Honestly a TV series on a streaming service would maybe do more justice to MGS as a franchise than a movie limited to a few hours.

Certainly hopeful the director and main actor are rooting for the green light. Animated video game movies are getting better so that might steer towards an animated MGS.
David Hayter needs at-least a cameo or minor character regardless. Oscar Issac can pull off Snake with careful attention to matching Hayter's Snake accent, rasp it up!
I truly hope they can make a Metal Gear movie work. I'm glad the writers strike is over hopefully they'll keep up the pace. I've been feeling great about videogame adaptations as of late... Fallout from Amazon was phenomenal and I enjoyed most of the Super Mario Movie.
You would think that by now there would be at least a series of animes that knowing Kojima would tie into the games narrative and was critical to understand the overall “plot” with quotations bigger than any metal gear

A live action Metal Gear movie is a natural move seeing as how every game has liberally “borrowed” from more movies, tv shows, comic books, and other mediums that Quintin Tarantino would consider it obsessive
Hollywood at its creative peak would struggle with making a coherent and satisfying MGS movie. Current Hollywood will butcher it beyond recognition.

I don’t believe bale really plays metal gear solid, but he is a much better choice for snake than Oscar Isaac, snake is white after all. But not just that, bale is better suited for the role physically and look wise, him of Hugh Jackman.

Seems like it's never getting made. Personally, I don't care though. MGS is cinematic enough as it is and I can't really see any actor fitting entirely into the roles. Not even Hayter and the others. While they did voice act for the characters, their appearances are not based on 'em.

Always thought Bradley Cooper looked more like snake. Don’t matter though, Oscar Isaac is too old now as is Bradley. They hang about far too much, then a decade passes.
Bradley is too much of a pretty boy to play snake. Oscar has stand off-ish edge that fits Snake better
