They did not over look the semifinals, they played hard trying to come back off their ill advised turn overs, they just were careless with ball protection. I believe both losers of the semifinals (N.S and D’Ville) each had 4 turnovers against solid teams = L always. Credit to both underdogs for protecting the ROCK
Wagner Prosper nah they definitely did look past them, those who were actually at the game and not watching highlights would know. Southlake had turnovers too, but came ready to play. Ducanville tried to be flashy on the defensive side and it cost them.
This was fun to rewatch but what’s even crazier is the 2021 Westlake team is even better.

As a Westlake Dad whose sons both play football for Westlake I can only be grateful for such football programs which help our kids to become better men. I am sure many families involved in these excellent Texas football programs feel similar to me. Ultimately, win or lose, it does not matter. Getting up every day to go put in the work, getting up from falling, and picking up your teammates forges these young men.
Congrats Westlake dad!!. Now I have a question what do y’all feed y’all’s kids. I played against you guys and every player on the field was like 6’3+

Yeah, I was in an argument with a coach for mater Dei in California in the CZcams comments at the beginning of the season after IMG beat D’ville and I told him then that Westlake was the best team in Texas and IMG picked a weak D’ville to play against. He didn’t know who Westlake was and I told him that they’re set up to be better than N. Shore and D’ville. Westlake won the state championship with ease and I made the greatest prediction of my life in that moment; week 2 of the season. Eff California!!!

The QB of Sealy was knocked out during the game and the team never really accepted the loss At a reunion of sorts the QB recalled a faulty referee call that would have turned the game to Sealy. He recalled the play and call in detail as my father and I listened intently. My father had never heard this detail before. My father then said, "We should sue to change the outcome of the game," The QB wasn't up for it though and with that, the final outcome came to an official close some 64 years after the game was played!

Westlake just came out and hit the bully straight in the mouth and North Shore tried but just couldn't handle it. Westlake was just to aggressive. Great game though.
NS responded like had not been hit all year. Westlake hit them in the mouth from the get-go and did not let up.....
