I bought the starter you recommended (the 33329F that I needed). It arrived with something (loose screw?) rattling around inside the starter box. Also the plug on unnecessary extension cord they included was too large to plug into the starter box. Returned. Ordered another from a different seller. Got the identical starter and cord, but no mounting hardware! Plug too big for starter box, too. Two snowstorms later, still no electric starter. This is so aggravating!

    Hi Brian,
Thank you for the nontechnical explanation. I think I killed my starter by trying to start mine with the gasoline valve turned off. DUH. This looks easy enough for me to attempt myself! Can you tell me which starter you got? There are so many on Amazon.

This was the model for what I had:
      Tecumseh Starter 33329 33329C 33329D 33329E 37000 For Snowblower & Snow Thrower a.co/d/9pfioJm
But check your existing model first. Also save the old hardware. I found that I ended up needing the two bolts to screw the starter in as the ones provided with the new starter didn’t fit securely with vibrations.
