- Harvesting vegetables from your balcony garden, for the first time, is the most exciting part of the process for many gardeners. In this video, I will show you my first balcony garden harvest and everything I have grown from seed to fruit. This is my own garden that I have done by myself on my London Balcony! This year I have had the opportunity to have to learn a lot when it comes to gardening. I was finally able to pick some veggies from the garden and let me tell you, they taste so good!! Nothing beats fresh produce that you grow yourself in your own self-sustainable garden. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the gardening season brings!!

How many kilos of tomatoes do you think I will grow this year?
Haha good guess
Not horribly off but yeah I got way more than just 1 kilo
Truyện thơ

i thought it would be around 1.5 kg..n i was close to the real weight☺
Great guess 😊
For the onions, put less in the pot and they will grow bigger. They’re small because they didn’t have room to grow. Thanks for sharing your garden.
Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching 😄
Loved it... Though in my country we never wash onions immediately after harvest. We sun dry the onions with peels. And then remove the soil on the surface. This ensures their long age. And whenever we need to use them.. We wash them. 🙃💗
Ohhhh I’ve learned something new today. Thanks for sharing 😊
Yes it's like potatoes you never wash them you let them dry. They store better with some soil on them.
Well unless you plan to use them right away ... i pulled my onions as I needed them to cook w/ so I washed and then just chopped them up for dinner.
Same
We use our chillies to make - chutney/pickle, dried chilli, chilli powder, sauce/paste, sometimes if they aren’t so hot we stuff them with mince and fry them.
Thanks for watching and great suggestion :)
I am super impressed with how much food you grew in that space!
Thanks 😊
I love container gardening, it’s so satisfying to pick literally the fruits of your labor lol. As for the onions I use deep pots and I add three buds per pot, good potting soil with pebbles at the bottom for drainage. Great garden!!!!
Oh such great tips! Willl consider when planting onions this year!
I grow tomatoes and peppers on my tiny Swedish balcony, and I’m so inspired by your set up! So many beautiful healthy plants in a small balcony space. Wow!
Thanks so much for watching and your kind comment. Yay for balcony gardening 👩🏾🌾
so glad I found your channel. It's not easy finding small space garden channels that are in the UK. 🌱
Happy you’re enjoying it!
Wow you actually inspire me to plant my first garden, now I feel so excited!
You can do it! Thanks for watching! 🙂
i love youtubers like you that respond to comments

Thaaaaaat is some CLEVER use of space. Goodjob!
Thanks! Living in London has really taught me to use every square inch of space in a flat!
This video is amazing! You are blessing others with your gift! Thank you for inspiring me!

Wow..Amazed.with the harvest from the balcony🍅🌶❤❤🤗
Thanks 😊
wow! so satisfying to watch 😌
Glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Love your garden dear
Made me laugh when u ate that pepper. Lol
Beautiful garden , beautiful young woman..
God bless u
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Wonderful Balcony Garden👍 If you really want to grow huge onions, buy seeds and sprinkle them in a small cup or I use the mushroom container I recycle from the grocery store. When they grow to about 6-8 inches high. Separate them. They are tough plants and can easily be separated. Then plant them in your planter. I guarantee you’ll get twice the size of what you harvested from growing sets. Its cheaper too😉👌🏼 Happy gardening!
Thanks for the tips! So helpful, I am going to grow from bulbs in smaller pots first and then transfer them! Looking forward to big onions this year!
Good for you! So satisfying for you!!
Oh your tomatoes...😱💗💗💗💗.... I. LOVE. Tomatoes! And those looked so good🥺🤤
Thank you so much 😊❤️
Amazing, I’m so happy you said “London” as i always see great harvests from YTubers in countries where the sun and heat is almost always present. I have chilli peppers and wild strawberries growing, still young but you give me hope! 🤞
Yay I’m sure your plants will do great. Good luck with the growing and thanks for watching ☺️
I love your content, new here in your home. I love gardening too in my tiny balcony. Your video is great for my inspiration...thanks. And congratulation for your first harvest....well done.
Thanks so much! 😊 Glad you are enjoying my videos!
Greetings from 🇧🇿 and thanks for sharing the video. God bless you!
Thank you!!!
OMG!!!! amazing Garden from balcony. Really nice. I grow tomatoes, peppers and cucumber this year indoor. The tomatoes it grows really well but this year I will try with cucumber and pepper as well. Good job 👍
Thank you! Good luck with your garden this year!
This video is so inspiring! This is a huge harvest from small containers! So awesome and I love your personality! Subscribed :-)
Thank you so much for watching and your kind comments. ❤️
Hi Anika, I freeze excess chillies. They freeze well and ideal if you generally use them in cooked dishes or blended salsa/chutney. Love your garden ❤
Great idea! Something for me to try this year! Thank you 😊
Loved this video! Please make more this upcoming gardening season
I will try to. Thanks for watching
Quite nice balcony garden/harvest! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed watching. I’m so proud of my harvest!
@@AllAboutAnika as you should. It is impressive!
Thank you!! That means so much ❤️
Amazing hobby, lovely. You can finely chop the chillis and slowly cook them together with lots of finely chopped garlic and onions. You can use vegetable oil. Cook over low fire until they are all nice and mushy. Season to taste. Can use them as topping for steamed dumplings together with toasted garlic plus lime juice and soy sauce. Yumm
Thank you for watching and thanks for your great suggestion 😊
You make me so excited about my little balcony garden 😭
I'm growing:
Cilantro
Basil
Chives
Strawberries
Tomatoes
Two types of Peppers
Two types of beans
Squash
Cucumber
Corn
And they're actually doing really well and growing quickly
Next year I plan on adding potatoes and broccoli, I also want to add more fruits in but I'll have to see what's the best potted fruits to grow. I also don't won't to go crazy having a lot of plants to worry about, but I can't wait til I buy a house so I can have a backyard and really go crazy and add fruit trees to the yard.
Yayyyy your balcony garden sounds amazing and so much verity! I also feel the same. I can’t wait to have a house with a garden for space for all my veggies!
Same I also have small balcony I jusst started growing lemon, capsicum ,chilly
I knoW am late
Woww... you inspired me to grow vegetables 🌶 in my balcony... I think this is the right time to start growing vegetables in London.
Yay! So glad I could inspire you! It's is totally possible to grow vegetables on a balcony garden!
I enjoyed seeing your harvest!
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching! :)
Lovely garden lady, beautiful garden and sweet harvest! What a great job you are doing in encouraging folks to grow food in whatever size space we have.🙂
I'm a Central Texas gardener. I think the red pepper you tried was a fully ripe jalapeno. You can eat them green or red. The hotter and dryer the weather the hotter the jalapenos on the plant.
Two recipes you might look up are Armadillo Eggs and Cowboy Candy.🙂
On the onions...you can grow them to a nice size in a pot. Don't crowd them or thin them out by eating smaller ones through the growing season. Also give them the sunnies spot in your beautiful garden. Onions like it hot. Wishing you a super gardening year!🙂
Thank you so much for your lovely comment and all the tips. I’ll def try some of the tricks you mentioned this year on my garden! 😊
Muchas gracias !!! Es una pasada !!
De Nada! :)
Your balcony looks so lovely, very similar to mine, also in London. So good to see more and more people are growing their own fruits/veg.
Yay for London balcony gardening! What are you growing on your balcony this year? It is nice seeing so many people grow more because of the pandemic.
@@AllAboutAnika I'm growing tomatoes, dwarf french beans, some strawberries, a few chilli plants and bought a lemon 🍋 tree. Also have a few marigold and petunias
Sounds amazingggg! Good luck with all the growing!
Wow Small place but big harvesting like your balcony garden 🪴 thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
Really nice video , great garden on balcony, very informative, lots take to take from 👍
Thanks for watching and your feedback 😊
Girl you are right about chiles...they all turn red when riped...onless they are other color. Congrats
Wow! So much food in a small space. You grow girl.
Thanks so much! And thanks for watching 😀
Great job. Also girl you fine fine 😍 woi
😊 thank you
Thank you so much for sharing it.🙌🏾♥️🙏🏽
Thanks for watching
Beautiful balcony garden ❤
Keep de top of the unions above the soil! Your unions will grow better
Good tip. I’ve tried it this year.
I remember you said you fertilize every 2 weeks from the other videos. It's great for tomatoes but it's too much for onions as they'll be growing more big green tops rather than the bulb. Also harvest when the soil and tops are completely dry so it doesn't rot in storage. My fav tomatoes are Green Zebra, Marvel Striped and Beefsteak, I'm planning to grow some capsicum and chocolate reapers on my balcony :D
Thanks for watching and great tip
Loved it!💗
Thanks for watching 😊
i loveeee pepper chili jelly, so good with cream cheese and crackers !! and it’s suuuper easy to make
Yummmmyyy
Wow ...that's great job. 👍

They look so nice and pretty. 😍
Thank you! Cheers!
I always tell I'm super jealous of your growing talents!! 😍 I don't think I would be able to eat those chillies 🤭🤭
Hahahah awwww thanks. I was dying when I ate that chili 🌶 🥵 such a mistake lol 😂
I'm Brazil and I love your Chanel. My son loves tomato 🍅, so beautiful
Thank you 😊
Wow so colourful! Enjoy the veggies 🍅
Thanks for watching ☺️
@@AllAboutAnika you’re welcome
I love it!!! As for the size only do one row in that planter and see if you get bigger onions they need room to widen. Also FYI if you leave the outer papery skin on the onion and just brush off the dirt and then let it dry (look up onion curing) they will last a lot longer. as soon as you rip the outer layer off they won't last as long.
Great tips thanks for sharing!
Wow so beautiful your plants and its healthy all of it 🇬🇧♥️
Thanks 😊
This is so inspiring! Very Lovely! New friend here! Happy New Year to you! All the best
Thank you 😊
Here's my tip..
Onions actually don't grow under the soil.they grow on top of it. So when you plant the seedlings only plant the roots, dont plant the bulb under the soil. They might lean over but it's fine.
Wow! Never knew this! Thanks for the tip & Thanks for watching! 🙂
Heheehe....You are so adorable!!! I laughed out loud when you tried that really hot chili. You reacted like I do to too spicy peppers or chili's....Lol...I found you thru looking up growing harvests on your balcony. I have a big deck so I'm excited to start this spring. Thank you for your video's. I am going to watch as many as possible to catch up. I just found you and subscribed.
Thanks for watching and for subscribing and for your lovely comment!!! Best of luck with your deck garden!
Seeds make it hotter you could make a nice salsa with all your harvest between onions tomatoes and peppers
I did!! It was delicious 🤤
This video makes me so happy :) :)

Very nice..really enjoyed ☺
Thanks for watching
Wow 👌👌
Thanks for watching 😊
I know I’m late but you have all the ingredients for the perfect salsa 😍
Thank you 😋 I love a good salsa! Will make more from this years harvest hopefully!
I had small onions last year. When I tried to find out why, I discovered there are different onions for northern states and southern. I'm in Pennsylvania and should grow "long day" type. It's about hours of daylight. Definitely google it. Your tomatoes look beautiful!
I grew ancho pablano peppers last year and WOW! Loaded plants. I think that's normal for this pepper and it's pretty mild with a little heat. Really nice pepper.
My husband dries a lot of the hot peppers and turns them into powder.
Garlic is easy, I grow it every year.
Wow you sound like you have an amazing garden! I’ll have to look into growing these specific types of onions. Thanks for the tip! I also might look into garlic as that would be a great crop to grow since I cook with it almost every day! 😊
@@AllAboutAnika Plus garlic is medicinal. Anti viral for one. I've been eating garlic toast with a fried egg on top for breakfast because of this virus going around.
Even better at times like these!
Wooo that a big valcony
Thanks
Wow.. Great work
Thanks a lot 😊
❤❤❤❤ Good day to you. Great things you have done. Greeting here from Malaysia. Keep it up. Stay good always ❤❤❤❤
Thank you! You too!
Wow what a great harvest, love it👏 This year all my seeds germinated so I have 43 tomato plants plus loads of jalapeños, spaghetti squash, courgettes and many other veg plants. So think I have my work cut out for me 🤦♀️😂 Looks like I’m going to have to can my own tomatoes so none go to waste. X
Wow! I have about the same number of tomato plants this year as well! Lots of tomatoes to share 😊
Wow beautiful inspirational vedio
Thank youuu ☺️
Enjoyed watching your video 🥬
Thanks for watching 😊
Waw your garden is very beautiful.
So nice of you :)
I really like your video, very inspiring!!
Thanks for watching 😊
Wow great👌👌👍💯
Keep growing 😉
Thanks 😊
Great job very nice👍️❤️🙏
Thanks so much and thanks for watching 😊
Very very good, inspiring
Thanks
My neighbour taught me to brush the soil away from the bulb (once it starts to bulb) not to burry them all the way. He also said to put them in a tiny trench but from what I learned once you water the trench falls so it’s kind of messy to keep up with. You can also try to save those tiny onions and plant them next year!
Great tips! Thanks for sharing!
came for the garden content!!
Will post more garden updates soon!
Wow great
Thanks!
Awesome!
Thanks!
Oh and you are uk too! Okay 👍🏾
Yup, based in London
@@AllAboutAnika there is another London in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦.
Congrats...yea more content like this one
More to come!
I live in a three bedroom house with a front and back yard!! I couldn't live like that in apartments with everyone else looking in!! But well done on creating a balcony garden!! It looks good!! Dried chilli flakes might be something you might like to look into to use up your chillis!! Cheers!!
Amazing you have such a great house. Living in central London usually means you don’t get much space so trying to make do with the space I’ve got! Living outside of London is cheaper and of course more space for a garden.
@@AllAboutAnika I'm in Australia!! So plenty of space!! Can't imagine it would be quiet either!!
The glass is triple pane so it’s very quiet when everything is closed. And yes being American I miss alll the open space you get in places like AUS or California
Wow great job❤️👍
Thank youuuu 😁
So amazing
Thanks 🤩
Wow Dream garden you have 👍
Thanks 😊
those tomatoes look fantastic! Well done!

Peppers freeze great. I pop in freezer and use them throughout winter. I luv your garden.
Great suggestion. Do you freeze them while or do you chop them up?
@@AllAboutAnika Whole. Just pop them in a freezer bag and done. Easy. I did it last summer and forgot they where in there until this spring. Started usung them in dishes like normal. 🙂
Will try that this year!
Great job 👏
Thank you! 😃
