During my HS days in the 80's, it's common that any student will bring with them acoustic guitars at school and we jam during vacant hours singing folk songs and other songs suitable for guitars. Popular were Beatles, eagles, father and son, bread, lobo, cascades, England Dan & John Ford Coley, America, Simon & Garfunkel, APO, a local band, etc, etc.. that's our pastime. 🇵🇭🥰👍

REO Brothers-such an elite talent!!! If I’m not mistaken, they were the first Filipino musicians to perform in the Cavern Club of Liverpool. Please check out their other covers, mostly 50’s to 70’s music. Simon & Garfunkel’s Sound of Silence and Mrs. Robinson are some of my favorite covers.
REO Brothers is the legit Beatles of the Philippines lots of foreigner, bands, and musicians amazed when reo brothers played their intruments and flawlessly perform

The more you watch the REO Brothers you'll be convinced that they're the greatest tribute/cover band that has ever existed. Their musicianship and harmonies are great and each can sing the lead, not only they can play almost anything but also capture the vibe and spirit of the song they cover live which is astounding.

Guys, glad you finally lend them an ear, think i recomend them to you, their latest uploaad was SULTAN OF SWINGS by Mark Knofler or Dire Strait it showcases their versatility as musicians and an amazing cover band if you compare their version from KNOFLER original and their home studio with minimal instruments and whatever!? Gosh! they are good, really good!!......
THE PHILIPPINES is all about that ERA. Even the millineals can't escape it. There's just too many places too many people who plays or even sings those songs, even on Radio Stations ESPECIALLY on a Sunday! We are trapped!

They were having series of concerts in the UK several years ago including Liverpool , Beatles home base In Cavern Club.

OMG you found them! 👌They're one of my favorite cover bands to date. They cover songs of 60's 70's and 80's bands and really puts you in a nice, nostalgic mood.

With the REO Bros there's plenty to feast your ears/eyes on and react to. They are class! Their father can also sing and we know each other because one of his son attended preschool under me.Their father also worked in the city govt of Tacloban.They really can sing.It makes us(filipinos)proud of them.

I recommend their cover of "eye in the sky" by alan parsons project. The instrumentals and the vocals, are grEat. Although both their covers of bee gees and beatles were all great. They are siblings a victim of super typhoon yolanda in leyte. They came to manila and slowly formed the band RIO brothers

If social media was develop during 80's and 90's you can see a lot of trio and groups band that sings a lot of latin music and folk song but now a days I don't see it anymore it faded as yrs gone by. But REO gave another level of oldies.

The Reo Brothers is a Filipino rock band composed of four brothers. The band performs renditions of music from the 1950s to the 1970s, that of The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Dave Clark Five, Bee Gees, Gary Lewis & the Playboys, The Lettermen, America, The Ventures, VST & Co., and other prominent bands of the era. The band grew in popularity after they performed at the ABS-CBN Christmas Special 2013 in the Araneta Coliseum. The Reo Brothers band received the only standing ovation that night.
International success:
The band performed at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York for the Pinoy Relief Benefit Concert on March 11, 2014, with other performers, such as Jennifer Hudson, Pentatonix, Plain White T's, A Great Big World, Jessica Sanchez, apl.de.ap, DJ Poet Name Life, and Charice.
After their performance in New York, the band performed for a benefit concert called Here Comes the Sun in Southern California, presented by the Rotary Club of Historic Filipinotown in Glendale.
On June 14, 2014, the band performed at the Sun Pearl Arakawa, Tokyo, Japan called Damo Nga Salamat ("Thank You Very Much"), a thanksgiving concert presented by The Philippine Assistance Group. The event featured the Reo Brothers with guests Charito, FilCom Chorale, and Sayaka Akimoto.
In August 2014, they became the first Filipino musicians to perform at the historic Cavern Club in Liverpool, England, the birthplace of The Beatles.[5] The brothers were doing a 3-day tour of the United Kingdom: on August 1 at the Cavern Club, on August 2 at the Bournbrook and Selly Oak Social Club in Birmingham, and on August 3 at the Northumberland Theatre in London.
Almost three months later, the band was back in the United Kingdom for their second tour. They performed at the Cavern Club on October 31 and November 2 at Ten Foundation in Belfast, Northern Ireland, at Benwell & Springback Club in Newcastle upon Tyne on November 7, and at The Dome in London on November 9, 2014.
A lot of bass guitarist who are reacting to ralph, the bassist, are really amazed.. Cause he sings in tune while doing his bass and he also do some background voice to his brothers and they say it is really hard cause the rythmic pattern of a bass player is really different in the regular melody.. Wow they're young fellas who have old souls. Definitely this brings me nostalgia especially when I drive in a endless highway where on both sides are empty and far away with towering pine trees or redwoods. This area is sparsely populated or no inhabitants at all..it's just wild and free with lots of deer, buffaloes, etc. Are u with me driving in a countryside of northern California? Dang..you can think of anything when you listen to this kind of song..it's like I'm passing by in a small town with crops in the valley.

If you live long enough in the Philippines you'll notice that old songs are well-loved. New trendy pop songs may come and go. But old songs, they came and they stayed and yes until now.
