  • In terms of fragrances, Mauboussin is not a prominent house. However, this early 2000s design by Alberto Morillas is an anomaly with a nice woody spicy smell.
By then, Morillas was already a world-class perfumer. The list was long and included Xeryus, Tommy Cologne, CKOne, ADG, Pi, 212, M7, and others. This is a pretty nice, inventive, and reasonably priced fragrance, even though it's not as good as the ones that came before it.
With loads of cinnamon and a play-doh aftertaste, it moves from being almost exactly like a fougère to something more woodsy and spicy. Patchouli, cinnamon, and sage combine in some strange way to create that powdery/doughy flavor. The end product is an intriguing twist on a woody-spicy flavor with hints of sweetness and herbal components.
More like to Heritage, but with less depth and richness.
After a play-doh effect and a herbaceous (sage and lavender) and warm (cinnamon) start, it finally settles down to a light patchouli with vanilla and cinnamon combination after two to three hours.
Once more, not the best woody spicy out there, but definitely hidden. I find it really enjoyable to wear my antique EDT, which has a built-in sprayer that you have to switch on. I think the sprayer mechanism is interesting, and the bottle itself is extremely cool.
There is a decent bubble in the first hour to hour and a half, and the duration is good (around 8 to 10 hours). I can definitely suggest it for the price, especially if you enjoy spicy, woodsy scents.
