Conclusion: Play this game on PC
Played 1 year every week, any bug. I like the graphics. I don't care aboout them when i'm trying to overtake the first. Its really nice, i want a Project Cars 2 :P

Or they just didnt care enough about the port from pc to console. But to be fair a lot of games start off as consoles and are ported to pc and is horrible so now you know the feeling

***** Nothing is wrong with it - that's the point. 60 fps on console doesn't come easy - so they downgraded the textures. That said.. running 120 fps on AAA games set to high with the PC I built in 2012... I find compromising for 60 fps a bit of a joke

+Razor Smith Meh as far as the deals go, its cheaper on PC. Fiddle enough (and i mean a ton of work going in to it) and you can build a PC - gfx card capable of running most modern games on high/ultra (with stuff like AA dissabled though) for 150 to 200 US bucks. Add a good card and you are at 400 to 500 price range. Then you also get games cheaper with the added bonus of enduring shitty ports XD
But yea if you spend enough time and effort on it, you can actually build a pretty great gaming rig for cheaper than a console.

I'm glad you made a pros and cons video on Project Cars. I'm tired of everyone praising this game as if it was the greatest car game ever. There are some pretty bad bugs in the game. The only bugs I can pick from FH2 is audio lag and and traffic de-sync. Other than that, nothing. And even though the game was made for PC and transferred to console, these bugs should have been spotted and addressed before sold to the public.
Good points. The point about the oversteer can be handled by changing your steering sensitivity under the steering dead zone. It works, just play around with it until you get the setup that's perfect for your playstyle.

Do you own a PC? I own a console and a PC and an average pc runs games just as good as next gen consoles plus we have an even wider spectrum of games to play oh and no pay to play online bs.

maybe f1 cars are not made for public road :D so suspension might be too stiff and have too short travel, but i totally understand that hopping was quite weird

To fix most of the issues you have, get a G27 and a Gaming PC.
Consoles are just low end computers.

***** A Gaming PC can do everything and anything a console can, and better. It is just simple logic. A console is a bummed down OS and hardware components, while a PC is a full OS and higher end components.
Unless you like playing at lower frame rates and lower resolutions, PC will always be generally better.
Of course the range of the fps you are judging will make your point your or false. To an extent, fps will lead to better game play.
Please tell me what you feel could possibly be better on consoles compared to a decent PC.

lol, not everyone prefers first person view, to be sincere i don't but i can say it's the most realistic view a person can play with in racing games. As for me, i use all the views i simply switch views from third to first in order to experience a complete view of my racing environment, i love graphics and textures, also i like to see the car i am driving. :D it depends on you and what you like/prefer

I'm 31 and your right everyone can play how they want I just find it odd that people play in 3rd person when playing a driving / racing sim for me it kinda defeats the purpose of playing a sim that's all. :)

Complaining that you can't put ridiculous wings and paint the cars is like complaining that you've run out of dolls to play with. These are racing cars and hence they have a maximum spec that you have to adhere. You can tune every aspect of the performance and settings which is exactly what you do in real life.
It's simple, play Assetto Corsa, I do and it's in another league

You don't get as much shiny stuff like "super fun" career mod, but in AC driving is far better and with the DLC pack, you get lot of cars. Plus the career is even better by me,, it's just about driving and racing. In the second part of the career, there are races, which take about an hour to run. AC is more for players, who enjoy driving, while PrCa is more for people, who like need for speed, no offence, I like some NFS games very much.

doctorhelicopter Probably yes, but driving is better, believe me. As much as both developers of each game tried to make something like a simulation, those of AC did a better job by me, by miles. AC is unfinished in other sectors, but physics in PrCa is terrible and that's what counts most.
SRAMEK Agreed, AC kills Project cars in the physics and control department, Project Cars has the upper hand on graphics by miles in my opinion though.

Basically all of the issues he listed are fixed in AC, plus tons of mods, amazingly priced DLC, perfect physics, and fantastic controller support.

Even a completely blind person could see that there are flaws with this game. I agree with everything you said in the video and this game definitely needs some serious work. I also find it annoying that when I compare this game to Forza, people lose their shit. "It's a simulator not arcade." The game is out on consoles therefore it should be compared to other racing games. Racing with the controller is just not as satisfying as racing in Forza, and that, I think is the biggest downfall of this game. Not everyone has the money to buy a FF wheel just for this game. I think it should've stayed on the PC with other racing simulators, but money talks in this case.
And Project Cars 2 is also already in development... O boi

+Sai Namuduri Exactly, F1 cars are designed to run on perfectly smooth tracks. Project cars has some of the most realistic handling out there and is the most realistic on console. Sadly though, console players have GT and Forza and haven't got any other racing sim to compare just loads of arcade racers and 'kid-friendly' racers.

Have they sorted the tyre noise yet, last time I played it you could Hardly hear the tyre noise , which I found off putting as I like to hear when the tyres are at their limits of adhesion

The difference between using a wheel and controller is so huge it is not even worth playing without one, in my opinion.
I dunno if I fall into that category or not. I play PC with a mouse and if you get it set up right, it's fucking awesome. RS Escort around Nordschleife with a mouse gets drifty as hell and it's just fucking fun.
Porting games across other platforms should be given a LOT of time before being released to the other platform., just like the many delays GTA V had before it arrived on the PC. Result: it ran great.

If you cant handle wheelspin after exiting a curve you should srsly stay at casual games like Forza Horizon and not blaming a racing simulation. Just dont pull the trigger all the way down mate... Ofc it will throw you out of the track...
Your point about the "hopping bug" you showed in the video... Just take your RL car and drive about a street like that with about 100-120 mph/kmh (idk your system). The cars you showed btw got a very low weight value so its obvious that they will take off pretty fast.
And visual tuning in an simulation, not really needed.
This game is a simulation, recommended for guys who own a gaming wheel and stuff. You cant expect shit by using a gamepad. :D

If you want to push the mechanicals you can by changing the setup... dont expect to be able to change the parts of the car, you cant do it in the majority of the competitions in real life anyway. The majority if not all the bugs or graphics issues you mentioned do not happen in the PC version. About the bumps in some tracks, well, this is how it is, don't expect to be able to drive smoothly with an F1 car in some roads. In RL even at 80km/h you would have a real hard time as well since they were not made to absorb those bumps. On some of tracks even DTM, or smaller open wheels have problems so you can multiply that on a F1.
It is amazing when i see project cars on a console actually, it seems to be a completely different game. Graphics are much worse, I could swear that you also lose FPS although i heard that should be fixed on 60. But the more important thing is to drive it with a gamepad.... i am sorry to say but i just don't understand where is the fun to play a game like this without a wheel, and a decent one... :)

What version are you playing on? I think some of those issues were fixed in the latest 1.4 patch. Admittedly the Xbox version seems to have the most issues. Luckily I play on PC and most of the bugs you mentioned are non existent. Do you game on PC too? I'd highly recommend it!

Not liking the fact you can't customise your car?? this is a proper racing sim for proper racers, customising with silly paint jobs and blingy wheels is for kids. Play this with a wheel and its one of the most exciting and adrenaline fuelled experiences there is, forza doesn't even come close.

Jonatas Silva da Costa i completely agree with you about the sim thing, but i've also been very successful using my xone controller on pc. At least to the point where it is fun and I win a decent amount of races. It takes patience and not approaching the game as if you're playing an arcade or "simcade". Simple.
Still doesn't change the fact that the game looks like shit on consoles. :/

o0thx11380o i thought that said "other gamer opinions" and so thought it was funny but then saw it was just more generic pc v. console crap.
I personally think the steering is great.
I've only had that issue where the wheels lock up on rare occasions, and I can put it down to personal fault, as it most commonly occurs when you are turning a corner at a slow speed, and you suddenly slam on the gas and your car fucks up.
Other than that the game is perfect, but the point about the California Highway bumps I found hilarious. I LOVE THOSE BUMPS! Especially after exiting the tunnel near the beginning of the race, its so enjoyable to watch online players get washed away by the Physics whilst i'm there going at snail speed over the bumps.

Compares Project Cars to Forza *facepalm* videos creditablility out the window.
My main gripe with this game is that THERE IS NO POINT TO THE CAREER MODE other than to race for racing's sake, which in my books is not a valid reason to play. The developers chose not to go down the Forza and Gran Turismo route by giving players the freedom to start anywhere in the career ladder and move around at their own pace, adjusting difficulty and session length as they please, and not needing to earn credits to buy cars. Sounds good on paper and its fine outside of career mode; but since it does apply to career mode, where is the sense of accomplishment? You don't earn or win anything and you are not given extra rewards for completing longer sessions and higher difficulties.
And the progression from national series to regional/world series is not realistic. The national/regional and regional/world events are conveniently scheduled to not clash with each other so that you compete in both in the same season, which would not happen in real life. Once I move up to the major series, I shouldn't need to keep doing the smaller series in order to keep qualifying for it. For example, I qualify for the WEC by doing well enough in the EEC, so next season why do I have to qualify again for the WEC by competing in the EEC again?
And another thing is that THE WEATHER IS SCRIPTED. It's good that its dynamic, but the forecasts are always the same (e.g. the Formula A race at Zhuhai always starts in a thunderstorm); its as if the developers thought you'd only participate in a series once and wouldn't notice.
AND the AI is bullshit. It ignores blue and yellow flags, overtakes in the rolling formation, does not anticipate you late braking up the inside, does not receive penalties or gets disqualified or suffers mechanical failures, under blue flags it does not start overtaking you until its less than a car length away and cuts you off when completing the move (a real problem in multi-class races), it treats all cars like touring cars, they exit the pit lane altogether snaking around the track in practice and qualifying, etc....
Question: Qhen the car wants to go left or right with no reason, isn't it really the problem that Xbox One controllers have? that the sticks all of a sudden go up or left or right?

Nah, I think the cars handle quite well in forza and DC, i'm not one for games that require you to pay attention to additional matters such as tire temperature, fuel levels, etc. it just takes all the fun out of it. Simcades are where it's at.

So I was ripped off. There was no warning saying I needed a wheel on the cover. It won't be played again on my PS4 and the creators can go F&%k them selves. :(
Does anyone get the glitch when you will be driving, and like half way through a race it freezes and when it unfreezes your slammed into a wall and everyone has passed you? I play on console so idk if im the only one.
My suggestion for the next project cars game is that since it has similar vehicles and tracks to IMSA racing, it should have the Chevy, Dodge, Ford, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bmw, Porsche, Etc like the WearherTeck series and the Gt Le Mans series and would be a perfect fit
OFFTOPICK: I recently downloaded the free Pagani Edition on Steam. I dont own the full game. My only experience with racing sims was Shift Unleashed. I can barely handle those Paganis. Only Huayra is ok and iam playing with Stability and Traction Control Off, ABS On. Barely did 7:57 with it on Azure last night.
Are all the other cars in game so difficult to handle or Paganis are pretty unstable?

BlazertronGames these bugs are nothing compared to the gameplay issues on PS4 the bumps in the road will throw you off track literally throw you and you have to turn penalties off cause of the bullshit penalties you get such as oh you cut the track on the "outside" of the corner yes the OUTSIDE and you get heavily penalised for it it's a shocking game as far as car games go you have to turn the penalties off in order to play the damn thing I don't know about you but I like my racing to be realistic

The understeer is present on the wheel too. Even when I config it to 900 degree rotation, even in my logitech profiler (I use a G27). I also try to adjust the tire pressure a little bit, but nothing helps. I also slow down alot, and come in wide when I enter in corners, and go out fast. Nothing helps :C
Sometimes I had a bug when car completely instantly stops after a jump no matter what speed are you going. That happened on a California track, where after long straight you have a jump
im playing it on pc but that oversteering shit happens all the time i want an fix for this now
I just bought the complete edition and it seems way better than this 2015 video but I had to manually change my driving settings because the defaults can be so angering. And I hear it's realistic but then that it's also exaggerated that sometimes touching grass even going 30 locks you in that path of spins you out which I get why that'd happen but it happens so violently when the wheel isnt exactly digging into the dirt yet.

the understeer glitch IS because you use the control and there's a fix for that. You have to adjust the dead zone setting. I forgot what was the magic number but you can look that up.
that oversteer glitch happened to me too and I was using a wheel. even after all these delays and now all the patches this game still has some bugs disappointing but it's the only sim racer on ps4 so of course I'm gonna continue playing it I just hope they fix this game and drop alot more cars

i believe these issues arent happening to everyone, the only issue ive had is occasional frame spikes where after prolonged play the gsme will skip a frame, and that cali track, its a road course, the ground isnt going to be super smooth like that of purpose built tracks, i mean hell, you can clearly see the difference with circuit de la sathe, the back sections i.e straights and corners are part of actuall roads that people use everyday, and its bumpy compared to the front section. its a personal favorite which ive clocked at hundreds of hours on in pretty much every non dlc car in the game

I see what your problem is.. The thing is that "Forza Horizon 2" is more of an arcade type of game, where Project cars is a more of a real racer game.Project does need to work on their graphics but, they just constertrat on the Physics of the game for the hardcore drivers. Forza Horizon 2 is a game that you play for a fun arcade racing open world game, they don't constertrat on the physics of the game they constertrat on the graphics where Project cars constertrat on the physics of the gameFact: The game is made of real drivers in Australia.
Project Cars Problems:
1) Half your car skids off the track and your lap gets disqualified (in Time Trials)
2) current lap and next lap time dicounted! I can understand the current lap but the entire next lap as well!!?
3) When selecting a track to race on, it does not show you the outline of the track. just the name of the track. once you select it and it starts to load up THEN it shows you the track outline.
4) no upgrades available to cars. building your garage is not as easy to understand as it should be.
5) car will periodically completely spin out for no reason.
If this game is called Project Cars, then why aren't there more CARS????
DLC? You can pick up the whole DLC lineup for like 20 bucks on Steam right now, winter sale ftw. shits like 50-75% off for this game, i grabbed it all. but the DLC is very reasonably priced even if it wasn't on sale. i just wish there were more American cars. I can only do so much with a vette. and... the ford hatchback bullshit junk. LOL. dont those belong on a rally track?

the one thing that I hate is that every time I try to race, it is always making me race at night and I can barely even see the track and I ajust the settings where I can race during the day but keeps on making me race at night and I HATE it
thanks for speaking out. i have to agree iv got pcars on both pc and ps4 and the graphics is so much better on pc.
i also have to agree on the mad steering, i find it does it on both pc and ps4 and with a joy pad and wheel but it is easier to catch with a wheel on the pc version
Pc looks so much better, you can see it was designed for it. One thing about what you said was the bumps. Have you ever driven a car with quite stiff springs and dampers over a bumpy road? I can tell you that happens the car gets upset, sometimes bottoms out and with stiff spring rates and fast rebounds it can send the car into a spin or hop about and then spin. I will say it's a little over exaggerated in PC but it's still quite realistic, I've never seen a car on forza or gt become unsettled by bumps before.

I would take 60 fps over "more shiney" any day of the week. Especially in a racing game.

The problem is that they can't sell you a $300 console that can compete with a $500-800 PC, not for very long anyway.

for instance the old gt40, depending on the track you could edit gear ratios, downforce, tire pressures, which would solve some of your problems
I don't know the update policy on consoles, tbh. But they definately are working on many issues on PC. Just recently they released the 4.0 patch with massive bug fixes, for instance pit stop bugs and the extremly race devestating tyre pressure bug.
Those bugs you described there on the console, I never experienced them on PC. Maybe some issues due to transition?
But still: As an example for the car physics issues: There was an event in Zolder on the Mclaren F1, which they tempered with the style of driving for the car. That made it pretty much impossible to drive for a few weeks. But still. They worked on it and now the F1, although still hard to drive, makes it a bit more believable and you can predict way better, what the car is gonna do.
I just really hope for all the console players for pCARS out there, that they're updating and working on the game just as hard as they do on the PC version. (And yes, I do realise this video is allready a few months old. ;) )

It really needs a wheel to modulate the throttle.
When the turbo is about to kick in you need to slightly back off the throttle, and then feed it back in smoothly.

The oversteer problem i solved it when you steer hold the brake button and then when you going slow and dont hold the drive button because you wil accelerate to hard in the turn and you wil spin out just take it slowly stay in the groove
I have the Games with Gold version and I've never got any bugs except for California Highway on a vindaloop of loading
The over steering bug always happens to me , now my cousins doesn't want to race with me because he keep thinking I'm crashing on purpose
I have Thrustmaster TX with TH8A shifter and T3PA pedals.. the handling is fine on there, the only thing that I have the same issue with is the loading times are RIDICULOUS.. Also I have an issue at the moment where I have 0 bar tyre pressure after coming out of pits :/
