  • Rishi Sunak asked brewery workers in Wales whether they were "looking forward to the football" this summer, despite the country not qualifying for the Euro 2024 tournament.
    He made the comment on while on the first full day of the campaign trail on Thursday.

    How is this a gaffe? He's asking a pub that will showing the games if their looking forward to the summer football tournament ie trade they can get in. They'll be interested in the big teams and watching England get dumped out as well. Absolutely bizarre to call it a "gaffe" ffs.

      @@chilldude30 he's asking a brewery if they are looking forward to the football because of punters,, my dad works for Domino's pizza and they're busy regardless of who's playing at a world cup or euros. It's a business with no ties to anyone and Rishi is a businessman ffs. They don't think in tribal terms anyway.

      Strange how India plays Cricket but not Football. That's probably because it was all the posh Public school colonial administrators who ran India and brought their sports like tennis, badminton and cricket with them.
      Indians also surprisingly play quite a bit of Polo. I wonder in croquet is also something the British introduced to India.
