Driving Long Beach Island - LBI - North End

Come along for a virtual (almost) summer drive onto and along Long Beach Island, NJ's north end. In this point of view (POV) driving tour we'll start by traveling over the Manahawkin Bay on the Rt. 72 causeway and onto LBI at the town of Ship Bottom. We turn left onto Long Beach Boulevard, driving it all the way to the north end of the island viewing shops, beautiful homes and sunny beach town scenery while listening to the natural ambient sounds of birds, seagulls, and beach grasses waving in the wind, and enjoying the deep blue and turquoise skies of the island.
While traveling north on LBI we’ll pass through the beach towns of Ship Bottom, Surf City, North Beach, Harvey Cedars, Loveladies and Barnegat Light. Just some of the sights we’ll see include long time island favorites like Ron Jon’s, ScoJo’s, Surf City 5&10, LBI Fishing Club, White’s Market, Mustache Bill’s Diner, Andy's, Viking Village and the Barnegat Light lighthouse or 'Old Barney'. (Old Barney at the time of filming was surrounded by scaffolding for a 7 month, $1.3 million restoration.)

OMG thank you! I really love seeing this tour. I lived in Barnegat Light for a few years, two blocks from the lighthouse. I worked full time on the island. Some of the best years of my life! I love picking out all the spots and landmarks! Such fun. 😘

27:40 - From here on, I've never driven this area.
Anyway, my Mom spent her childhood summers on the island (40s and 50s) in Beach Haven. So she always likes for us to go to the island once in a while, and she always enjoys seeing the lighthouse. I see it was under renovation when you were there.

Great memories seeing the shack as a kid. Use to like when my dad took me to fantasy island at night and people would be coming and going from the tides. Always said when I get older I want to go. 😂
