Happy July 4th. You are blessed to have so many hummingbirds. I have only three hummers and five fountains and five six feeders. Lots of goldfinches, chickadees, blue birds, Carolina wrens, towhees, titmouse etc, but the hummingbirds aren't interested in bathing. This week I even set up a mister and ran it for several hours to see if they would fly through it, but they didn't. I figure it's very different in the Southeast than in California. You are up on top of a hill too, and my yard is surrounded by tall oaks, crepe myrtles and maples. I do think one of my three females is a baby born this year, so that is success!
I love your firecracker plant, and I am trying to grow it this year, but parts of it are turning black and it barely has had any blooms. I am trying to figure out how much water the plant needs. Yours is really beautiful with large flowers. My salvias are my best hummingbird flowers. God bless you and your husband.

I’m in Corona and all the birds are gone I have the two Oriole’s and maybe 3 hummingbirds .
I had lots of birds all year round but the last 2 weeks they all left.
I am guessing they left due to knowing that the heat is coming. I believe they’ll come back as our weather starts to cool.
