I see far better results using Potassium Silicate, but you must mix fresh nutrient solution daily. Which is exactly what Rex just said about Power Si. Go see Jeremy at Build a Soil, order KSil16H add 560g per gallon of water use 1/4-1/2tsp per gallon to feed roots, 1/2tsp per gallon foliar. You can make 4 gallons of solution for $60, which is less than a quart of Rex's gear. You will also get about 3x the plant available Silica. You are already using Jack's, don't fall for this shit, it's just Advanced Nutrients all over again and it will remain that way until Silica is listed as a required nutrient and the real numbers have to be on the label.

You can also turn Potassium Silicate into Monosilicate Acid.
Grab a bottle of Armor Si ( or Potassium Silicate of your choosing)
      Sorbitol snd Phosphoric Acid.
I got a killer recipe that allows to turn 1 quart of Armor Si into about 10 gallons of a better monosilisic acid than Power Si and is extremely cheap.

@@timpage5021 You cut a 4% Silica solution 40x and acidify it? KSi is only stable at very high pH and becomes unstable at the pH of typical hydroponic reservoir. I try to use the whole reservoir in one day as the Silica in the acidic solution will polymerize and precipitate in less than 24hrs.

      @@BigFarm_ah365 couple things
1 I didvt say 40 times 2 it’s basic science. Not complicated whatsoever. Monosilic acid is basically watered down potassium silicate..
You can use Armor Si or Silica blast or any potassium silicate of your choice it dosent matter.. I mentioned Armor Si because it’s 10% potassium silicate.
But here is my recipe. You’re welcome and feel free to research it for yourself . It makes a much better and stronger % of monosilicic acid than Power Si and more plant availability. At a significantly cheaper price.
      Inputs
      1. Armor Si
      2. Sulfuric Acid
      3. Sorbitol
      4. Distilled water ( a must )
      Directions
      1. Using a 1000ml beaker add 500ml distilled water and a magnetic stirrer.
      2. Weigh and add 200g of sorbitol to the distilled water.
      3 . Start magnetic stirrer
      4. After sorbitol is completely dissolved add 100ml of Armor Si ( or potassium silicate of choice)
5 . Stir Armor Si and sorbitol solution for 10 minutes.
      6. Add 10ml of > 90% sulfuric acid to the solution and stir for 5 minutes
Note take no longer than 30 seconds between adding sulfuric acid and final stirring stage.
Now you have a stable monosilicic acid at a fraction of the cost of Power Si.
Don’t fall into the traps of over paying for simple products. Power Si and the products like it are as bad as Advanced Nutrients and carbo load ( sugar water.)
      Anyway you’re welcome.
Use it don’t use it makes no difference to me. But I’m sure someone will come along and be thankful that somebody from the industry is helping out the community.
      Cheers.

@@timpage5021 If you take a quart of Si solution and make 10 gal, 40 quarts in 10 gallons. That's Daniel Fernandez simple recipe, you should drop his name for extra cred. Look at open salts wiki for all kinds of DIY recipes, good stuff. I've made the Regalia, the Pure Crop 1 and I use the organic acids in the cheap and easy. By the way 100mL of KSil solution makes approx 1 L of this recipe. You end up with way more Phosphorus than everything else combined. You are "stabilizing" the Monosilicic Acid, not making MSA. Silica in an acidic solution IS OrthoSilicic or MonoSilicic Acid. As long as you use all you prepare within 24 hours, you don't need to do anything to use Potassium Silicate solution directly in your reservoir. It does raise the pH, add it first and adjust pH down to 8-8.5, my nutes bring it down the rest of the way

I have gotten great yields with the same clone not using power si. Maybe I used it wrong but I don’t think I’ll ever use this stuff again. Total garbage.

It's overpriced, and not particularly high in Si for a Si solution. The fact that it's the second most abundant mineral on Earth and the $100/L price and less than 1% Si concentration, would make me want to punch someone right in the face, because they rippin yo ass off. But Silica should help uptake nutrients, just for the simple fact that it is a positive ion, the plant has to balance so many negative ions that it uptakes it can use any help available to remain electrically balanced.

People who never used Pro-Tekt pay $100/Liter for < 1% Si solution and think it's magic. Stuff was suddenly in every grower's hands who had a following on IG. A few month's later sold to Grow Gen at the peak of them throwing investor cash at anyone able to offer them legitimacy. Those clowns were all convicted Wall St fraudsters. I've always been a big fan of Silica. Props to Rex for astroturfing the second most abundant mineral on Earth, pumping and dumping it at it's peak, to a bunch of mobster wanna be's, who were offering Joe investor a chance to buy into the Green Rush. My buddy sold his 3 stores to GG for big bucks. He built them up from the ground, they were booming before he sold them, and are pretty dead any time I stop in to get CO2 tanks filled. Small growers buy from hydro stores, huge growers buy direct from manufacturers. New grower's buy from Amazon and Aliexpress
