Mordecai had great character development by getting over Margaret.
I think we all had that Margit pain in our life. I remember when I was a boy, how I struggled with the concept of love. It did help me recover somewhat when I was a boy because I could observe someone similar to me, giving me a chance to get a third person view.

Honestly, CJ was a way healthier relationship to Mordecai than Margaret ever was, Margaret always gave him mixed messages and whenever he'd get close to her again, she'd leave him, he'd try to get over her, he'd start to get better, and she'd come back just to mess him up again, CJ however was always there for him, and willing to make their relationship work, I hated how Mordecai screwed up what they had.

I still don't think CJ was the best for Mordecai. Better than Margaret, but Mordecai still didn't really feel like himself around her and wasn't confident. I think there was baggage he couldn't truly address with CJ, and it would require either a lot of development and emotional maturity he didn't quite have yet or breaking things off. I think the way he broke it off shows he wasn't emotionally mature enough for that kind of development, and even though we know very little about her I think Stef was a very good ending. The way Mordecai talks about her is really hopeful and genuinely happy, I think.
regular show will forever be my favorite show and childhood, its not just a goofy funny kids show, its a show about two dudes getting their life in check one day at a time and trying to just get throigh life, really wish we couldve seen mordecai and margaret go out at the end but it is what it is, hope we get an episode years in the future just to surprise us, thank you J. this was seriously one of the best shows ever, funny, likable characters, great character development, was crazy at times and had a good ending. they don't make good shows like this these days.
After watching 30 sec of this video I have to say the golden age of cartoons started in 2000 and ended after regular show and adventure time.
*90's had some greats too, rugrats was ahead of its time for 1991.*

There’s so much of this show that you left out and this overview only scratches the surface of regular show. One example of this is the battles between VHS and laserdisc which would make the ending make more since. Another example is all of the hallowed and Christmas specials, which don’t really add to the story, but they add to the show and the characters.

I despise Margaret for breaking-up with Mordecai in the first place. Her illogical “reasoning” was because “I’m going to college.” If she really loves and liked Mordecai to the point where she got jealous and lied about having a boyfriend when she came back, then she should have put it into the effort of trying a long-distance relationship with him. But, she didn’t. I don’t think she deserves any excuses because to me she was immature manipulating a man’s feelings, knowing full well he was doing his best to move-on.

JG is one of the best storytellers and animators that I am blessed to see, regular show was my #1 favorite show of all time and was there for every episode and I also cried a little at the end. The show was my comfort, along with old school adult swim, god I miss those days where everyone seemed to not hate eachother at every opportunity. We had it good, and I do not regret my childhood one bit, I love this show so much.
Saw it one summer during college and I don’t regret those weeks of nothing but regular show❤
