Full Body Pilates with Stretchy Band ~ "Reformer on the Mat" ~ A Pilates Sculpt and Tone Workout

    This “reformer on the mat” full body pilates workout incorporates mat exercises that are similar to the movements we perform on the pilates reformer machine. We’ll be using a stretchy band, which assists in mimicking the exercises where feet or hands are in the reformer straps or on the footbar. This additional resistance will give you a deeper connection to your powerhouse!
    Adding a stretchy band to a pilates workout is a wonderful way to add variety to your routines while also building additional strength in your whole body! This routine is great for both beginner and intermediate levels, and modifications are included.
    This full body pilates workout is part of a Pilates Sculpt and Tone 30-Day series, but you do not need to do the series to complete this workout. It’s wonderful as a standalone pilates full body routine as well.

    The bands sure give great resistance. Very enjoyable addition to the session. I will be adding this video to my regular rotation. Now I am curious about reformer workouts as well. Thank you again!

    Great as allways please do more sessions with ring and band . It’s so much better to wok against and with resistens even more so when you have had sever injuries like me it helps to guide and contrôle . I love it 😻 helps me a lot thank you

    I haven’t used a band for Pilates before so had to borrow one. But wow I really did enjoy the extra resistance it gives so I will be buying my own. I love the sound of the Reformer but I don’t imagine I will find a facility with this equipment in or around the small North of England town where I live so it will have to be more band work for me! I'm so happy you enjoy working with the band :) And there are so many possibilities to use it in pilates as well as other workouts, so I think you'll really benefit from getting one of your own. Mat work is amazing, especially when you can use additional props, and it is plenty amazing on it's own with no access to other equipment! Keep it up, Diane! So happy to have you here :)

    Had a harder time with some of these moves; didn't have a band so I think I psyched myself out. I used 1.5 lb wrist/ankle weights [2]. Still feel a good 🔥. ♡

    I ordered a body band, which came in a roll. Is there a standard measurement for a long band? I will need to cut the band at the length needed. Thank you! I love your workouts, especially the resistance band workouts.

      I too love the resistance bands! I like mine to be no less than 6 feet long. That's longer than the ones that come pre-cut (which are closer to 4 feet I think), but I find that the extra length works well for many of the exercises. I hope that helps!

      I understand your feedback - I give a lot of cues during my teaching to ensure people understand if they are in the correct positioning, but I know that's not for everyone!
