Good review. I was wondering if manga was a part of your series reviews. If so, i reccomend Pluto by Naoki Urasawa. Its a retelling of a famous astroboy arc and really becomes its own thing. Its pretty short (65 chapters) and I think it strikes the perfect balance between Monster and 20th century Boys. It's amazing how back then they used slides to carry a scene. And in 2021....they still do it and I really do not like that at all. Especially in Netflix animes, so much money and production power and still using old and obsolete tricks. Pure laziness. Sorry when you mentioned the use of slides, I had to get this out. It's so lazy. Great review tho Bob!
I can understand that perspective as a consumer, but having those shortcuts in your bag of tricks can come in handy when you have no choice but to use them. Plus from what I hear, Netflix pays Japanese animators the bare minimum (according to animators on the Yasuke project)
@@bobsamurai You're right, I understand it can be useful. But as of lately it's been abused, maybe it's just the animes *I* watch. Maybe it's just me lol
@@joesosick1675 i look at it frame by frame for editing and there are tons of tricks they use, especially now that its digital and they can copy and paste

The animation can look really incredible in places and I don't even care about that stuff that much.
Great review. But the Discotek blu Ray release actually does have an English dub, just FYI.
I watched it and loved it. Its pretty interesting to see how it influenced other future anime at every level.
