New York City has an amazing history. Imagine the presidents, celebrities, people that came to America to start a new life walked the same streets y’all did. There is a major issue with buildings being empty in NYC! So many companies left during Covid and then they realized how much they saved by not spending money on rent!
It’s definitely the same here in San Francisco. We actually atm have talk about turning them into residential
Let’s clarify this. Some employees now work remote. The companies didn’t pack up and leave NYC. This is occurring all over the US. Cheaper and companies are finding that folks can be just as efficient or more efficient at home. Wouldn’t want to be selling corporate real estate now. Although some folks say it will come back but not to pre Covid levels.
@@Hubbs04 Stats prove almost everything you said to be untrue! Most companies including Disney are making employees come back because it is more productive to work in team environments! Also if you look at the maps of where people are leaving and where people are going ! Florida and Texas leading way of increased pop while NY and Cali are decreasing! People are runnning away from NY the more money you have the higher % your leaving the state as well! Meaning less tax money being brought in !

You are correct Kyle. All buildings aren't being used. That's the pro lem. The street you are talking about is iconic. Grand central station and the Chrysler building in the background. 42nd and Vanderbilt Avenue is a really iconic nyc neighborhood.
You should go into the NYC library if you ever go back. The inside is absolutely beautiful.

Best bagels in NYC are Tompkins Square Bagels in the East Village, Bagels on the Square in the West Village (tons of cream cheese flavor options), or Kossar's Bagels on the Lower East Side. None of those skimp on the cream cheese!

The ice skating rink is Bryant Park. When we were there in November they have tons of small stores for the holiday season - it was neat! There is also a bar/restaurant there also!

I agree cream to bagel ratio is important. Etssa bagel is considered one of the best. You did well...follow a line usually will mean really good or really inexpensive.
Downtown on 23 st was the flatiron building where they came up with the phrase 23 skidoo....if you are interested as to why...let me know.

I have trouble sleeping when away from home too. I add melatonin to my first aid/medicine bag just in case I need it. It comes in handy for when I need that good sleep the night before travel day.

Kyle! The Ice skating rink you saw was bryant park! Anyone can skate there :) During the holidays they also have a holiday market. As a local (kinda, i work in NYC and commute from NJ), it is so funny to me seeing visitors explore the city. You guys need to come back and have a local show you around!!!
Another great Vlog as for the hotel bed thing yeah it’s weird like even within the same chain I can sleep fine in one hotel and then go to another that’s brand new never been slept in and be like nope this isn’t good
