In this ADVANCED PIANO TUTORIAL you can learn HOW TO PLAY Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen on piano! :)
đFun fact:
This arrangement consists of 2347 notes.
đLyrics:
Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing "Hallelujah"
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Baby I have been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
There was a time you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you?
And remember when I moved in you
The holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light in every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at somebody who outdrew you
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Highest velocity: *36 notes/second* .
Take that Chopin - Fantaisie Impromptu( *21 notes/second* )!
I thought nothing would be harder Than Fantaisie Impromptu, but I was wrong...
Do you only play the piano or do you play other instruments too.
@@maximrock8265 The velocity is deceptive, the 36 Notes/second were one of the easiest parts of this piece (playing a chord repeatedly), Fantaisie Impromptu is still way harder.
This velocity 36 n/s is very hard
@@DrakenMusic I watched both pieces once again and understood that. Thanks man)
Youâre making me want to start playing piano again
man you are so right
Hes making me want to watch Shrek
Well you are a sandwich but it would still be nice to see you play...piano *giggles*
Right!?!?
That last part looks so fun to play
So do it!
This song was actually so beautiful that Iâm 99.99% sure that I cried
MattTheMan109 so u donât know if u cried
off not?đđđ
So did you cry or not?
Well what about 0.01%
And every person and you are beautiful too
I was about to cry also and now Iâm crying because you cried
No black keys were harmed in the making of this video
Sincerely,
C major
Yeah theres literally only one chord in this entire song thats not in C major, i think its an E somthing but dont quote me on that. I dont read chords i just make my fingers hit the keys that correspond to the little black dots on the paper đ
Only except G#
Subhash Yadav for goodness sake accidentals!
Or a-minor
Emily Gooden E7 has a G# in it
It actually took me a year to learn to play this song with the extra keys like you. I played it at a talent show and got 1st place.( some people thought it was fake but it wasnt)
Well done!
memes Morales wow you learned this I wish I was that talented
@@froggy_vods5994 it was really hard, there was times when i stayed up till 3am learning this one song
@@nathanielcooper4288 thank you, it was hard but i got through
memes Morales thatâs amazingggg iâm starting to learn how to play the piano, and when i heard this song on the piano with the extra keys and everything, i wanted to play it even tho idk how and ik that it will take a longggg time
I have always loved this song, but I have never heard it as just an instrumental before. If anything, it's even more beautiful and powerful, and this is a wonderful performance.
listen to lindsey stirling's violin version. it's beautiful as well
I've heard it on a violin, which is honestly even more beautiful. As much as I love piano, the violin can so perfectly capture the mood of the song and draw out notes in a way the piano can't.
so your leaving some doubt?
@@rachelleredd8803 ok? say that to a violin player not a piano player D**k
i wanna try it i just dont have the patience.... or a piano
I like how its green like shrek
(why are there still people saying i like how its green like shrek)

Please it has been 2 fucking years
I like how its green like shrek

How I like its green shrek is like

This is perhaps the most moving piano piece I've ever heard. I'm sitting here tearing up at work. Absolute masterpiece!!

There's always the one douchebag that wastes his/her time commenting the lyrics like we don't already fucking know them
@@douglewis5701 How does that make them a douchebag?? I think most people would find it helpful is anything

but now you never show it to me do ya
I remember when I moved in you

and every breath we drew was Hallelujah
Plus Leonard Cohen has a bunch more that I don't remember. But typically when the song is sung/played it has five verses. The one I included being the fourth.
@@emmareinisch5976 every one who's ever listened to the song plenty of times ones the fucking lyrics by heart. So back to my comment. There's always the one douchebag that wastes his/her time commenting the lyrics like we don't fucking know them already

So much heart and soul right here.
The fourth, the fifth, (Plays fourth and fifth chords) the minor fall (plays minor chords representing the fall) and the major lift (plays major chords representing the major lift).
Well, he _told you_ that, "It goes like this..."
36 notes a second 4:28
With repeated chords, yeah. The sweeping part before with 17 n/s was actually way more impressive.
When I heard this version, my mind screamed, "HALLELUJAH!!"
Coming back to this....... Wow.... Had to let it sit for a couple of days.
This is the best rendition of the song I ever heard.
Without words, the pain, the loss, the struggle of hope, the cressendo, everything.
Wow. Blessings on your and your house for this bro. Blessings
Stunning. Thankyou.... this made me feel like Leonard's spirit is free. May his music forever surround us!
Kyle Landry's version! Love it!
Yes, it's the best!
@@TomsMucenieks Do you not think you should put a credit to him on-screen or in the title? Having just your name on the screen while he has a small mention in the second-to-last line of your description seems a bit off (especially because the title of this video just refers to it as a cover of the song).
what he means is that IS Landry version....
@@calebfarmer331 Why? It's common sense to look in the description to see where they attribute credit. Why should they cater to stupidity? They are the one doing this cover of someone else's arrangement of a song.
@Kevin Zhang do you realize Tom made the same video a long time ago with Kyle Landry in the title and gonna few views so this time you didnât put Kyle Landry in the title and 1 mil views
The BEST version I have ever heard of this song. I've played piano in church and could only dream of performing something this powerful and beautiful! God has given you an enormous talent and you have given me goose bump's!!!
You have the best arrangements of these songs that Iâve heard so far. Really gifted. Thanks for sharing.
I have no words to describe this beautiful piece its a masterpiece
I so wish you had more on your spotify, iâd create a whole playlist with just your piano covers and fall asleep to them every single night. Theyâre so beautiful I canât even explain it
The most beautiful piano rendition I've ever heard. Bravo!!
Tom Mucenieks: "How much pedal should I use"
Also Tom Mucenieks: "yes"
I feel like amongst all these praising comments, I'm the only one who thought it just sounded like noise.
Iâm not too happy about this arrangement either. Way too much pedal, which lessens the dynamic between soft/powerful. It shouldâve been way softer for the first half of the piece in order to really show the contrast when you get closer to the crescendo.
I love the pedal, I think I overuse it when I play đ
If I had an acoustic piano, I would put a brick on the pedal, sustain is life.
As beautiful of a piece of music as ever has been written. And beautifully played, too. Thank you Toms.
I've loved this song immensely since I was a child. This perfectly captured the energy I've always felt listening to this, thank you. Leonard would be proud. Z''L
can we just take a moment and realise how beautiful that was
I'm speechless...this was so heartwarming and it touched my heart.
Damn... No words for how shook I am... Great job dude
So beautiful! đ I've already watched this about 50 times!
Please donât ever take this off of youtube ! I will forever have this on my playlist đ so in love and hope to learn it soon đ
If I'm gonna lose it while listening to a piece, it's almost always the power in the artist's voice that causes me to do so, not the piece itself. Brava, my hat - and my tears - off to you. I'm not sure I ever want to hear a vocal of this song again.
This song played over the radio as my family took our dog to the vet to be put down. I love how beautiful it sounds when played on the piano this way. I cried for the next hour after watching this, and then was inspired to learn this piece. Thank you so much for this! đ đ âșïž
I've listened to this umpteenth times and I still get chills at the end EVERY. SINGE. TIME!
OH MY GOD I've wanted to hear this played on piano for so long
Ive listened to this song on repeat for the last week. I absalutly love this song because of the amazing harmoney, and great job on expressing the harmoney. I have a hard time doing that with my songs. Ive played piano for 9 years. I really want to play this song so bad, thankyo for making it i guess
Such music makes you really discover the beauty of life.
This is beyond beautiful, man. How can this be even possible? I can't stress enough how wonderful is that. Applause!
I can always get stuck in a binge watch of the beauty that is this channel.
Holy crap! Actual shivers down my spine. Especially towards the end, wow! đđ
Thank you for the divine musical perfomance based on the possible highest velocity at the moment - 36 notes/second!
Hallelujah, this is amazing ! đ

Holy mother of finger keyboard genius đâ€
My first dog died the day the first Shrek came out (I was 11) My grandparents took us (me and my siblings) to see it to get our minds off of everything and it was my first time hearing this song, and I associate it with her, so it's always been a very emotional song for me and this version of it is absolutely breathtaking. If I weren't at work right now, I would be bawling like a baby. Thank you, and know that you are 1 of 4 videos on my Favorites playlist

L'manburg National Anthem--Wilbur Soot
[Verse 1]
I heard there was a special place,
Where men could go and emancipate,
The brutality
And the tyranny
Of their rulers.
Well, this place is real
You neednât fret
With Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo, and Eret
It's a very big and not blown up Lâmanburg
[Chorus]
My LâManburg
My LâManburg
My LâManburg
My LâManburg
[Verse 2]
Our faith was strong
Within these walls.
A sanctuary
That would never fall.
The beauty
Of the landscape
Overthrew ya.
Well, he built his throne
And betrayed our land,
But we still stand strong
And we hold our hands.
And from up here,
I can see my L'manburg
[Chorus]
My Lâmanburg
My Lâmanburg
My Lâmanburg
My Lâmanburg
[Verse 3]
For freedom and for liberty,
Our nation sought to build on these,
A victory for all under democracy,
Well the darkness came and then it went,
We built a home and watched it end,
And from the rubble
Emerged my great
[Chorus]
LâManburg
My Lâmanburg
My Lâmanburg
My Lâmanburg
My Lâmanburg
[Verse 4]
With hands, bloodied
And knees, feeble.
Our people rose like
The Grand Eagle,
Our empty fields and canals âround
LâMantree.
With sweat and tears we armed our ranks,
We laid foundations in our land,
And all lips from here up to forever
[Final Chorus]
We sing LâManburg
We sing LâManburg
We sing LâManburg
We sing LâManburg
Noice
o7
This is absolutely amazing! I love it!
Thanks for making me actually tear up. Great piece.
I would die to have them skills
That moment when the music ends and you instinctively start clapping you hands only to realize it's not a concert and you are at work in front of your laptop and people look at you funny, and good luck explaining that.
This is some good shit.
Soo amazing!! I looove the sound of that piano!
The best version ive seen. No one has come close to this version online.
When my grand daughter hears this song she always says, "oooh sad shrek" cause of the scene in the movie. She is only 2. Beautiful version of this, best ever.
You should mention Kyle !
Capitaine Doigt he should
You touched my soul
This is an amazing performance. I love it.
