    Works great if you pay attention to instructions. czcams.com/users/postUgkxviiltW7NlHbp_VL_bLbIkbLAvILVhnia For those that complain about "mushy" or "wet" rice I suspect they are using the included cup to measure rice (which is really only 3/4 cup) and then putting in water using a separate measuring cup that is a full cup. This results in too much water and you will get mushy or wet rice and think it is not done. Just use the included cup for both rice and water, or your own measuring cup for rice and water according to your package directions. It will come out fine. I've used mine for years for brown and white rice. If your machine is bubbling white froth out of the steam vent then it means you should have rinsed your brand of rice first to remove some of the starch. Sheesh. Makes me wonder how people can cook well enough to feed themselves.

  • @kivishnadewibalachandran3723

    Hello! I tried with basmati rice. Soaked as advice. Followed all your steps. But I got confused at the final part. After the first whistle, I did turn the stove to the most smallest flame. But within five minutes. I heard the second whistle. I didn’t know what to do. I pull off the whistle and let it slow cook like you said for total 10 mins without the whistle head. But at the end my briyani was overcooked. But the taste was really good and very flavourful . May I know how do I adjust my cooking time for the briyani? Please advice ❤

    • @kivishnadewibalachandran3723
      @kivishnadewibalachandran3723 Před rokem +1

      I am using Prestige Nakshatra Svachh 3L cooker😊 earlier I followed how you did. Two cups rice to three cups water. Now when I checked the manual book it says two cups basmati rice with two cups water. Maybe if I do that adjustment. I can do it better. Do let me know your opinion too on how I can improvise the texture.

    • @spiceindiaonlinerecipes
      @spiceindiaonlinerecipes  Před rokem

      Hello🙏thanks for giving it a try. Coming to the question, normally the first whistle will happen within the first 5 minutes. The second whistle shouldn't happen, as the pressure needs to be built. In your case, not sure how that happened on a low flame setting. Anyways, if that happens, just turn off the flame right away. Do not remove the weight or open. Let the pressure settle naturally and then open the lid. The rice should be cooked to the right texture. Hope this helps!

      @@kivishnadewibalachandran3723 mine is prestige too but the above is cooked in a 5 L cooker and there is more room. For 3l max should be 1 and cups of raw rice, adding more will press the rice to the bottom and it will turn out mushy. Guess that's what happened.

      Soy chunks don't release water like chicken, hence the water measure has to be adjusted accordingly. Every rice brand absorbs water differently, soaking time, water measure and also flame size everything matters. One whistle and slow cooking for 10 min is what I follow and the rice never burns or stick to the bottom.
