I had a 77 Corona here in Florida. We bought it with 55,000 miles and no rust in Bradenton, FL. We drove it about 5 years and sold it with 100,000 miles on it. Everything worked on it. Great car.

My dad bought a 1977 Corona four-door sedan new and I drove it in high school, through college, and one year of law school before the steering pump gave out and we decided it was time to part ways. I think there were 144k miles on the car at 12 years old. That 2.2L engine was indestructible and there was a lot of thoughtful engineering to the car. Toyotas and Hondas of that vintage were lightyears ahead of US brands. I bought a Camry XLE new in 2004 and got 250k miles out of that one. It still ran like new when I sold it.

Why didnt you just replace the steering pump.....

What year was the Camry? And do you think that the camry was better then the Corona?

My mum had one of these. I learned to drive in it. It was a great car but it had to be scrapped after 289,000km due to extensive rust.

Awesome car, those old Toyotas are quickly becoming classics.

I agree and you and the 70's colours like the yellow on this car is unique to that one thing I wish was more common is the brighter vibrant colours or fun colours were more common there is a few out again notably the little hatchbacks like Mazda 2 Fiesta and others one of the Chevrolet's is available in a light pink I believe the Spark I never seen one yet except the picture I want aqua back. and the real aqua/teal/cyan/turquoise the one like the 50's

Had one 1988-93, let go while in great shape for maybe $1500 in Modesto CA came fro NJ few years after new from Orig ownerm My friend. Notice the love seat in the front vs a 'console' contraceptive and bucket seats. Never though they'd become classic. But all mods are okay since it is made before 1976.

My mom bought a new 1974 Corona wagon in this same Color but her's had the fake wood trim down the sides like all the big American wagons!! LOL. The salesman told her the Corona used the same engine as the trucks.

I'm surprised this era of the Toyota Corona's came with an automatic shifter on the column instead of the floor shift like most Japanese cars of this era.

Most of the Japanese cars of this era had major issues with rust protection. That's why you rarely see Japanese cars from the 1970's on the road... They all rusted away... Yep, I'll take this Corona... How much and when can I pick it up?
