watching vito run around the empty pizzeria with the music is really sad, it's like a man with amnesia trying to remember who he is after his family has long moved on
Or a man who lost his family and come back to his old family restaurant.
Or a mentally insane person trespassing
Or a character from a game called Mafia 2 walking in a cut restaurant but who knows the possibilities are endless.
Or an Italian trying to find all the pasta.
Or an Italian nutcase lookin to smash some pasta
The worst part is that all of this cut content is fully finished and ready to use
They just needed more time to figure it out on how to fit it in

I will never lose hope on this: maybe one day, we will get a "Mafia 2 Remake" just like the resident evil series... and with it, the cut content could become a reality.

That scletta pizzeria looks incredibly similar to salieri’s bar. But honestly I think it was probably for the best that building was scrapped I can’t imagine Vito cooking pizza with his mom and sister

I think, he wouldn't cook pizza. Either it was optional buyable property, or it might have been given to Vito's family during his imprsonment.

Watching this makes me sad, the devs clearly put so much work into this game :( Still one of my favourites but it could have been so much more. I will hope and hope for a remake or the possibility of them working on a Mafia game again in the future

Thank 2K for rushing the game out the door. Daniel Vavra who was lead designer on the game (and also the one responsible for the masterpiece that was Mafia 1) didn't want to rush it and cut content, but 2K demanded that of him. So instead of doing it, Vavra left the studio because he realized he could not fulfill his vision of what Mafia 2 should be. Good for him! Ever since 2K destroyed Mafia 2 I have never bought anything from them again. Shit studio!
@@vitman2409 In reality Vavra left the studio later Take-Two bought 2k, but probably that was the explication why he left the studio and never come back.

What I think things suppose to be:
Pizzaria: Vito's own business, as we see Vito has his recipe for cooking in Mafia 3, or maybe it's a confession to his dead mother, to have a restaurant as her wish
The Hotel: Maybe related to Vito's/Henry's/Joe's marriage party and the Clemente messed things up
Scaletta's original house: Planned before Marty's death as an emergency hideout after his house in Greenfield was burned to ground/ hideout after Vito get out from jail
In Mafia I, Paulie says he will have his own Pizzeria or something
Maxwells motel is for sure the most luxurius hotel i ever seen, i say 5 star motel.
There are rumors that they are remastering this game. I wish they would bring back some of these cut content so we can play this game as it was meant to be played :)

@@The242511 What can we say. How are you suppose to add those missing content without the guidance of the original devs? Its probably be better of not adding them or they will just screw up the original idea from the devs. Even if at a glance would have been an easy process to some of the locations.
@@Deliveredmean42 They could've made a game on new engine then... Not just add minor graphics improvements and sell it for 30€ on steam.... Even the Old Time Reality Mod has better graphics than the remaster
@@The242511 First of, it is obvious they use all of their resource to focus on the Mafia 1 remake, which is a good decision since the first game is really really old. Second, 30 dollars is not 30 euro/pound whatever that symbol means. And third, if you already own Mafia 2 on steam, its free. If you don't have the game on steam but if you are clever enough, get the OG steam key for 5 to 10 dollars and get the upgrade free. Either way, I wasn't expecting much of an upgrade for Mafia 2 or 3. I knew it was going to be something similar to the Master Chief collection, when their efforts were of course made to improve Halo 2 anniversary, while the rest of the games gets a similar resolution and framerate boost, with some minor texture quality improvements. Just be have that one of the games has a remake at all, not all will get the same treatment, as 2k games don't really have much talented devs under their wings that aren't overworked to oblivion.
My heart is bleeding. So much effort for nothing! Why couldnt they just have made a Mafia 2 remaster with all that content instead of giving us the pile of garbage known as Mafia 3 ? 😭😭😭
It's never too late for 2K to finish the game and properly release it, although there are some things that might need to be changed to reflect the changes between the beta version and the final version. For example, they should include the pizza parlor that was cut, but it would probably no longer make sense for it to belong to Vito's family because the story was re-written so that his father worked at the docks.

Wow!! I never knew about things like the Hotel Maxwell, Ricky's Records or Vito's family's original apartment. There's also a building in that area that burns down through the course of the game but there is never any mention of it. Just in later missions, the building is charred and dilapidated.
Vito's Pizzeria comes from one of the cut endings. There was an ending where Vito does his best to distance himself from the Mob as much as possible, but then we learn he's got bookies running out of the basement or something like that. It was supposed to be the "family friendly" ending where Vito starts a family and settles down, but then we learn that you never TRULY leave the life.
What could have been game of the year, right? And then Mafia 3 comes out and we almost get the same short end of the stick. While Mafia 3 isn't a bad game, it sure as hell lacked the polish of the first two games.
Interesting. It makes sense because in the basement there are several desks with phones and agendas.

You forgot to mention that the M-Hotel was supposed to appear in Joe's Adventures since the hotel files are in it. My guess is that it was where the final mission took place where we kill Rocco instead of Vinci's construction site but that's just my guess.

Fast forward 3 years they come out with a definitive edition that not only doesn’t add any cut content that would be easy to add since most was already finished just needed a bit of polishing, the remaster ends up being filled with bugs and is worse than the original.

I wonder if there was originally going to be dry cleaner's stores or laundromats in Empire Bay. We know that Vito's clothing can get dirty in two of the story missions, so it makes me wonder. Either way It would be cool if modding could create a system where that outfit would remain dirty until you go to have it cleaned. Cleaning it could also get rid of your wanted level if you had it dirty when the cops spotted you.
That M-Hotel has Bioshock vibe in it.

The original apartment should've been a replacement for Marty's apartment. It fits way better.
It's actually painful watching this, Mafia 2 is one of my favourite games of all time but if they added all of the cut content into the finished game it could have been so much better, imagine if they incorporated all the cut stuff into a free roam game mode it would have been amazing. Buying Cars and appliances for whichever apartment you bought, side missions for the pizzeria, being able to use public transport, having additional mele weapons, having a reputation system, visiting places we didn't even know existed. 😔
It's rumored that the M hotel was going to be used for an alternate ending where Vito and Joe have a final duel hence, the blood stains.

Think I’ve heard of a mafia 2 remastered edition coming out which would be awesome if it included a lot of cut content! Cause I think based on the map size and all the cut content that’s been found and probably some that hasn’t I think it was meant to be more open world than what came out. With the car dealership, the real estate options, the pizzeria etc I think you would’ve been able to run businesses or rackets as well cause in the pizzeria interior it looked like a basement with desks, phones etc might’ve been a racket for like gambling or something so with possible businesses making money you also could set up a racket in there to make even more money

I think the pizzeria scaletta would have played a role when Vito returned from military service in which the business was failing and Vito tried to save it but most likely he would have failed after he was sent to prison

Yes, in the wiki it states that you can choose to murder leonardo with Henry, or not to. that probably would have affected the ending.

Came out after years of development and also with cut content...few years later few guys made a mode Lost Alpha which brings back missing locations, weapons, missions...we need those guys to create original Mafia II !!! All this reboot is HUGE dissapointment with Maafia II...tune a bit graphics and sell it again...FU*K you 2K !!!!
I dont want a remake. I want to see mafia 4 with a great story as mafia 2 had with the content they cut from the mafia 2 and the mechanics they cut from mafia 3 like the "cop bribe". Why mafia 3 you can't bribe the cops, just dont make sense. In mafia 3 cops are more agressive than gta 5 cops. Dont come with that racism bulshit. They removed things that mafia 2 brought to the franchise because they were lazy and umprepared to make a game of that size. They focus to much in main story that they forgot they were making a open world game. The mirrors, the mirrors of mafia 3 was one of the most riculous thing I ever seen in game.
