Overall, it's a really good sounding and well made guitar. It feels just right and it exceeds all the expectations! The only thing I don't like is the lack of the tremolo tailpiece - it's a crucial part of offset guitars! Still, it's a really good guitar which is definitely worth every cent.

The Jazzmaster and Jaguar back in the day were guitars used for Surf Music only. I'm 74 I've been playing for more than 50 years. Back in the 60's and 70's most popular guitars were Strats, Tele's, SG's and of coarse Les Pauls. I bought this Harley Benton guitar because it sounds great. I have a large collection of guitars because I've been playing so long and never sell anything. : ) I own both the JA 25th and this JA 60 OW. Love them both. Los Angeles
Mine arrived about a month ago and I'm still kind of shocked at what I got for £145!
This would be well worth it at twice the price. No hyperbole, this is just a good guitar; sounds good, plays good, looks good.
Get one.
Man you are playing a guitar I'm interested in and you started with Many of Horror from Biffy Clyro? You rock my man!!
Great review, keep it up!
BTW, how can this be?!!! Such a cheap piece of guitar and a such great tone and look! Gonna order this one as soon as it is back in stock! :)
I just got one and it also exceeds my expectations.
I wish there guitars like this when I was a teenager 50yrs ago.
Very playable with really nice ‘Roswell’ pickups.
Awesome! Great to hear that :)
The Duesenberg Les Trem II is a perfect addition to the JA-60.
Cool! I’ll check it out :)
Thanks for the review. That model is sold out ... again. It must be very popular. How would you describe the color of the finish. I've read everything from white, to off-white, to white with a bit of yellow to tan. I'm thinking sort of tan?
I'd say that it's white with a bit of yellow. It's really tough to describe it, it's kind of like a page of an old book :) but it looks great though!
@@bestguitarsnow Thanks as that was my thoughts and others have said that. I posted the same question on another forum and got two owners who said they thought the finish had no yellow in it at all. None. I think your description of an aged book page is pretty spot on ... sort of a tan/yellow color. That's the best term I've read.
Mine I would describe as cream..... Lovely, lovely cream.
Love it
Buy one you won't regret it, it's truly lovely.
Y'all take care now
@@teterouge1472 It's just that the MS-60 Mustang clone is also described as having a cream finish by some users and so I would like not to have two offsets with similar, or somewhat similar , finishes, although they are different guitars with different body shapes, scale lengths and pickups.
Nice, any problems adjusting the pickups height? Did you do try it?
I haven't done it but I don't think that it will be a problem :)
I had to put foam from an old matt I had under the pickups to get them to come up to the recommended height.
@@bestguitarsnow Did I miss something? Hahahaha pickups are super easy to adjust. You can do most of a set up with just a small allen wrench (.50 hex), a screw driver, youtube and some patience. I bought this kit for like $30 and it was my favorite purchase in a while..the Ernie Ball Musician's Tool kit. I've since learned how to adjust my action, the truss rod properly, file down any frets that need it, strip the grit feeling of the neck that you see on cheaper guitars sometimes..totally worth it, I jjst wouldn't dare with a friend's guitar quite yet hahaha but the Harley Bs are perfect for practicing set ups, and the result is a
Dude, why even bother with it? This thing sounds amazing.
I bought this hoping to get close to a Rickenbacker sound. Not at all. Needs locking tuners as well. Replaced the bridge with a roller bridge. Way better.
Nice! Surely these upgrades made it significantly better :)
The Jazzmaster is Fender's best model, it's a guitar with an incredibly clean tone, and if needed with effects it can be harder.
The same goes for HB-JA, they made it sound the same.
Yes with the installation of a JM style tremolo plate as well as a floating bridge it gets even better.
I did it on my JM-HB.
For cheap money, you can have a guitar that is not called Fender, but who cares, it sounds the same.
After all, your energy-finger plays, and only then the instrument.
I think it's definitely worth having a guitar like this.
Nobody working at Fender has the last name Fender anyway. If you want a real Fender buy a G&L that was Leo Fender's last company. I own several G&L's. I also own 2 Harley Benton's a JA 60 OW like the one above and the
JA 25th limited edition. For the money they are really cool. Los Angeles
Yes these are worth it. They all punch way above their weight
