Leo doesn't need to do Marvel or DC. Leo is his own franchise.
Same for Tom Cruise
@@erik9157 Tom cruise damn near plays the same role in every movie he’s in. No doubt a great actor not taking that away from him but Leo’s range is on a whole other level
@@andrewdijoseph904 Leo is the best actor of all time. Tom is the great movie star. There's a difference
@@andrewdijoseph904biggest movie star
He’s so far above that homogenised production line garbage. He deserves better than to have his name mentioned with comic book crap.
Leo is the G.O.A.T... I've been saying this for almost 10 years now. He did Titanic as a kid, playing the role of the hopeless romantic. He does shutter Island, a creepy, slow burner. Then inception, a psychological action thriller. Django, Gatsby, the revenant... He made all of the movies he was in great and managed to not get tied down to a particular role.
What's eating Gilbert Grape was his coming out he should have gotten an Oscar
Wolf of wall Street

That's 2 DiCaprio movies that people don't mention, but are awesome movies that he is brilliant in
Blood diamond is legitimately one of the most underrated movies. He should've won for that
Sure is I saw it at a theatre & it was fantastic, brutal but awesome.
Yeah, Blood Diamon is up there with Departed and Inception. Epic movie.
well you should see leo in body of lies. he spoke arabic n not just one or two sentences. i mean conversations long kind of arabic
His accent seemed funny to me.
Leo is excited and confident about his work therefor he shows up prepared. Anyone can do that in their own field if they are confident about what they do.

Well said!
Finally somebody said it. The most dynamic actor of all time.

“All time” lol that’s a stretch. You know Jack Nicholson won 3 Oscar’s when they actually meant something
@@justinhopper5941 jack actually won 2
@@RL-ww5ev He won for terms of endearment, coo coo’s nest and as good as it gets. That’s three
Let me ask a simple question to those comparing Leo to other GREAT actors like DeNiro or Pacino. We’ve seen other actors do impressions of both of them and some are good at them too. But I’ve never seen someone do an impression (I might be wrong) of Leo. Why? Because he’s acting tendencies are always different depending on the role. We all know DeNiro will smirk no matter what the role asks, Pacino will yell but Leo is on a different level. Just my opinion.
Nah, Leo’s alright. If you want to see a true actor, look at Daniel Day Lewis. DDL outperformed Leo in Scorsese’s Gangs of New York.
@@treenincove1726 ofcourse Daniel day Lewis is top tier stuff ....But remember, That Leo of 2002 in gangs of new York has evolved a lot....Just compare the two back to back performances--Wolf of wall street and the Revenant....in former movie, he is playing high octane energy character with long crazy speeches and dialogues and then in Revenant, he has very few dialogues in the whole movie, it's almost a silent film...In Revenant, he has acted with his body language alone....Now that's not just range but also great depth ...
@@intheair5434 Many people will disagree with me but I honestly think he's just alright. The performance where I thought he transcended into true masterclass to me was Django. In Django, he was ASTONISHING. Everywhere else he's good, but not astonishing. And that includes the Revenant.
@@treenincove1726 Daniel Day Lewis was playing the dominant role. Leo was playing a passive role as was needed. Leos character is the little pup and Daniel's is the junk yard dog. Day lewis has make up and a handlebar moustache. He has big scenes such as when he is using the knife to show leo how to kill a man, being covered in the Amwrican flag, intoning how he runs the 5 points as the city is shown superimposed on his hand, etc. When hes off screen the other characters are discussing the Butcher in hushed and awed tones. By contrast Leo is seen vunrable, chasing the love intrest, grieving over his fathers death, being confused over his love hate relachinship with his new father figure in the Butcher. Its no surprise that Daniel Day Lewis comes across as better. But I doubt that makes him the better actor. Its simply in the script, directing, and story.
@@stewartkee6115 Nah, bro. Let me tell you something right now. When I saw gangs-of-new-york, I knew nothing about Daniel Day-Lewis. I literally paused the movie to look up who the guy playing Bill the Butcher was and I found out it was Day-Lewis. I had heard about him for years but I never seen him act. His performance was so incredible in that film, I pause the movie just to look him up. You know why? It's because he out performed every single actor in that movie, including John C Reilly, Cameron Diaz, and Leonardo DiCaprio. He embarrassed EVERYONE, not just Leo. There was something about his performance that stuck out to me because it was like he wasn't acting at all, which I found out he wasn't. Everyone else was acting except him. They looked like amateurs acting opposite him. THAT'S AN ACTOR!
After I saw that film, that's when I realized Leonardo DiCaprio was an OKAY actor.
Truth be told, dude should have at least 10 Oscars. He is the BEST actor of his generation. These awards are BS. It took Will Smith a long ass time to get one and then he slaps someone that night. SMDH.
And also, Wills acting is not the best , if we're being honest, definitely affirmative action pick. It's like giving Jason Mamoa an Oscar, lol, good movies but come on.
@@violent_bebop9687 I wouldn’t have been mad if he won for Ali. Outside of that, movies were good but acting wasn’t amazing
True story. I was at a business conference with 10,000 people in the audience and I was one of the guest speakers and shared the back stage with a number of other speakers in sort of a "waiting room" before going on stage.
The couple before me started their talk, but they split it into two segments. The husband was to do his segment first and his wife second.
So she came off stage still miked-up and never switched off. She went to the toilet and let's just say she farted her way to heaven and back with that big sigh of relief at the end.
All 10,000 people heard it and she still had to come back on stage to give her talk. Between the husband and the audience they agreed not to tell her so she could come and deliver her talk without embarrassment.
I think he only told her about it about ten years later 😂
lol. that's great.
Lol woah
Yeah ok
Leo is amazing. Daniel Day Lewis too.

Gangs of New York
Danny Boy is next level. When Leo plays "tough guy" roles he is not convincing. For instance, imagine Leo play Danial Day's part, "The Butcher" in Gangs of NY? He doesn't have range at masculine roles.
Not sure why I thought of Charlie Sheen walking in late hung over… talking about is everybody ready 😂
Or Johnny Depp in Blow
My 8th grade teacher back in 97 always told us to watch his movies because he was a awesome actor. We watched Romeo and juliet in class, that was pretty cool .

@@michaeledwardsii6615 yeah he was it was done in a respectful way but also saying like come on I’m not about to give you details of my friends life bc you have some weird infatuation with him
Awards don’t dictate your legacy, it’s the long lasting impression you leave for playing a character that defines how good you are at your craft as an actor. To play and act someone else for 2 hrs and make that viewer forget who you really are and be submerged in the story and character is the reason some actors don’t take any roll thrown at them
I worked as a 1st unit and Rigging Grip on "Django Unchained" for a few months when they were shooting down here around New Orleans. I have to agree with Ethan, who I did see on location visiting Leo at least twice, that Leo is the GOAT when it comes to acting. I watched him rehearse his part (Calvin Candy) and the part of his character's sister (Lara) because she wasn't on set yet. He acted just like an Antebellum lady with his voice and his physical appearance, and he did it in all seriousness, and without flubbing any lines.
I also saw him spin around and start talking with all of the extras that were in a certain scene with him as soon as "cut" was yelled by the 1st AD. He spoke to those extras as if they were his acting peers without the slightest bit of arrogance or pretension towards them. Btw, I worked on more than thirty motion pictures with actors including John Malkovich, Jim Carrey, Ewan McGregor, and Diane Lane to name a few. I have seen great actors at work, and Leo is the best all-around actor that I personally saw.
One more thing, I have also heard the story about the "hot mic" incident with Sly Stallone. It was apparently on channel 1 which is the most important and most listened to channel on the radio system for motion pictures, and TV productions. The mic was stuck open, and everyone that tuned to channel 1 heard what appeared to be a sexual act being "performed" on Sly, while he gave very specific instructions on how he wanted it done...
🙄

I’ve seen a lot of people give the wrong criticism to Leonardo DiCaprio! People who say he’s overrated and he doesn’t deserve his success. Literally just because you didn’t feel the emotion he put in his characters! Not liking his acting is completely fine and normal. But you don’t have the right to say why do people want to work with Leo? Why do directors like Quentin Tarantino, and Martin Scorsese, and Christopher Nolan want to work with him? I don’t see the value in Leo?
If you’re someone who’s just a normal person choosing what they like or don’t like about an actor! Then you’re not someone who judges who the directors want to hirer in their films.. it’s the directors job to hire the right people for their movies. I’ve seen people say people only want Leonardo DiCaprio in their movies just to make more of a buck for their movies! You’re not just insulting the actor Leo. But you’re also insulting the directors by thinking that you believe they’re stealing people who need to be in the actual movie, and instead hiring the right guy for the right job for this new movie!!! they’re just going to put Leo in the movie just to make the movie more markable. LIKE DUDE WHAT THE HELL??! Directors aren’t just going to choose actors for the sake of choosing them. If Leo DiCaprio is not needed in a movie don’t put him in the movie!
It’s the directors job to see the value in an actor so they can use them often in the future. Just because you’re someone who never saw the value of Leo’s acting career! Doesn’t give you the right to say he doesn’t deserve his success, because YOU didn’t see the greatness of his career. He’s worked in this movie industry almost 30 years! That’s more than enough time to prove his worth.
LD is pure class as an actor.
We’ve pretty much grown up watching DiCaprio. In the beginning he was ridiculed and now universally rated.
I didn't care for him much until, "The Departed" one of the greatest movies of all time.
He was tuna in one of my favorite flicks... "blow'..
He will be the 80-90’s kids Denzel level prestige
I can’t believe how normal and relatable the dude is! It’s Almost like actors and celebrities are just like regular human beings and everyday folks! That’s so mind blowing!
Because they are lol.
Leo is the goat ,the man can act and he's a professional,
Great guy and he’s professional. Also a fantastic actor, but I’m sorry I respectfully disagree and don’t think he’s the goat. Not even close actually. Marlon Brando, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Daniel Day Lewis, Willem Dafoe, etz
Ethan reminds me of our generation’s version of John Goodman. A character we recognize but who has transformed but yet we all remember. All good stuff.
I love Ethan, but he isn't working with the skill of John Goodman. John is trained as a stage actor, and the guys that can do stage and film are just on a different level
Leo Di caprio is the best actor in the world and one of the best ever if not the best. Way before titanic made him huge, what's eating Gilbert grape, basketball diaries he was jist a young kid in them and his performances was unbelievable and he has just went from strength to strength. Glad to hear he is like that on set. He should have way more awards but the academy don't like his lifestyle dating models and everything else. Leonardo is the best actor that has lived in my opinion.

Pat is 100% right... someone people are so obsess with their career they remove all distraction... are they egoist, narcistic etc etc... YES cause thats what you NEED to succeed. I respect someone like Leo or the couple PAT mentions for OWNING IT and not ''have kids to only abandon them later'' etc. Also, i am glad they are successful cause it made their sacrifice (of family, friends) worth it (pay off).
