I’ve seen several reports that the Sierra Card was created by a detective (or retired detective) and sent in anonymously until he admitted it years later. I read a deal about Donna Lass’s death and do not believe her killer had any relation to the Zodiac. The fact that the killer sent Donna’s sister a card years later seems to point to him knowing her. It just wasn’t the Zodiac’s MO. The Zodiac rabbit hole seems to create a number of suspicious individuals who could have been the killer. It’s almost as if the suspects are carved into the Zodiac, as opposed to legitimate evidence pointing to someone who is likely responsible. Circumstantial evidence is very easy to tie to innocent people. I applaud your video and investigation. Short of some actual DNA or indisputable proof, we won’t know who the Zodiac really was.

Thanks Forrest, I never heard of this suspect. Without the invention of the automobile modern serial killers would have never been able to murder so many victims. You certainly put a great deal of research & work into this Zodiac series.
Odd comment. Jack the Ripper had five known victims, same as Zodiac. That was long before automobiles.
@@thefonzkiss In our time killers like the Green River Killer, Ted Bundy etc. have cars, trucks, vans which make it much easier for them to abduct and get rid of bodies. The kill toll of people like Bundy & the Green River killer was possible because they could move about quickly and easily. You completely missed the point of my comment.

Sometimes there seems to be an ingrained reluctance by police to take action on evidence that they haven't discovered themselves.
These Zodiac videos have been great. I've rewatched the first video describing the murders in depth multiple times, and i just watched the second about the letters earlier today, and now I'm onto part three. The second video about the letters was absolutely shocking and very entertaining and very well narrated. You have a good voice for these types of videos. I wasn't born until the early 2000s, so all of these murders happened decades and decades before I was even thought of. And it is absolutely insane and unbelievable that Zodiac to this day has still never been caught. He was the only serial killer I could think of that sent letters to the police to taunt them and brag about the murders that didn't end up getting caught for it. Another thing about that last video is that it was my first time hearing so many more details about this killer. Like I never knew he even killed more than five people, I thought he only killed 4 or so. And of when he picked up the pregnant lady and drove her around for two hours before she jumped out. It's just so crazy when people become dead set on killing people. It's like people like Zodiac or all of these school shooters these days just hate life and they want others to suffer like they do.
I just found your channel today, watched all three parts, extremely well done. I did not plan on watching all three, in fact I probably shouldn’t have, but it’s a testament to how well done this was.

I find it interesting that the two letters switched in the writing sample are the 2nd and 4th letters (24). Perhaps "d b" is date born or has some other significance. The oddly shaped s is also the 19th letter in the alphabet. So could be 1924 or just a total coincidence.

Mr. Haggerty- you do great videos, but this series takes the cake. i am surprised Netflix hasn't contacted you to produce your own series. I have one question- since you stated that he lived with his mother, did Hines ever questioned his mother at any time or was she already deceased?
I didn’t find any information that said Hines questioned his mother so he probably did not.

Terrible suspect, got caught several times for petty theft yet apparently somehow became a mastermind serial killer after suffering a brain injury Also had a strong New York accent, which Hartnell never described.
He obviously has intelligence or he could never be in real estate. Many psychopaths are savants, morons in one area and highly accomplished in another

They just recently confirmed in December 2023 that Donna Lass' remains (skull) was found in 1986. It was down the interstate and not near anything to do with the postcard.

The problem we all have is being faced with so many 'probable' suspects. We view this video and say Kane was undoubtedly Zodiac!
Then we will no doubt watch your presentations on Allen, Gary Poste, Gaikowski, Marshall, Bujok et al and hear ourselves saying, 'no doubt about it' to each of the proffered suspects. The only consolation I personally get is believing that our culprit lies within this small group. He's in there somewhere; but which one?

On Sunday Oct 30 1966 ,there was a big sports car race at Riverside raceway.The L.A. Times grand prix This race would bring 80,000 to the area on that day .Lots of possible victims .
Very interesting and it all ads up, he seems like a very smart guy who knew what he was doing, but it's also asif he wanted to get caught, i guess he just likes the attention or play some kind of fictional character he made up, just like the killer of John Lennon, but it's a totally different case ofcourse. But even though there is so much evidence and leads he never got caught, maybe just bad police work although it was very urgent and serious. But great video man i see you've put a lot of work in finding the places and actually visiting them.

ANOTHE GREAT VIDEO!!!.........Kane's handwriting looks nothing like authenticated Zodiac IMO. He is a very interesting suspect but if his fingerprints were checked against the prints on the Stine cab with no match then he cannot be the Zodiac. I would also need to see that Kane had knowledge of cryptography and electronics to believe he had the skill sets the Zodiac had.
The Sketch looks a great deal like James L Swanson to me
It does, but Swanson was born in 1959. He would have been 9, 10, 11 and 12 years old during the murders.

It’s almost impossible to refute with all the evidence against cane. Three different eyewitnesses, three different photos mixed in with others, they all pick the same guy and it’s not like they weren’t sure. They were sure sure. That alone makes him a prime suspect.

You make a compelling case against Lawrence Kane as the Zodiac killer. However, it should be noted that Mike Mageau, survivor of the Blue Rock Springs murder of Darlene Ferrin picked Aurthur Leigh Allen out of a photo lineup. I’ve always felt the abduction and murder of Donna Lass was someone who worked in the casino and not the Zodiac. The Zodiac was not known to abduct his victims. He was however prone to take credit for crimes he didn’t commit. And he took credit for Donna Lass. When her skull was finally identified it wasn’t where everyone thought it was based on the postcard sent by Zodiac. I do think Kane most likely killed Donna Lass. I never knew about the Las Vegas murder which strongly suggests Lawrence Kane as well. As for Kane being Zodiac? It’s possible.
My next video will cover Arthur Leigh Allen. However, it is taking me longer because I’m dealing with my daughter’s wedding coming up on June 22.:))))

It’s interesting to note that Nancy Slover, the 911 dispatcher who took the call from the Zodiac, said the caller was slow and deliberate while speaking and most sounded like Richard Gaikowski. Yet Brian Hartnell said the Zodiac had a slight stutter or stammer. Consistent with a possible a head injury.
Years ago I recall hearing of Harvey Hines and his Lawrence Kane theory as the Zodiac. As I recall, he spend most of his time insisting on putting Kane’s name into one of the many cyphers. If you work hard enough you can make a cypher say whatever you want. Supposedly the partial DNA profile they obtained in 2000 that cleared Arthur Leigh Allen also cleared the other Zodiac suspects as well. Lawrence Kane would have been on that list. Now they say the DNA profile was taken from the front of the stamp and not behind it. If that’s the case then the sample could have been contaminated. They were going to resubmit a DNA sample for testing but that was almost two years ago. And still nothing…

It seems that Mr. Hines was headed in the right direction. but lazy cops and District Attorneys do not want to pursue such a complex case especially when most of it is based on circumstantial evidence.
