Creeping doom (the spider swarm summon spell, level 8) is very effective on this boss. Even though they don't do a lot of damage, they never miss, and they act as a nice meat shield, since there's 4 of them. Other than that, just have everyone spam all of their summon spells/items and stay behind the fodder. The other items that makes this fight MUCH easier is the Clemency of Shadows ring. It's a crusade relic item that makes it so that whenever an ally dies, a giant spider is summoned in their spot. THIS WORKS ON SUMMONS! which means that as your summons get cut down, they get replaced as fast as they are dying.

Not sure if you know this, but Sosiel Touch of Glory buffs Charisma directly - not a skill check, it buffs the charisma attribute. Gives you half his class buff to your charisma for about an hour or so. It's so overpowered it's crazy. Useful for any charisma-based character.

Hmmmm I thought it only worked for one roll? I'll check it again the next time I play thank you!

@@SlanderedGaming works as long as you don't have a Charisma skill check. On sorcerers and Oracles and Paladins you should be able to have it last for a while. On Bards, it can be iffy with their abilities. Though, in my opinion, It makes Sosiel irreplaceable as a buffer.

I never fought this guy legit, I just cheese it with mark of justice and spider swarm every time. I feel like if you want to use dispel magic , you can turn off turn base, summon an army of skeletons before the fight, it takes some time for him to chew all your skeletons and your dragon can auto dispel on the back line, when he has nothing left you then use mark of justice and auto attack should be pretty fast

Nice MoJ & Spider Swarm is a good combo. Unfortunately Aivu doesn't have access to dispel at this point in the game.

I have yet to find the Playfull darkness at all, I thought it was in a part of our camp once we start the Midnight Isles chapter but I can't find it. I have at least 7 playthroughs and have never seen him. Mainly as Angel and Trickster, is that why?

In the Midnight Fane you face a third boss to collect the last key before facing Darrazand. There's a statue behind that boss. While facing the statue turn left and continue up the path. You will encounter a tough fight with lethal traps on the floor. Beyond this is a portal that brings you to an unexplored part of the Midnight Fane. There is only one path with I think two fights. At the end of the path you face Playful Darkness. I am not certain if he is still there when you return to the Fane in Act 5. All Mythic Paths can confront this boss.

@@SlanderedGaming lol Well fuck me running, all this damn time. People always show the fight but not how they got there. I didn't even catch it on people's playthrough either. Thanks

Wouldnt true sight counter the concealment? - for a normal playthrough. Many of your melees could get through concealment that way. You could also use heal on the playful darkness - it is positive energy so it burns it.
For the cheese sauce version you can use creeping doom with mark of justice - if you want it feel helpless for a change of pace.

Fairy Fire is a good counter in this situation as well

True Sight negates illusion based concealment not all forms of it. Pretty sure I activated it for this fight so I don't think it cuts through Playful Darkness' form of concealment. Fairie Fire would've been a good option I completely forgot to use it.

This boss is ridiculous and Im an angle oracle. Had to use my party as meat shields as I bolt of justiced it to death, after it tore through a bunch of summons.

Ultimate boss killing class of the game is the kineticist class. I played a kinect knight and and completely wiped the floor with this guy. Kinetist class has an ability that whenever you penetrate an opponents SR it starts to strip off buffs. KK is hands down best tank in the game. On higher levels the game almost gets boring because the class can completely wipe out most enemies fast. Kineticist class is probly only class that can solo on unfair.

    • @SlanderedGaming
      @SlanderedGaming  Před 2 lety +1

Oh wow it can automatically strip buffs? That sounds fantastic.

@@SlanderedGaming it's not a passive ability you have to activate it. One thing about the kineticist that can turn people away is the fact that the class is insanely complicated and is very easy to screw up. But yeah one of the infusions you get to will allow you to strip buffs. And if you focus on melee at level 18 or so my KK was able to attack 4 or 5 times and deal like 30-125 damage per attack and targets touch AC not base. Frankly it's the most insane class if you build your character right you can literally be a decent healer, skill monkey, tank, blaster, and controller at once.

@@jeremiahholley2873 Fascinating. People keep mentioning Kineticist to me. I might need to play around with that for my Aeon run.

As an Azata, I would suggest swarming him with summons. Playful Darkness is insane, but he has trouble munching through more than one target at a time.. and you can spawn Trees if you get them as allies. Failing that, any kind of spawn can do, undead can be most useful because of number. It honestly becomes a matter of killing him before he goes through enough stuff.
I remember spitting healing spells on him since I was NEVER able to put a single attack on him anyway.
