In this video we roast Ancient Aliens for saying that the Yellow Emperor was an alien. In my opinion although there is some record of him being in "the heavens", in my understanding the myth is more like that of the greek gods, or Norse gods who could travel back and forth between heaven and earth.

Im pleasantly surprised that you used an FFVIII clip instead of going the lazy obvious route of putting in a pokemon reference.
I learned about Huang Di from the video game Age of Mythology - but they caused a controversy because they mixed up the story of Yu Huang (the Jade Emperor) with him; and the protesters claimed that the Yellow Emperor's in-game image was based on an anti-Chinese caricature. I am a 華人 born in another country so I learned about Chinese mythology only last 2016.

Honestly, I would so watch a movie or TV show about the Yellow Emperor bouncing across the cosmos slaying demons and riding that dragon or something. To use an academic term, that would be “cool as hell”.
Then, I would recommend you the fictional story 封神演義 or Investiture of the Gods. The events in this fictional story is kinda of the Star Wars episode 4-6 if the Yellow Emperor stroyline was the Star Wars prequel.

@@zhonghuaxiansheng Then you will like 封神演義. Although i must put the disclaimer that I have yet to see a TV/cartoon/Movie version that I think is able to display how epic the written version is. Most are either too PG or uses too cheesy CGI.

That is what Chinese scholars also believe so. Starting from the Song dynasty, there has been a growing skepticism by scholars towards the overtly supernatural and illogical elements of Chinese ancient history.
The scholars believe the original historical text contain accurate descriptions but their meanings have been inflated and distorted as China went from tribes to kingdom to empire. The distortion and inflation in China is significantly more than in the west because of how continuous the Chinese civilization was. Because words and phrases used 2000 years ago are still being used today, it is very difficult to track and identify the evolution of their meaning.
However today archeology is fixing this by producing hard evidences for scholars as reference to the original context of the Chinese language and terms.
Since he's described as being ancient when he arrived and he outlived many during his rule it certainly seems to demonstrate him as being Shem Son of Noah
No, the records of the Great Archbishop say that he was just a tribal leader of the Han people. He invaded northern China, fought the indigenous people, defeated them, and made them migrate to southern China.

Thank you, that was interesting. By the way, I did watch that episode about the Aliens. We probably would never know for sure, but he must have been given knowledge from somewhere, some other civilization whether on Earth or outside Earth, the heavenly realms.

As a side note, there is some theory in Chinese academia that since no Chinese characters matching the Yellow Emperor are found on ancient Oracle bone script, he was a figure created for political consolidation in later times.

The only thing I knew is the common written Chinese was by him.
To stress his importance, Chinese people often call themselves 炎黄子孙, "descendants of Yan and Huang".
Modern scientists say he was an alien maybe he was from another place. They use the term alien. People think someone similar to Ben 10 or something like that. But term alien means someone from another planet. Our planet is not the only planet in the universe

lol at aliens. but sometimes the descendants would glorify ancestors to the point of exaggeration even though as a historical figure is very real. before confucianism kicked in, introduced many societal problems in modern days, ancestral practices have been the main practice.

Since Daoism is credited to 4th and 5th century BCE we have missed something completely here. What I'm getting at is the rich history of 2000 years before BCE, the Yellow Emp. was accredited to being around 2500 or so BCE. Worship of Shang Di and every characteristic associated with Shang Di fits that of El, God of Jacob, Abraham and Issac. Sacrifice of the lamb, the flood etc, its all there in record before the Bible. I'm big on not confusing the characteristics of God with any other god, but everything fits the bill here. Including the vision around the time of Jesus being crucified, a vision by a Chinese Emp. In this vision he said, someone was killed to cover our sins, we no longer need to sacrifice. Research it..
We see the disciples ask to go to Asia, and they are told that time isn't yet. Is it possible this civilization was covered by their faith already? It wasn't their time yet, let this sink in. Now they have communism and killing Christians, this is the time.
