Instead of the thumbs up, learn to brown claw ( palm open and facing down, let them fingers hang down, almost as if you were going to pick something up ). Best trick known to kayaking!

Where’s the wave
Hi Pete. It's Powick Weir just near our house. I walked down and paddled. You can see Ed running it here: czcams.com/video/XjBijaQIu-Q/video.html - it's a little wider now as the barrier has been removed.
A good start, but I don't think you would have won any prizes in a 1980's Rodeo.
And I didn't Dave - Shaun Baker et al put us all to shame! Agreed, they are only basic tricks to promote balance and paddle skills on a wave. Thanks for your comment.
