There are just too many misconceptions even amongs learned people about multilineage people like the ikwerres , or itsekiris and why thy don't see themselves as part of their more larger relatives , Igbos and Yorubas respectively for the two groups. A multilineage group is more like a company founded by say a Yoruba and a tivi man as against just a Yoruba or just a tiv. Who then owns the structure built by the two from two different groups. That's the question that forms the basis of all these hassles about multilineage groups . They are joint ancestral establishments so that you cant credit the itsekiri ethnicity to Yorubas alone, no the other iduoid groups are sort or shareholders in the makeup. Ikwerre is multilineage and the dialect is actually a lingo/lingua franca consisting of words that are not only found in igbo but also in the dialects of the other lineages that formed the nation. Ukwuani is another example. In the ukwuani dialect you find word found in igbo but then you come accross a lot of words found in the Benin dialect.
