- We bought our first tiny house for our vacant/raw land airbnb business in the smokey mountains in western North Carolina. We purchased our dome from @trudomes the best dome manufacturer in the UK their quality was unmatched. We flew to Colorado to attend the Tiny home show and was so impressed with the @trudomes team that we purchased on the at the show and thanks to @TractorsandCream for the inspiration. Their were so many tiny home options to choose from but we were sure we wanted a skoolie (school bus conversion) and a dome on the mountain top so this was a easy decision. Although we had to miss our flights and journey for 22 hours in a van across America it was well worth it, we made it back safe to our camper with no damages to the dome. Watch until the end to see how our temporary #vanlife worked out, we had to freshen up at the rest stop and sleep in the van. What a fun adventure I would do it all over again with my love Eric and the @trudomes team who were so patient and involved in the sale. So we have a 7m geodesic dome with a bathroom equipped with a shower, toilet and vanity and enough space to build our kitchen and living areas. I'm curious as to why you decided to buy a dome instead of a tiny house? I'm saving up and thinking about buying a tiny house from Incredible Tiny Homes.
We are actually putting two rentals on this property one at the top with mountain views and one at the bottom creek side. The creek side rental will be a traditional tiny home which we will build ourselves. However to get our business up and running quickly we decided to start with a dome for a few reasons better budget to start, easier to get permitting, we can put it up quickly once we build our deck and also we need income to start rolling in like yesterday. I wonder if that bubble tent protects against the cold if it snows
It really does get warmer than expected it's an insulated dome a bit more sturdy and 4 seasons than a bubble tent which has no steel frame or insulation. It also has a wood-burning stove and tends to be hot on the inside so we're more concerned about keeping it cool in the summers 😊 we're also installing a mini split to help with heating and cooling. At the moment these are primarily being used in cold climate areas because they get steamy in areas like Florida Airbnb now has a dome tab you can see many for rent in the mountains ⛰️ region 😀 hope this helps. What?! This is not secure or bear proof! I would not stay in this! 😮
It's no worse than camping in your own store bought tent that sits on the ground and zips up except for its wind rated and housed in an aluminum structure so much more secure than a traditional tent ⛺ its ok to not be outdoorsy but we LOVE it here 🤷♀️ and if you know a thing or two about bears not much is bear proof not even your homes. Ask Goldie Locks lol 😆 😂 😅 🤣
