I am loving these Frostgrave videos. I'm not-so-secretly rooting for Owen though. His deadpan acceptance of all his terrible dice rolls deserves at least a nod of sympathy. Also, wrong video but BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD LADY!

The wizard statue keeps making me think of the Unseen University. If I had that piece of terrain and was playing this game, I would have to set it in the Discworld universe.

I was thinking a young Ridcully, doing his adventures before becoming Archchancellor. I enjoy his character, and unlike Rincewind, would be able to cast a bunch of spells. That or the Librarian (either pre or post orangutan). He seems interested in knowledge.
ostrowulf That would be funny if you had the Librarian as an orangutan, running around in your warband. Who would you hire from the various guilds in Ankh-Morpork? Which of the various heroes from the novels would you hire?
Well, everyone likes Cohen (and if they don't they are wrong), so he would make a good barbarian character. As you point out, the different guilds of Ankh Morpork give some nice flavor and easy options.
However, especially if I was using orangutan Librarian it may make more sense to go with the mission was sent out from Lord Vetinari, and have the night watch come along. Have Vimes as my merc leader, Nobbs as a thief character Carrot could be the barbarian or Templar in that case. Golem constructs, with Fred Colon as soldier and Angua as a knight. The obvious advantage of using the guilds is that there would not be issues when some one like Nobby Nobbs got killed (as will happen to the theif).
ostrowulf Micro Art Studios have some Discworld Miniatures. You could have the luggage as a medium construct. And Golems as large constructs.
I would think of the average Night Watch as more Men-At-Arms type characters. I think theres plenty of named characters, on the Ankh-Morpork City Watch wiki entry.
I can just imagine Twoflower wanting to visit Felstad. With a party of would be adventurers. And Vetinari sending the Watch after him to stop this looking at things nonsense.

Guerrilla Miniature Games It's an Osprey publication and a companion book Hero's, Villains and Fiends is great addition and really opens up lots more options, North Star miniatures carry all the rule books and miniature sets, although you can use anything Victorian/ VSF or early 20th century minis wise. I reckon you make models survive five games and then thy get a name. Otherwise they cam have a number or a syllable kind of like red sirts from star trek. After five games they move up to regular supporting cast members.
