    Hello, like everyone else a sincere thank you for sharing. It opens up a wonderful world of creativity for me. I have a question: what quantities should I take into account, the one in the description of the video or the one shown in the 1:23 video, because they're different. I wish you a wonderful, enriching and creative year.

    Hi
    Thank you very much for the tutorial.
    Can i use plaster of paris for making the clay ?

    • @Melitaart
      @Melitaart  Před rokem

      Hi, no, you can't use plaster of paris because it'll start to harden and it will ruin the clay. You can try gym chalk, it looks pretty similar to the chalk I'm using...

    How do you get your clay to dry with such a smooth finish? Mine always has a slightly bumpy look. I use DAS

    • @Melitaart
      @Melitaart  Před rokem +7

      Hi, well whenever I add a layer of clay I always try my best to spread it as evenly as possible using very little water, once I'm satisfied with wherever I was working on, I finish the smoothing with a soft brush soaked in water. Before I sand something I always smooth the surface with a damp fabric. Thank soOo much for commenting. Blessings

    Your clay is great! Is chalk in powder the same as school chalk for kids?

    • @Melitaart
      @Melitaart  Před 9 měsíci +2

      It's not precisely the same because kids' chalk contains some additives, but it'll work. Gym chalk it's more alike.

    Could you tell me why you use oil is it air dray clay that doesn't need oil just water

    • @Melitaart
      @Melitaart  Před rokem +8

      Since the clay contains glue in a pretty high proportion when you work with it applying water the glue reactivates and things get really sticky, so oil helps to prevent all that stickiness...

    I have put varnish on top of the acrylic, when the varnish is dry, I can peel it off using my fingernails. Can you give me some tips so that the varnish doesn't peel?

    • @Melitaart
      @Melitaart  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yeah I get what you're saying it has happened to me as well, it's mainly due to the varnish you're using it's probably soluble with water those types of varnish usually peel of. I recommend you to switch to a spray coating. 💚

    • @Melitaart
      @Melitaart  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I use Rust oleum spray coatings, mate (chalky finish) or shiny depending on your project.

      É giz em pó e é utilizado para dar maior versatilidade às pinturas. Na América Latina é fácil encontrar em lojas de ferragens, peça como giz em pó para adicionar em tintas.

      Oi, moça. Tenho quase certeza que ela está se referindo ao que chamamos de cal. Se for comprar, procura o cal de pintura, porque tem um cal que é um suplemento para a terra. Se não for isso, então é gesso. Porque algumas tintas têm gesso na receita. Mas eu tenho quase certeza que ela se referia ao cal.
