American Reacts to Questions About Canada Answered By Ryan Reynolds

- Today I am very excited not just to learn 10 things about Canada, but to be taught by the one and only Ryan Reynolds. From questions on the best places to visit in Canada, to its food, and sports teams nothing is off limits. If you enjoyed the video feel free to leave a comment, like, or subscribe for more!
Ryan is entirely classically Canadian. I don’t understand why you’d think the Canadian has been trained out of him. There’s literally nothing unCanadian about him.
And 25% of the worlds temperate rainforests are located in BC.
William Shatner, Captain Kirk, said he had to practice speaking American. I guess sounding Canadian wouldn't be right in an American show. But, I've travelled most US states and the accents are all different. There is no one USA (or Canadian) accent. It's just stupidity.
The “aboot” misconception really grates on my nerves. I’ve literally never heard anyone in Canada pronounce it that way; from west to east coast.
How about doing some research into your work ahead of time. Ian hanomansing is the famous journalist interviewing Ryan. You didn’t know where he is from?? You could have answered most of your questions by watching the video before. Very annoying to canadians and I’m dual.
@@lakecityfarmer VERY annoying! I stopped watching before it ended because his complete lack of knowledge was irritating me.
You are dealing with an American they don't know crap about canada
The Whitecaps are soccer, the Lions are Canadian football and the Canucks are the NHL team.
All from Vancouver, of course. This is Ryan's home town; as it is for Michael J Fox, Jacob Trembley, Finn Wolfhard, Seth Rogan, Pamela Anderson, and many others.
@@t.a.k.palfrey3882 Not to be picky, but Michael J Fox is from Burnaby (practically Vancouver) and Pamela Anderson is from Ladysmith on Vancouver Island.
I’d say Grizzlies!!
I was freaking dying watching this. I'm not into sports ball at all but him assuming every possible sports team in Canada must be hockey almost made me lose my mind.
@@t.a.k.palfrey3882 Yeah I should have said that, but I kind of thought that would be assumed to be so.
Ryan Reynolds has a quintessentially Canadian sense of humor. We're known for being very sarcastic and self depreciating
* deprecating
I think it's great his wife gets it
And we get irony
@@dixonpinfold2582no depreciating
The littlest hobo is the best show ever! I used to watch that all the time as a child. Just a stray german shepherd going from town to town making peoples lives better, simply by being friendly and helpful, and moving on. Good, wholesome, Canadian television. ❤
The first celebrities I ever met were the dogs (there were actually four of them) who played the Littlest Hobo. They had a special event with the trainer where you could meet the dogs. I was about 5 years old and it was my favourite show, so it was pretty exciting.
@@willbeez60 So lucky! I would love to have met the dogs, even as an adult!
Americans may laugh at the simplicity, but those dogs were beloved by everyone in Canada! Still on CTV in the morning, too!
The humility in that last answer, that Canada is great but not perfect, is, in itself, a very stereotypical Canadian answer! ❤ Gotta love Ryan Reynolds!
I loved that.... I felt so proud of him for saying that....
Why couldn't you just say it's honesty?
‘Don’t toot your own horn 😀 Classic.
Yup. However good (everything is relative) there’s always room for improvement. When you cease feeling that sense of incompleteness/imperfection, that’s when conceit and decadence starts.@@lovetobecolouring2
1000 acre Stanley Park bordering downtown Vancouver is a rainforest.
Ryan is a national treasure.
I just came to the comments to say that!
His sarcasm is hard core Canadian.
PS ... We love Blake Lively too and are trying to steal her! 😂
I really enjoy your curiosity about Canada. I am a former American living in Canada. Yes, absolutely, Canada has its problems, but it's not a troubled society the way the US is. For the decades now, I have watched from afar as my former country has slowly unraveled.
👍👍👍
You'd be shocked to hear how many Hollywood stars and workers plus New Yorkers are Canadian.
The U.S. definitely is facing some troubled times. Often the process of change is difficult but most countries find a way to grow into new and better versions of themselves. It takes faith, hard work and some time. There are wonderful shifts coming that will be challenging but worth it. Just hang in and things will resolve.
The interviewer is Ian Hanomansing. He reported for the CBC and is currently reporting for The National, a CBC news program. He also played an integral part in reporting on the 2010 winter Olympics in Vancouver where he earned the humourous yet complimentary nickname Ian Handsome-man-thing.
Also a Canadian treasure, imo :)
We had a cable company that gave us access to CBC and CBUT. When it came to watching the Olympics, we watched the CBUT coverage, so we’ll done with far more class than our coverage here in the States. A favorite drama is /was Intelligence. Second City TV comes to mind, too.
We love Ian Hanomansing!
@@rosylivesI'm late, saying the same thing a day after you!!!
I mean he is indeed a Handsome Man so well nicknamed.
Rick Hansen, the Man In Motion, was a paraplegic who wheeled across the world for a good cause. I'll tell you more, but he is worth looking up all on his own.
Awesome man, Rick Hansen! 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Rick and Terry Fox met in the hospital while they both were recovering from amputation and car accident injuries. They planned their “marathons” together. I admire those 2 men more than any other Canadian past or present
Got to meet Rick (very briefly) and he’s an incredible inspiration
That man has been through some real shit, and he's overcome some serious trials and tribulations. A genuine hero.
I got to meet him when he came to my school. We had a whole assembly that told us about everything he overcame and gave us all high fives as we were leaving the gym. He was very kind.
Canada not only has rainforests, the smallest desert in the world (Carcross, Yukon), hoodoos of Drumheller and the tablelands of Newfoundland, but many more fantastic land forms all throughout this vast country.
Yes!
Really one of the most geographically and ecologically diverse areas in the world. From Glaciers to tundra like country, lakes, rivers, Coast, Mountain ranges, semi arid deserts, ranch lands, fishing, forestry, ..... that is just British Columbia.
Temperate rainforests. Huge difference.
And some of the oldest fossils in the world: Joggins, Nova Scotia
Close to 25% of the world's temperate rainforest is in BC. Most of it is coastal (where you'll find the protected Great Bear Rainforest), but BC is also home to the Ancient Forest, a rare inland rainforest near Prince George.
The interviewer was Ian.Hanomansing one of Canadas treasures. A true journalist. A great interviewer. A steadfast news reporter. My vote for Canadas best citizens. Yes I love him.
Me too!
He’s got my vote too
Ryan Reynolds is totally Canadian- his self deprecating humour gives it away-
And yes from Vancouver
Ryan is definitely one of those Canadian celebrities who really loves Canada and is invested in it's continued success. He is a very active philanthropist and donates a lot of money to a wide variety of charities and causes across the country, everything from supporting Indigenous organizations, to homeless shelters, to Toronto's SickKids hospital. It is actually super heartwarming to see how active he stays in Canadian issues even if he lives abroad. My favourite story about this is actually during the pandemic. One of my old friends from high school works in communications for a public health unit for a large Canadian city. They were doing incredible public health social media work(hilarious, smart, a ton of content), Ryan is really active on social media and he actually reached out to say how much he was enjoying their coverage. I could not believe he was fallowing the public health communications/social media of a local public health unit that actively. Anyway, he ended up doing a video for them as part of their campaign.
As to the rest of the video, Nova Scotia is gorgeous! When my friends from overseas visit me I'm always recommending BC or NS even though i live in Toronto. And Tyler, you should definitely do a video on Rick Hansen- he is super inspiring and make sure you look up his connection to Terry Fox!
We love Ryan Reynolds! czcams.com/video/nXulsCU1geg/video.htmlsi=3lErbAjBzMZdVKdw
I absolutely love what Ryan said about how Canada isn't perfect. We know this. It's better than many places and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else but we have a lot of room to make things better.
Actually, weirdly enough, Canadian politeness extends to stars. We tend not to freak out the way Americans do when someone famous is in the room. My parents once had dinner in a restaurant where the Rolling Stones were eating. No one disturbed them at all.
So true
Yes, I have been around many celebrities. Because I used to be a Background after in Vancouver. I have to say, for the most part. Canadians don't freak out about the stars. Cause we know they're just people too.
I talked with Robin Williams (rip) and Jim Carrey walking down the street downtown Toronto and they stood and talked to them like normal people and the two of them cracking jokes at each other was hilarious I really miss Robin Williams he was such a great actor it's so sad 😭. I also was arm length away from destiny child back when I was in my early 20's around the same time frame as Jim and Robin also downtown Toronto at much music building out where the stars would come out on the deck outside I was right against the fence you can't cross so you can't reach the stars. I always stayed calm but it was awesome to see those things
Yeah, because we know we wouldn't want to be disturbed at dinner either. 😅
@@dallasburgess5329 Exactly.
I'm not sure anyone else has mentioned it but "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)" was the theme song to the St. Elmo's Fire movie staring Rob Lowe and the rest of the brat pack. It was written by David Foster (Canadian) and is really about Rick Hansen's tour.
"I can see a new horizon underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's flying higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need's this pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin', St. Elmo's fire"
Thanks for reminding me David Foster is Canadian! I mean no one has asked recently but I forgot :)
Yes Ryan is from Vancouver, comes home often & films most of his movies here (Deadpool & The Adam Project recently). Like all celebrities, especially locals, he is left alone & can have a normal life here. This is true of both Vancouver & Toronto where a lot of filming is done. We are polite and don’t bother the actors, they deserve to have a life. He doesn’t have “give away Canadian signs” because no born in Canada, educated and manned person from medium & big cities does. We are all like Ryan and you never know when we might be among you (unless excessive politeness is required). That is why while travelling in Europe & other destinations where being mistaken for an American might be problematic, we make sure those maple leaves & Roots clothing is prominently displayed. A Roots Canada backpack is a great all in one solution and Canadian flag luggage tags seem to protect our luggage from rough handling or disappearing.
Fun fact: Roots Canada was founded by former Detroiters Michael Budman and Don Green.
You really need to look up the song written and performed by Canadian musician Steven Page for Ryan when he received the Governor General Award. It’s amazing, and brought our dear Mr. Reynold’s to tears.
czcams.com/video/nXulsCU1geg/video.htmlsi=3lErbAjBzMZdVKdw
Steven Page Imo, is a very underrated talent.
I found it interesting that Ryan said his favourite TV show was "You Can't Do That on Television", as one of it's cast members was Alanis Morissette, who he was engaged to until 2009.
You caught that, eh?
🤦♀️ oh ya right
I loved that show on Saturday as a tween. It was so funny and just fun to watch. Excellent choice that no one mentions.
@@SM-sy5cd I was still a kid, but I remember having a huge puppy love crush on Moose.
I was at school with some of the cast. I worked at Dunkin Donuts across the street from the set. I was making $2.10/hr and they were not. 😂 No one was bothered or overly impressed by their success, that’s the thing about Canada we do treat people the same. Having lived in both countries I’d live in Canada any day over the US.
I wish you had looked up "Spirit Bear" when he mentioned them, they are a colour morph of black bears giving them an amazing cream/blond fur
I'm not sure what you meant by Ryan hiding his Canadianisms. He sure looks sounds and acts like a Canadian to me.
Tyler, with all the upheaval in America, you're always so upbeat. I don't know how you do it but keep doing it. You always seem to make me smile.
The Great Bear Rainforest is somewhat isolated by mountains & sea, so the black bears and wolves are a little genetically different from all others. Kermode Bears produce 1 out of 10 white cubs, and the wolves have taken to something of a marine diet, uncommon to wolves.
Theres some really interesting documentaries on the "sea wolves". I grew up up there, I miss it so much
I'm in Ontario (not Toronto) and I'm really sorry I didn't know it was there. You know where we keep our heads. I want to visit BC even more now
Vancouver Island is almost completely a temperate rainforest.
😊
The more you know.
Dude, I'm from Ottawa, and it's basically Arctic Lite here. 😂 It's amazing that Canada has so much diversity in our weather.
@@Hollyucinogen can’t be as bad as🤦🏾Thunder Bay.
I do t miss it.
You don’t have to shovel rain.
Lol
Well until recently when we hit drought level 5… 😢
You should look up the story of Ken Taylor, ( former canadian ambassador to Iran} . He is a true hero to both Canadians and Americans, and is largely forgotton.
Ryan went to Kitsilano High School in our hometown as did I and my family. A good guy all around. As for Minerva's, I'm pretty sure he gets treated like one of the family.
Ian is a great interviewer.
The notion Canada is more utopian is often just a comparison to the US.
Would have loved a longer interview with these two.
I've long admired the voice of CBC journalist and news anchor Ian Hanomansing (doing the interview with Ryan Reynolds). You're right to debunk the American myth of the Cdn "aboot" (about). Glad to see talented Canadians representing Canada so well. Enjoying your podcasts, Tyler - a great mix of authentic surprise, joy, and humility. :)
I also Ian Hanonansing
Ian's such a great journalist......love him!
Ian and his family were clients at a custom framing shop I used to have on Cambie St. in Vancouver. Super nice people with zero ego. And hearing that buttery smooth voice addressing you personally is almost enough to make a man flip teams!
Ian has a beautiful voice
I call him Ian ‘handsome mansing’ 😜
The interviewer is Ian Hanomansing a host for the CBC National News. Has worked for CBC for many years and has an instantly recognizable voice to many Canadians.
I agree with Ryan on that last one. Canada most certainly isn’t perfect. We have our flaws just like every other country but I genuinely believe Canada is the greatest country in the world. If you look at the lists of top countries for education, healthcare, jobs, housing and so on Canada is nearing the top of most of those lists. I think more frequently than any other country. That being said just like Ryan said, it’s no utopia. We still have political issues and healthcare issues and housing issues and employment issues. Canada also has a major drug problem and a really dark history among other things. We’re far from perfect but I couldn’t be more proud to be Canadian despite our flaws
I feel like Ryan Reynolds is SOOOO Canadian: his kindness, his self deprecating humour and his good, giving heart. I'm sure he has bad days, but he seems to embody Canadianism to me.
Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling, and Jim Carrey are all Canadian born actors
A couple Ryans and a Jim, lol sounds like a comedy movie
Also Lorne Greene was Canadian.
@@SunnyDaze-uq8ed Just checked IMDB - Born February 12, 1915 in Ottawa,
Reynolds is also a big philanthropist to many Canadian organizations. Fun fact, during Covid he bought pizza for 385 grads of kits high which he also attended. Love your show and insights Tyler, you are hardy an ‘typical average American’ , but you are a gem!
When we had devastating floods in British Columbia in 2021, he and Blake donated to Red Cross.
We were evacuated and received money from Red Cross.
The guy asking the question is Ian Hanomansing, a news anchor on CBC. He's not just "some guy". But I have always thought Ian had the most beautiful Canadian accent. Absolutely perfect pronunciation.
A Spirit Bear is a white Black Bear indigenous to that forest and is very rare, much like the Spirit Moose.
I always wanted the Littlest Hobo to stay with the people he was helping, but at the end of every episode he moved on to the next town. It was heartbreaking as a kid but I guess it was his mission to keep helping people instead of being a family pet.
Oh, god.. I had to stop watching The Littlest Hobo as a kid cus I ALWAYS cried at the end when he’d leave.
I couldn't watch either 😢
The same with lassie and believe it or not , now I'm going way back here 1972!
Ben with Micheal Jackson kills me every time 😂
@@jessicawadleigh9068 Yup, same with me.
@@marymwallace4412 I don't remember Ben.
Am I the only one that would get sad and nostalgic with the theme song of the littlest Hobo?
Americans love Ryan because he behaves like …….a Canadian! 🤭
I loved the show The Littlest Hobo! I love living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Ryan is a very nice person, he loves Canada and does a lot of good deeds
The song Man in Motion was written by another great Canadian. Our very own David Foster.
We love Ryan Reynolds. He's a good actor and he's funny and down to earth.
Greek souvlaki is the best, you should seek it out :) And thanks for covering Ryan Reynolds. If you haven't already, you could look up the video when he received the Governor General's award a couple of years ago. With the former lead singer of the Barenaked Ladies singing a song about him. Very heartwarming.
That is such a great tribute ❤

"Canada Loves You Back"......by Steven Page. I'm singing it in my head right now. And it's very true.....
It really is good I think that the souvlaki from Ottawa would give you a run for your money, it's absolutely delicious and we have many Greek and Lebanese restaurants in the city.
Yeah, that was great, so much fun, so Canadian.
People typically associate the term "rain forest" with places like the Amazon, or places in south east Asia. But those are tropical rain forests. Here in BC, we have Temperate rain forests - because it rains a lot, but is not as hot.
I grew up in both temperate rainforests here in BC. The great bear rainforest is such an amazing biome and so rich in history and indigenous cultures.
Spirit Bears, also known as kermode bears, have a specific gene mutation that make them white (including their claws). They arent albino, or polar bears, and only exist in the region of Canada.
There are movies on both the rainforest and the Sea wolves in that area. But dont be fooled, not all wolves in the area are smaller sea wolves. One night my grandpa thought he was driving up on an elk along the side of the road....nope. It was a wolf.
I was gonna say the same thing almost identically lmao 😂 I lived in Terrace for 15 years and is was amazingly beautiful. Never had the luck of seeing a Kermode though, even though they are the city mascot lol.
Dang, a wolf the size of an elk is alarming 😳 How cool!
Corner Gas is a great Canadian TV show and it amazes me that American's don't realize a lot of the US is above our most southern point.
Nova Scotia is small and the whole province is worth visiting... nice welcoming people livevthere too. Worth the trip.
Our health care is in a lot of trouble.
And saying Nova Scotia wasn't 'vague' at all. This was a Canadian program and the viewers understand why people want to visit Nova Scotia - no explanation required.
If you’re coming to Nova Scotia, best bring a tent if you intend to stay. Housing is at crisis level.
Our health care system is a BIG mess here too in Québec.
The interviewer is Ian Hanomansing - one of Canada's best news anchors. He is originally from New Brunswick, but is now in Vancouver with CBC Television.
And he had the nickname Ian "Handsome man thing" when he was a little younger.
Rick Hansen (Man in Motion) was basically carrying on for Terry Fox . Saw both of them and so inspiring! Loved the opening music for the Littlest Hobo.
Canada has everything..yes including a rainforest.🇨🇦
The man asking the questions is Ian Hanomansing, the main anchor for CBC's evening news "The National". He is the successor of Peter Mansbridge (who was the best known Canadian news anchor)
Few things for you Tyler, I used to know Alanis Morissette personally and she got one of her first big breaks on "You can't do that on television", the littlest Hobo was a massive hit in the early 80's that I remember watching as a 4 or 5 year old. The joke about fav show "The National" is that was the newscast that the interviewer Ian Hanomansing works on. Cheers.
The original Littlest Hobo aired in the '60s (when I watched it), and it was revived for a new generation in the '80s. A kid's show about a dog. What could be better?
I felt like part of a secret society, understanding exactly what Ryan Reynolds was talking about. Pity he missed the Beachcombers--heard he loved that show!
Hello from Nova Scotia! Just a FYI, Canada also has a desert. They are call 'Athabasca Sand Dunes. Located in northern Saskatchewan. Hope you have a great day. :)
After you learn about Rick Hansen (very well worth it), look up his appearance on The Rick Mercer Report when they go bungee jumping together. Yes, a guy in a wheelchair can go bungee jumping! It's great and they are both hilarious. I haven't seen anyone do a reaction to that yet and would love to see it.
The best line in that episode is when Rick said, while falling, "I can't feel my legs!." Very funny.
@@johnbrowne2170 Spoiler alert! (But you're right!) Another is when Mercer was getting ready to go and he said he hoped Hansen would be the only one in a wheelchair after all this. lol It is a great clip on many levels. Mostly about raising awareness that people with spinal cord injuries can do just about anything.
Having lived elsewhere in the world, I do remember being so grateful to be able to come home and not have to deal with the nonsense and quirks of societies where I didn't completely fit in. Still appreciate my home and native land!
I don't know what part of Canada you're from, but where I live, everything has turned into nonsense. We've gotten so progressive that people don't believe in scientific facts like 2 genders anymore and if you don't go along with that nonsense, you're a bigot and can lose your job or even your kids. That's not freedom, it's forcing you to affirm the delusions of mentally unstable people. I feel like we're living in some clown world and I'm waiting to wake up and have everything go back to normal again. This is so unhealthy for society and confusing for children.
True North, Strong and Free!!!!
I love my country 💝😻❤️😻,y province, andy city!!!
We adore Ryan here in Canada❤️. He has done many wonderful things here.
Souvlaki can be found at any Greek restaurant anywhere. Whitecaps--soccer
Canucks-- hockey
Lions-- Canadian football
Victoria is indeed a beautiful city. Ryan Reynolds is a proud Canadian. ❤️🇨🇦
Ryan and I attended the same High School (Kitsilano Secondary) albeit years apart. This was in Vancouver B.C. Canada. He also donates so much to different things dear to his heart.
My daughter also went to kits
During the first year of Covid when all graduation ceremonies and celebrations were cancelled, Ryan Reynolds bought every member of the Kits grad class a pizza from Nat's. It was a small gesture but really special. As someone else who went to Kits, you'll get it.
Soccer is huge in Canada. Despite their showing at the recent women’s World Cup, the Canada women are in the top 10 in the world and won gold at the last olympics. The great bear rain forest is home to the kermode or spirit bear which, due to a genetic anomaly is a white bear but is related to brown and black bears. Rick Hansen is from Williams lake bc and did a world tour for spinal cord research. The song was written by Vancouverite David foster, a big music producer
It’s probably worth noting that Rick Hansen and Terry Fox were friends, played on the same wheelchair basketball team. Rick was inspired by Terry’s Run for Hope to do his Man in Motion world tour to both raise funds for spinal research and to raise awareness of the problems wheelchair users faced in getting around, especially in countries that didn’t give it much thought or basically locked away the disabled and different.
1. How do Americans not know Ryan Reynolds is Canadian? He openly discusses it all the time!
2. The littlest hobo was a major part of a lot of children's lives. Even though it was sad that every episode someone fell in love with him, but he had to "keep moving on", it was teaching us all to help other's.
3.Souvlaki- I dont think I've ever been to a food court that didn't have souvlaki. There are 4 souvlaki places within a kilometer of my house.
4. I don't think a lot of Americans realize how big and varied Canada is. People from Maine, Florida and California have different accents, lifestyles, politics, food preferences etc. Why would Canadians be any different? Our Country is HUGE!!!
definitely watched littlest Hobo as a child! I can still remember the theme song. Ryan is a great Canadian having done so much for Canada.
We also have The Canadian Badlands. Southern Alberta / Saskatchewan. Basically just across the boarder from Montana. Alberta has something called The Devils Coulee - its a dinosaur museum. The whole area is basically a dinosaur graveyard
Been to drumhellar and badlands national park… the park was fantastic… when you see a dinosaur actually in the ground, it makes it so real
You're not alone, Tyler. When speaking socially with acquaintances in the US, few knew that very popular actors were Canadian. Actors such as: Michael J Fox, Jacob Trembley, Seth Rogan, Jim Carrey, Ryan Gosling, Keanu Reeves, Kiefer Sutherland, or Matthew Perry, for example. 🇨🇦

The high school Ryan attended has a really high Greek population. Plus, he's still good friends with some of his old high school buddies.
When he worked at Safeway, one of the assistant managers told him he'd never amount to anything, because he was lazy😂😂 he worked graveyard shift, after going to casting calls through the day and would take naps at work!!
If you’d like to see a glimpse into what Ryan has done for Canada, you should check out the dedication they made for him. He’s an amazing guy. ❤️
He chose the soccer team because he is part owner of a historic Welsh football team, who have been transformed from an underdog into a winning team by the new ownership. There is a documentary series about it - "Welcome To Wrexham".
I'm glad he chose a Welsh team. I'm part Welsh.
As a Canadian watching this, I cannot believe how little you know about Canada!!!
That's his shtick. If he actually admitted knowing stuff about Canada, he'd no longer be an 'average, typical American.'
You must be new to the channel, welcome. This is the entire premise of his channel. An American not knowing so the videos are to educate him. He openly admits his lack of knowledge however, if you watch his video, you will see that he knows more than most Americans from doing his channel. We call him an honorary canadian for his willingness to learn and because of how much he has learned
Thanks!!
Not fair! How much do YOU know about the US?
The Littlest Hobo was awesome! Also a young Alanis Morissette was on You can’t do that on television which was also awesome!
For your comment around 7:50 about the rainforest and where they can exist...well, as per the name, they need "rain". The west coast of BC, which is west of the Coastal Mountain Range, gets a TON of rain; clouds pick up the moisture from the ocean, come inland, crash into the mountains and start dumping the moisture to lose the weight so they can get over the mountains. That much rain in that area actually makes a sizeable portion of BC's west coast (often nicknamed the "wet" coast for this reason; Raincouver and Lotus Land are other popular ones) technically classified as rainforest; little ol BC contains about 25% of the WORLD's temperate rainforest.
But with water comes life. I live close to Vancouver, and on my drive to and from work I can see big, healthy deer on the side of the highway on a near monthly basis during the warmer months, and there's a section of road between farmland where in certain months you could drive one stretch of it and see over 50 big healthy bald eagles in the trees in the span of 10 seconds (And don't get me started on the raccoons...they are rampant). If I get to see stuff like that on a regular basis, It can rain all it pleases over here :)
Just sayin....The water-logged clouds butt up against the Coastal mountain range, and dump their rain, not the Rockies. That's why the Thompson Okanagan is North America's northernmost desert region.
@@robscott9414 Okay so I suck at geography 😝. Never claimed otherwise. COASTAL mountain range, I'll edit the post

Vancouver has an incredibly diverse food scene you can get anything! Victoria is beautiful but go up island to pacific rim national park and Tofino for stunning beaches. I love how you nailed everything about Rick Hansen just by the picture.
Please note, Ryan has been known to joke "don't go to Canada when you need to fix your own issues first" ;)
The Littlest Hobo helped to shape my childhood, how dare you laugh at it! That intro and outro song still makes me cry to this day, and I’m 45. My love of animals most likely came from this show.
The Great Bear Rain Forest is a "coastal" rain forest caused by humidity coming from the ocean trapped by the rocky mountains. It can occur almost everywhere in the world as long as there's mountains near the coast.
Or would it be trapped by the Coast Mountains, as the Rockies border Alberta. Love your sharing Tyler. 😊😊

I have to admit, when I was younger and found out Ryan Reynolds was from Vancouver, I was very very proud. We also like Ryan Reynolds.

So popular, everybody remembers the Littlest Hobo's song. In french or english, it's a canadian classic.
All three are Vancouver sports teams, but the Canucks are hockey (NHL), Lions are football (CFL), and Whitecaps are a soccer team. The same sports that are popular in the US are also popular in Canada; however, the order of popularity differs, with hockey being first, football or baseball second depending on where you live, basketball, and soccer. The interviewer is Ian Hanomansing, a CBC news anchorman. The guy in the wheelchair is Rick Hanson, a Canadian, who tried to wheelchair around the world in the 80's.
Okay cool as an American I always wondered what was the second most popular sport after hockey. I get different answers so I assume it’s regional
@@westhoodqualzini7884 In Western Canada, football is huge. Less so in the Toronto area, but super popular in Quebec as well.
@@terryomalley1974 It’s the same here in USA the more rural parts like south and Midwest it’s the NFL and everything else last. Hockey is very regional like baseball. Baseball is popular in like Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Atlanta where there’s historical teams. Hockey is only popular in the northern United States. North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Boston etc
Number 2 sport in Toronto is baseball
@@kevinpacheco9869 I'd agree. Baseball is definitely #2 throughout Ontario. Football #2 in tge West and Quebec.
Please please do a video on Rick Hanson and the Man in Motion Tour. He is an amazing Canadian hero!
Almost half of North America’s & 25% of the world’s rainforests are in British Columbia😁
Canadians would absolutely treat Ryan like any other guy. And would absolutely polarize around his choice of sports team. :P
Special white bears, white black bears are sacred there.
The three teams that Ryan was asked about were 3 Vancouver/BC teams, a NHL hockey team (Canucks), a soccer team (Whitecaps), and a CFL football team (Lions). Football (the soccer variety) is quite popular in Canada because of the number of immigrants (and the following generations) who still follow their country of origin's football team, the fact that soccer is a popular sport for children and probably a whole bunch of other reasons I can't even think of right now.
I love that Ryan loves Victoria (he was born in Vancouver) Several of his movies were filmed here 😍
Okay , Canadian Singers : Brian Adams , Loverboy , Shania Twain ,April Wine , Celine Dion , Michel Bublé . When Ian asked about Canucks, Whitecaps and Lions, he asking Ryan to choose between regional hockey, soccer and Canadian football.
You're probably thinking of tropical rainforests. Temperate rainforests are different but yes, they are still categorized as rainforests.
The Littlest Hobo is Canada's version of Murder She Wrote, but we couldn't afford the old lady. 😅
I live in Vancouver, which is on the edge of that rainforest you're talking about, so yes, there's a rainforest in B.C.
There are many more rain forests in BC. On Vancouver island, for example....
Possibly your best episode ever, thanks to Ryan.
Ryan Reynolds is part of the Ryan squared phrase as Ryan Gosling is also Canadian. They are both treasures!
Oh boy, after watching many, many of your videos, you really exemplify the typical American knowledge of Canada. You would be stunned by the knowledge Canadians have of the US and many other countries.
I hate it when Canadians brag about being better or knowing more about something. Tyler is humbly learning about his great neighbour to the north. That's awesome! Nothing more needs to be said. No need to say that we know more about something.
Rick Hansen.. Man in Motion...
Yes..look up a clip on him.
The littlest hobo was one of the best tv shows and should've been on the video about Canadian tv episode
Dude, check out the "Spirit Bear" it is only found in thar region and nowhere else in the world. It is not a polar bear. It resembles a black bear but is completely white.
Ryan was born and raised in Vancouver, and still spends a lot of time there. His family is still all there. And btw, Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii, and the entire west coast of British Columbia is temperate rain forest.
We have Temperate Rainforests, not Tropical Rainforests. ALL of the BC coast is Temperate Rainforest.
