? Enjoy.

Q. Why doesn't this bike have any mirrors, wouldn't it need them to be road registered?
I don't know the law in the UK. In my country (SA) it is contradictory: To ride legal you must have two mirrors, but if it is old and did not assemble them from the factory, no. It is not allowed to add or modify anything to the original homologation ...
Mirrors are not required on such bikes.

It is. Before 1967 built doesnt need any side mirrors, before 1990 only needs the left one if i remember correctly.
