Well, my oldest pair is falling apart. Probably got wet too many times. And it's impossible to walk in the yard without getting them wet. It's either rain or heavy dew in the evening. It's just been a really wet summer this year. Time to order another pair.
I just got home from seeing my dad for father's day, and he was LITERALLY just showing of his Made in UK 991's 🤣🤣🤣 He's so proud of them, and after personally owning 1 pair my wife bought me last year, i can see why. Ironic or not, dropping this vid, on this day, hit the nail on the head for me 👌

I wear NB also because of their extra wide sizes. It sucks that I seen a pair of Puma's or casual/dressy type of shoes that look cool but they don't make them wide. My Flinstone feet have a particular need of apparel.

I read somewhere that the clomps are now available in wide width (they use a 2×6). And there is now a "sport" line that uses that little bungee cord that you always get in a multi pack, but never use. If you order one in the next 30 days, you get not one, but two 10 mm sockets.
19mm sockets and it's a deal. You can never find a 19mm socket when you need one.

I used to wear a pair of these for doing janitorial work and I gotta say... they stood up to waxing floors pretty well. Definitely have to get some USA made ones though. I dunno why but they import some but name them the same So make sure you're getting the right pair.

I am 60. I do wear the 624. It works, feels good, does not cost a lot, and at my age, my feet are shot. Arches are fallen 28 years in the Army wearing combat boots. I have a going out pair, a shop pair, and a going to the river to fish pair. When the kids get me a new pair, the river pair goes in the trash. Comfort trumps fashion at this point.

You know why I like these kinds of shoes, they do not have the mesh over the toes, which zero water repellent, one drop equals a wet foot.

One nice mention to USA built 990s i keep the laces tied but in " loose" fashion. I slip them on and off. I need to get a finger in there, at the heel..but the structure of the shoes heel area is stiff. They wont fold up. They keep their shape, my heel pops in, the material doesnt fold down like other shoes
990's are the flagship NB shoe since 1982..... quality!

Finally a brand I know about and see almost everywhere. I mean these are the most popular shoes around here at least. Well them and Sketchers.
When I was in boot camp at Parris Island (1993), we were issued New Balance sneakers, and we were all mortified having to wear them. Nowadays, they are my favorite sneaker ever.
I've been wearing these for the last 15 to 20 years. Last year I bought the white Sketchers Vigor 2.0 Serpentine and I can say I'll be wearing the Sketchers for the next 15 years. Looks are similar but the Sketchers are way more comfortable. I would like to see this guy do a comparison.
I tried Sketchers last year and I was surprised how comfortable they are. Very reasonable price.

I buy my 8 1\2 EEEE NB's in pairs and rotate them with my birkies (for the light days). I get 7 years out of them. A little dish soap and shoe white every 3 years keeps them kicking.

I started wearing New Balance in my 30s. I was a basketball ref and New Balance were my shoe of choice. Old guys like them because they are comfortable, at a certain age you stop worrying about looking cool.

Bought my first pair of New Balance 25 years ago when I became a dad. Haven't worn another brand sneaker since. Rockin the 990's these days. Probably another decade or so before I switch over to the 624's.

I've worn the current version of the 990s since 2001, 5 different pair so far. I think they have a hard plastic shank/truss in them.
The made in USA line is way different. It’s a carbon fiber shank in those.

I'm.. relatively young. But I've always has issues with my feet and only a particular type of NB shoe is comfortable... I have not worn other sneakers for the best part of a decade.

Listen, these shoes are legit super comfortable and I’ve owned multiple pairs in the standard white and navy even before I became a dad. Great value and atrociously out of style from the day they were released, they only thing better was my shift to crocs.
I remember a few years ago being at a kids event and realizing that all us dads had these same sneakers on!!! I threw them away and never bought white leather sneakers again!!!

Great video, I never owned a pair of these. But I do rock the Nike Monarch's. The other Dad shoes. I'm only 41 years old. But they are so comfy and I get hazed by everyone. My kids, friends and coworkers. I even made a custom pair of steel toed Monarch's
Holy Toledo, you are dressed like a dad i work with that wears monarchs and tucks in all his shirts. Concert tees, vintage doesn't matter it's tucked and those glasses are the cherry on the top.

I've had a pair of 622s for over 10 years, they don't get much use but every time I put these baby's on it's a slide into comfort
I am not a dad nor do I have any intention of becoming so (though, accidents do happen...). But seeing as I have three pairs of New Balance shoes, I feel that my dad game isn't all too bad. I have two pairs of 624s and one pair of 626s.
The reason I got mine is that I had some cheaper Skechers, but when I had walked a few kilometres (yes, kilometese, because Europe) in those not that bad boys, I felt a little sore in my shins (because fat). And that just won't do! So I tried 624s, and they were much better for my walking purposes. Mine are black though, and the 626s are grey.
I was so happy that Rose Anvil got around to cutting these in half. I was even more happy when I saw the style of this video, presentation-wise and else! Thank you!
