  • "Chip War" author Chris Miller discusses the enormous cost and complexity of manufacturing microchips -- "most complex manufacturing humans have ever undertaken," he says, built at "the most expensive factories in human history" -- explaining why it would be hard to relocate the industry center from Taiwan, which "controls 90 percent of the market."

I dont know anything but like cost, efficiency, outsourcing combined like does it is cost more to work to manage foreign homogenous factories and not have the knowledge to democearize tech in pluralistic society. Like whats the outcome of outsourcing, like what.

"Cost" and "complexity" are not two different causes of anything. They are different aspects of the same thing, the capital input to production.
Nor do they "explain" anything: an investment is either worthwhile or it isn't.
