While I was student at Djibouti University, macalin FAARAX WACAYS RAAGE (Caarre) used to come to the unversity, mostly afternoon, to look for students willing to learn their culture, identity and social contract (Xeer).... Unfortunelly, that was not our focus, nobady used to sit and learn. Very hearbrocken, when I've learnt he passed away in 2018. He is gone with the heritage we refused to responsibly accept. May Allah grant him his Janna.
there are many others living in rural areas with good knowledge of our heritage, we need to record their knowledge (oral or written) before they pass away.
